Imagine Qatar owning PSG, Man Utd, Bayern, Real Madrid and Juventus in a couple of years.

With Musk:
-we would have total control of Twitter
-better ties with Russia and Rich oil states
-first PL game in space
-VIPs like Putin and MBS attending our
games
We could also get him to buy who the cafe wants by goading him into it on twitter.

Nice to see so many of you who just do not give a shit who owns the club as long as they give you players and money. Im certain the womens team will be excited to be owned and funded by the regime that do not allow women do live life without permission from a male guardian. You lot have the backbone of a jellyfish and Im happy to take a account warning for the truble of telling you as much.
I imagine that even THEY wouldn’t all care. The reality is that people do not all do this deep dive of consciousness before taking professional decisions, and can easily compartmentalise. If everyone cared so strongly about only working for ethical companies, people wouldn’t work for unethical companies. It’s not a given that all women care passionately about the happenings in Qatar either, or are any less likely to go there or take a job at a Qatar owned company just because of mysogynistic practices.

Beyonce is a woman, for example, and I’m sure she’s taken ME dollars before and would have no problem performing there for a big cheque. She knows that after all, it’s not her who is going to be jailed. Harsh as it sounds, not everyone moves like that. I’m almost certain that there are a number of homosexuals who would take a high paying job at a Qatar owned company in the UK if offered.

Ratcliffe will without a question take money out. They are a private investment company that exist to make money not give it away, his fellow shareholders would accept nothing less.
There was a multi post/page discussion over the weekend that i thought had cleared that all up, Ineos has only 3 shareholders apparently.

It would make no sense to buy United for £4-5 billion and then take money out. The only way to make money would be to grow club and then it's an asset that appreciates in value.

The parting gift from the Glazers - selling Man Utd to that disgusting qatar regime.

The worse thing that ever happened to Utd was the Glazers.

For me personally, the moment that sale takes place, Man Utd cease to exist.
I respect anyone who says this and actually goes through with it. I’m expecting to see a lot hot air when it comes to actually walking away from the club. Easier said than done.

For you perhaps, but most fans will continue to support the club, irrespective of who owns it.

Our loyalty is to the club, not whichever scummy billionaire who owns it for whatever heinous motivations they have.

If nothing else I'm glad most of the reports are making the links to the Emir & state clear rather than trying to push the "they're just unconnected private investors" shtick.

I'd say this is pretty much a done deal for us to be hearing this much noise about it. Wouldn't be surprised if the bid has already been accepted.

How are mods allowing this prejudicial and borderline racist comments by some of the members on here, who are just ignorant of other cultures.

It actually absurd, clearly many of you have not traveled the world are just spewing out media propaganda.

You should report the comments you think are racist rather than vaguely alluding to them.

I agree. The US is a great place and there's no reason to continuously denigrate its citizens on here. Sure they have a lot of guns and a few backwards laws, but you can't beat a footlong hotdog and a bucket-sized serving of coca cola on Superbowl Sunday.

I'm not overly keen on the thought of Qatari owners, but at the price the Glazers want realistically very few can afford it.

I just couldn't stop supporting us though far too much invested in over 40 years of following Utd.
I'll just have to learn to live with it.I'd better stay away from the transfer threads in the summer they will be unbearable!

I just don't know where football is going sadly, states should not be allowed to own football clubs but it seems if we don't jump on it we could be left behind that to me is crazy considering how much revenue we earn.
Cheers Glazers, you've well and truly screwed us over in your 18 years.

A Manchester United fan with very deep pockets willing to pump vast amounts of money into the club and doesn’t expect a return on investment. A dream scenario, no?

It really depends. Not everyone in Qatar supports the regime I‘m sure, and organizers of pop concerts almost certainly don‘t, right?

Being under the direct influence of a repressive evil regime is going to look bad for us and is a bad move in my opinion.

Having a Qatarese or Saudi fund invest in us might be a different matter. But I don‘t want to see people sitting in the stands who are known murderers or homophobes.

We generate our own money. We need ownership that invests more in the club and makes us financially healthier. There is no need to compromise ourselves to get the support we need.

Musk can buy an NFL team, that is a much better fit.

Fair play on that, what can we do though? We have no say in who buys it. What they won’t get from United fans is hero worship. We dont need sugar daddy owners to compete.

The best we can hope for from any new owner is that they improve on the infrastructure and leave the football to take care of itself.

That's not correct. The Qataris may (or may not) want it, but assuming that they do, there is the question of how much they want it and whether they are willing to meet whatever valuation Joel and Avram have decided is "enough". Unless you think that there will be no other bidders, they also won't have a clear run at it - Ratcliffe might not be willing to go over £4bn, but it's possible that there will be bidders from the US and/or Saudi Arabia who are.
I get that.
But when you never hear the word 'no' then if he wants it he will get it.
He has so much money that he couldnt spend it in 1000 lifetimes

Why?
You don't support the owners. You support the club.

Fair enough I think. Don’t act all high and mighty above it all if you’re then going to be frothing with joy over Mbappe coming on as an injury time sub in the derby.

I don't think that's the way to go. Nobody will walk away from the club lightly and some may find themselves dragged back in. Either way, it's not something to mock people for.

disagree. most of us can see the moral complexity of the situation, but for someone to make themselves feel particularly superior to others in saying theyll walk away to then not follow through with it (which the vast majority of them won't), is 100% worth of mockery
