Hannibal is not ready to be relied upon as number two striker. He's like Mainoo, we can try giving him five minutes when we are 3-0 up.

I wouldn't want to spend money on a second striker, so maybe Osimhen as first choice with Martial and Thuram as back up? I'm not that worried, as Osimhen will play most games, so Martial is less likely to get injured if he is just back-up. We also have Rashford and Greenwood who could both play as a striker if need be, and we have plenty of depth in the wings.
We need 2.
Osimhen and Thuram would be good.

Not as a striker. Hannibal is a box-to-box. Take the load off our not-so-youthful mids. I can see that he has slowly matured as a player. He's less volatile and less reactive nowadays, which was a huge red flag in the past.

the money won’t be a problem, him wanting to leave and then also choose us is the main obstacle. there will be tons of interest.

Real, barca, man city, psg, Liverpool and arsenal don't need him. Chelsea do but almost certainly won't be in the champions league. Don't see where else he goes if we want him.

Our only competition is Chelsea and right now they're not looking like the right career move over us.

I watched him yesterday. Can't help getting Lukaku vibes from him. His next club has to absolutely set up to play to his strengths, cos he doesn't add much to general play. If it's us, fingers crossed really hard it comes off. Easy to think he might be a Nunez and this is a purple patch, but if we had Nunez, we'd probably be top of the league!

Seems like a great striker but one that can also fluff his shots quite often.

Real and Barca do imo. Many top clubs need a striker
Barcelona have spent big on Lewandowski and we have Benz, Alvaro who is incredibly promising and spent big on Endrick. The only CF we might be looking at for the foreseable future is Kylian Mbappé because he's Kylian Mbappé

Also the cnuts don't have the money for Osimhen. Who is awesome and Napoli's best player btw

Sou might want to replace Benz soon enough and Endrick most likely wont be ready in the next 2 years

I've said for a while he reminds me of Nunez but with better coordination in the box. Think he's a much better athlete than Lukaku ever was, although Lukaku at his best had a glorious left peg to rely on.

Anyways the one thing he can also fall back on is that he's ELITE in the air. I don't think he's a perfect fit but honestly there aren't better options available I think in terms of profile. Even watching us with Weghorst who's an absolute eyesore, you can see spots where if Osimhen played the exact same style he'd still find himself through on goal plenty of times. But as many have said, the more successful Napoli are the less likely it is that he's even sold this summer

When I see him make those runs into channels and blow by defenders I can't help but think he'd be perfect for us, both in terms of how his game meshes with the players around him and our system playing to his strengths

Blow most of our budget on him IMO, get a world class CM and sell a few players to make our spend better.

New owners please make a big statement in your first summer

As much as I don’t like Lukaku’s playing abilities , to be fair he was decent at finishing , fending off/bullying defenders and had very good pace to run down the alleys.
He had horrible touch for a footballer and generally very incompatible with other players in the buildup. These are essential for a number nine at top club and hence failure of Lukaku at big stages.

Not sure how good Osimhen’s touch is and in general his involvement with the buildup of the play. If his football is closer to Nunez than Lukaku , I think it’s good to buy him.

Get Ten Hag in a 1 on 1 meeting with him and have Victor drink some coffee from the Caraboa Cup. Give him a literal taste of success.

Well Lukaku was actually not as much of a bully as you'd hope for his size and he was only average in the air. He also isn't the tireless runner that someone like Osimhen is either, which is a big deal for us. I think you can make up for being mediocre on the ball if you can finish off chances well enough and offer serious threats off of it. I've always been against Nunez for example, because for as much of a hassle he is to deal with in the strenght/pace department he's simply lacking any consistent technique in front of goal as a striker. Maybe he gets it coached in to him, but for now it's not really there which means his contributions to a game will be so hit or miss.

Him over Weghorst any day of the week, month, year, multiverse.

I don't think Chelsea will be in strong contention for players that are highly coveted given how much they need to work with the current crop of players. Look at the situation with City and the league and it shows really probably behind closed doors why they had a very quite summer.

Osimhen as priority and then, dare I say it, maybe I’ve lost it after the Pool loss, Zaha on a free?

1 or 2 year deal. Covers the front 3. Return of Wilf.
Id take Zaha for sure. Can cover LW and CF

Why should he want to go to Chelsea just because he idolizes Drogba? He can aspire to play like and be as successful as Drogba for any club.

It's a lot of money for Todd to pay over what will inevitably be a 25 year contract
Sheikh Jassim if he wins says United will double that and you can play CL football. The lads probably a united fan as well as 50% of the Nigerian country supper United, I’m confident this or Kane happens providing the Glaziers Vacate the building before the end of April as others will be already working in the deal !

Hannibal isn't even a striker, absolutely no need to try and retrain him there, he needs to hone his skills in CM first.

His parents and extended family are Chelsea fans, I am not sure how much, if anything, that plays into player decisions.

Did somebody just say Hannibal is a second striker?

Hannibal plays for Birmingham City. He is nowhere near ready for the Premier League, especially temperament wise.

Why does he always seem to wearing a mask?
He had a skull fracture and broke his cheekbone and eye socket badly last season that required 6 plates and 18 screws. The details of the full extent of it at the time are quite graphic if you read up on it

He's also very aggressive in the air so it's a good way of protecting himself now

Impossible signing in my opinion, Napoli will ask upwards of £150m
Aye, de Laurentis has always been difficult to deal with and that was even before this sort of hyper inflation in football.

With them winning the league I think you could be right, especially since they also paid a substantial amount for him.

Love this. Plus the fact he wants to play in the premier league.
