If I could be bothered I’d trawl through the thread and find all the quotes, but I have stuff to do.
But yes, Sir Jim has been accused of all sorts by the pro Qatar lobby - chief among which is bluffer or that he isn’t serious somehow.
Tbf Jim didn't help himself by coming in with a bid for Chelsea after the deadline. Plus being a United-supporting, Chelsea season ticket holder doesn't add much cred.

I wanted Qatar as I thought it’s the best for united’s future but I’m not gonna lie I have warmed to Jim a bit now after seeing him with his delegation. :nervous:

The thought of him owning united is far more appealing than any amount of cash from any state given he wipes out all the debt. I don’t dream about us spending hundreds of millions every window. We make enough revenue to splash on players if the debt, interests payments, dividends are not there.

Jim/INEOS will have multiple season tickets for major sports, boxes at Albert Hall, O2 etc etc. The fact that he has access to some seats at Chelsea is utterly irrelevant.

Dunno about you. My school headmaster scared the feck out of me.
He's like my Junior 3 primary school teacher. He used to have cigarette burns /holes all over his pants (yes, it's pants in Manchester*). Top bloke but was a City fan.

I'm not being xenophobic*

Again, this thread is so annoying

There might be an element of xenophobia/racism when it comes to the Qatar bid but for the majority (including me) there is a concern about the soul of the club being tarnished forever by links with a state that appears incompatible with their own views/beliefs.

Check out some of their replies to the below tweet. Whilst homophobia is an issue across the whole world, any time a United account posts something in support of the LGBTQ community, there are hundreds of grim responses from morons who have never stepped foot inside Old Trafford or Manchester. Would a Qatar ownership model embodden those people more? Who knows but there would certainly be pressure on those running the club to make clear what their views/beliefs are due to their closeness to those running the country back home.

All of the previous points are in no way support of Jim Radcliffe. Accusations there's a hierarchy of "top redness" when it comes to support of new/current/potential owners based on locality ignores the fact that many of those same people protested against Martin Edwards throughout the 90s.
If you see the accounts of people replying against this you will find the usual suspects. If you see the their posts on majority of the facebook Man Utd groups, you will find they overwhelmingly support Greenwood and want him back in the team.

I am hugely against the potential ownership by Qatar, however I think it is inevitable. I can't see a reason why they wouldnt win the bid.

I'm Vote Jim. He's tall, a bit trampish, has a man bag.

Negatives - he's a Tory cnut. No offence @esmufc07.
As said previously - let's leave the cheap Tory-bashing out of this.

I've voted Tory in the past and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Are we all cnuts to you?

It just looks like you're trying to impress a bunch of strangers on the internet, which isn't a great look.

Same. I've gone from Qatar to neutral I think.

Ratcliffe offers far less political baggage and, as you say, we don't need a super-rich owner.

We just need someone who'll let United be United, without choking us with debt.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
I respect that he's gone in person and simply walked around Old Trafford in front of the cameras like that. No hiding, just "yeah i'm here, feck you"
I’d imagine he’s told the cameras where he’s going to be. The reason he’s come in person is to show everyone he’s serious. Like I said earlier - exciting times either way - I’m convinced glazers are going - too far in now - and whoever buys the club for the fees we’re talking about will be doing so to make us the best around.

Whole things a set up by the Glazers to be honest. Could easily have been held in the London office where most of the commercial business is dealt with, bidders turning up at old Trafford to offer Joel billions has been carefully stage managed

Vote for the tories and you’ll get everything that comes with it. Own it, your choice to be fair.

Ratcliffe is obviously serious and thinks he has a good chance. Billionaires don't expose themselves in public like that if they think the bid is most likely doomed to fail.

It’s not that big a deal though. It’s been explained that Chelsea was just more convenient as he moved to London for business reasons. It was just a bloke going to the football. In one regard it’s good that he kept contact and interest with the PL.
It’s also been explained that he wasn’t serious about Chelsea, the bid was a signs to the Glazers - he was using the press to send a message. Subsequently they made the club available for sale and he’s a major part of the process and has been since the beginning. He’s very serious about United. If people weren’t blinded by Qatari dollars then INEOS would likely be the fans favourite bidder.
He gets ridiculed by people for being from Manchester, being a fan and wanting the club to be Mancunian centred. The guy can’t win.
