Nope it's just not good. Only a viable game if you're obsessed with FUT basically.
Tweaked the sliders a bit and actually finding it ok. Sitting just outside the CL spots about halfway through the season and matches seem fairly realistic depending who you play.
Whoever added that “zoom in” shot is not on my Xmas card list though - conceded a 90th minute winner to City when one of their players did that, I lost orientation and then the ball broke to a suddenly unmarked Haaland to fire home in the box.
Turn it off. It's in camera settings under zoom shot or something like that.

It's not bad at all. Still to this day I don't get the FUT hype and think it's stupid that the game needs sliders to be playable, but here we are. Since PES pretty much gave up it's the only option.
He's good. I've been using him instead of WC Icon Schweinsteiger who has been a mainstay in my team. Even though Xabi beats Schweiny on just about every stat, I'm not feeling the impact in the same way. Then again, I've also managed to move from Div 8 to 5 since then so I'm struggling in general now whereas I used to be able to just enjoy the game. Might put Schweinsteiger back in and see how much of my issue is the opposition.
On a side note, Pogba SBC is brilliant. I also tried Pirlos toty icon on loan and he was also fantastic. Both much more mobile than Xabi
Could never ever imagine playing career mode. Don't think I've touched it in 15 years or so, but then that goes for all campaign style games. I rarely get involved in games that aren't online multiplayers.

They are, Makelele is literally everywhere. Not been feeling Pogba so was going to swap him out for Alonso but i had already started the icon sbc so thought i would try my luck at that instead and out pops WC Lothar.
Can't justify POTM Mbappe because of the minimal upgrade over his gold but honestly Mbappe might actually stay in my team till TOTS he's that good.

Having some mad luck at the moment. Eusebio the other day, TOTY Icon Pires last week and TOTY Icon Cole yesterday. Team pretty much sorted now, just going to save my coins.
Have any of you done the Rooney SBC? I wasn't sure initially but I stuck with him, tried him with Engine, Architect and Hunter (settled on Architect) and I'm absolutely loving this card. Possibly my favourite striker I've used in fifa, his shooting is phenominal. Think he's got about 60 goals and 20 assists in 40 games for me. Last night I played an hour and won all of my 8 rivals games for the week within an hour, going from div 4 to the verge of div 2. Rooney couldn't stop scoring.
Thankfully this card is seriously slept on I think. If you figure out how to use him then he's insanely good. One other player gave me a tough game with him last night, think he had an Engine on him which makes a noticeable difference in dribbling, but he's too good with Architect. Fast, 99 strength around 94/95 aggression...nobody takes the ball off him. He's scoring headers for fun too which has surprised me, as I never score headers.

I'm jealous, I've always wanted any of the Eusebio cards in my team. Not sure why, but more so than Pele etc. Even though Pele is cracked. Which SBC?

Brilliant pulls! And here I thought mine was good! Hah
To be fair I think the icon SBCs are some of the best. Yes, there's always a risk of mediocre pulls but in general icons all play better than their stats and for any true football fan it's nice to have em in the club for "free" off fodder.

You can change it. You'll soon find a ton of chemistry cards in your inventory or you can buy them off the market - don't. Save your coins.
Also get out while you can. FUT is the worst cesspit of gaming.

It's a brilliant and fun concept. But monetized to hell and incentives the absolute worst in people for that reason.
If you're ever thinking about buying FIFA points you should stop, smack yourself in the willy or the titty or both or neither or whatever and turn the game off.
If you're hell bent on spending money look for the special promo packs with guaranteed players over a certain rating.
Oh absolutely yeah - I refuse to spend any money on it. Definitely won't be doing that. It's definitely addictive - but the fact I barely have any time to play it should keep me from going off the rails with it!
My weekly routine is - get 3 - 8 wins in rivals which gets you a decent number free packs. Do a handful of squad battles (against cpu) to get the weekly objectives. Silver games as well for the silver star objective. Since you're starting out you'll likely get tons of rewards from objectives too and soon see the loot box psychology these guys hurl at you from every angle. Save cards when you can to put them into the Squad building challenges which I think is my favorite addition and probably the most rewarding.
Also recommend trying the Draft mode - start offline as online is all people who are way too good for me.
Yeah I had trouble with that draft mode you know - the game kept crashing during the first game. The first time, EA restored my lost token, but the 2nd and 3rd time they refused! So been put off that for now, even though it's a really good concept.
Aiming to get the 20 future swap tokens for 90 rated Best, and then probably will do the next Rashford POTM sbc. Not sure what to do at RB and CB. King is untradeable and he's a bit of a beast so feel fine with him, Licha and Dalot could be upgraded on though. Don't feel a need to change Mendy... But could put Bale there.

The Dalot WC team of the tournament card is really really fecking good - maybe consider that?
Yeah looks decent. Anyone used the Dani Alves card? Cafu is the dream, was fun to use in draft so not sure if he feels like him.
Yeah they're pretty similar. You'd probably need another Brazilian icon to get him on chem though?
I'm in Div 1 of seasons and feel like i'm missing a trick regarding pace/sprint, multiple times i've been outsprinted by a player whilst controlling Hakimi, Kimpembe etc despite the player not being as quick as them, or multiple times when 1 on 1 defending a through ball, I go to shoulder barge the striker with a Kimpembe and the striker just holds him off and sprints away. I know wiggle stick sprinting is much faster when with the ball but very rarely do I seem to be able to get away from opposition defenders yet struggle to keep up with their attackers. I also have absolutely no idea how to score from a corner or defend a corner which is annoying.
In shite gameplay pace is a huge problem, nothing beats beating someones high press and then through balling to your striker and their 80 pace CB catches Mbappe from a huge deficit. Love it.
On the corners it's a tricky one because the one people still attempt is the near post bicycle kick so to counter it just drag your keeper out to where they usually put it. Does leave you vulnerable to a in swinger though but 9/10 for me they normally collect it and you'll typically have a counter on.
For scoring them i usually go short then (i know it's boring) run to the byline and drill a low cross in or edge of the box and power shot. Not exactly guaranteed goals but it works and more often then not you'll get another corner.
Also heads up WL is basically golden goal today. Assume people want their rewards for TOTY so you can steam through your games. Managed 11 wins in about 2 hours.
Yeah with the corners its more that I don't know how to time headers/jump when defending or attacking, tbh I don't know how to win headers anywhere on the pitch, its the one weakness in my game. I don't know if I have to hold shoot down, tap, time the header just before the ball, when it arrives. it's one of Fifa's great mysteries for me.
The people I'm playing seem to have already packed all of the TOTYs anyway.
As stupid as it sounds the bicycle kick is actually the easy method for aerial attacks. Just hold L2/LT when the ball comes to you.
Really? first few game are a toss up normally for me while they establish your elo, normally a mix of wannabe pros and people who don't have hands. After 5 games i'm normally a 4-1 ratio w/l so i get my wins pretty quick.
Usually get 9 or 11 wins but started 1-4 today because of my matchups, some unreal teams. 7-7 now and will play the rest over the weekend but it feels like a 9 win weekend.
NGL you probably won't miss much in the rewards the new promo looks shite. Just packed Lucio and Messi out of three runs of the league SBC, chuffed with Lucio but literally just completed Ramos too so my CB list is now WC Blanc (never leaving my team) Lucio, Ramos, and Maldini. Just changed the team up to this, hoping for a Carlos or decent LB and then i'll probably be done:
