That was a very quick tour of OT, the Qatari delegation were there for half the day. Perhaps Arnold wants quick talks so he can go pub again.

I've never tried buying Man United but will Jim say to the board 'ay arrr, lads, ere's 4.5 big'ens, take it or leave it!'.

Why do they need 10 hours?

Probably cause the first bid was sorta blind and just to show that you're serious and can be trusted with the books.

Now they'll properly review the debt, cashflows, revenue, profits, losses etc and come up with a number.
The actual negotiations start now.

Ratcliffe is obviously serious and thinks he has a good chance. Billionaires don't expose themselves in public like that if they think the bid is most likely doomed to fail.

I didn't see him exposing himself, he was fiddling around in his pocket for a bit. Did he get it full out after that?

He already left? Why the feck has he come in the first place?

Jim or Jassim I'm happy Glazers are actually going. Jassim would be better for football, but we'll be carrying the Qatar baggage whereas with Jim relatively less investment but no political baggage and no sportswashing accusations and discussions.

I'm sure both will be fine owners and we will achieve success either way.

I don't know how Jim will beat Qatar money, especially as they seem so determined to buy the club, but he clearly thinks he has a chance.

Saw a suggestion a while back that INEOS are being backed by Saudi money (who want a part stake) in their United bid - maybe bollocks but he'd probably be very confident if this is the case

I am hugely against the potential ownership by Qatar, however I think it is inevitable. I can't see a reason why they wouldnt win the bid.
With a name like that, it's hardly a surprise.

If Jim Ratcliffe means having Goldman Sachs being involved, then it is a huge red flag.

How can you possibly surmise that?
Al Thani family members have driven Malaga to virtual extinction and PSG are a joke - many hundreds of millions spent to just about dominate the French league.

Just be honest and admit it’s about the money.

As said previously - let's leave the cheap Tory-bashing out of this.

I've voted Tory in the past and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Are we all cnuts to you?

It just looks like you're trying to impress a bunch of strangers on the internet, which isn't a great look.

There is never a valid reason to leave cheap Tory bashing aside.

Anyway, Jim's off to Carrington isn't he? Probably to meet Erik and co seeing as they're about to become best mates.

The official stadium tour lasts longer than Ratty’s visit did :nervous:

Jim's a Top-top fan (based on place of birth) -- so he doesn't need to see the insides of OT. All information was passed on genetically including OT's blueprints and seating layout. In some circles, only plebs and plastics take the tours.

Honestly, Jim Ratcliffe would be a disaster, it's more of the same of what the Glazers were.

I think Qatar have this in the bag. They have the resources to out-bid INEOS easily.

Certainly. And let's not forget questioning the ethics of those with even worse ethics than the Tories, people who make them look like hippies :wenger:

Absolute rubbish. You haven’t a clue and are making up scenarios in your head.
We haven’t a clue how either bidder will pan out and it’s all hypothetical.
Funny that you start your post with ‘honestly’ when the rest of the post is anything but. More like ‘trust me lads’
