Fulham really shot themselves in the foot with what they did, especially Mitrovic.
Games can change in an instant, you have to accept that, also why the aggressive protesting ? The handball was clear as daylight, or maybe they've seem that handballs are never given in our favor so they hoped that will be the case this time also?

De Gea and Shaw are due big thanks from Fulham for calming their players down during their Chernobyl moment.
Things could’ve been 10x worse but for their intervention.
Agreed. For a few moments it looked like they could get enough players sent off for the match to be abandoned

Thing is, up until thensendings.off, the ref had given EVERYTHING to Fulham and given us feck all. Reed clipped Martinez' heels in the first, nothing, Weghorst was put down a couple times, nothing. It was a joke but now all of that isn't going to get looked at and this fecking narrative about us and refs gets to continue unchallenged in the media.

He got clipped slightly by Martinez (?) and made a meal of it. Wasn't clearly a penalty at all
Wasn't really a clip. He purposely put his foot in a position it might just brush Martinez, then did a hilarious Tom Daly dive.

I honestly fell sorry for Fulham. Yes it was a handball an the penalty was ok but I am not sure it was that deliberate and I think it’s a bit unfair to be automatically double penalised for that. A bit the same as when the keeper trips someone and gets a red because he’s the last man. Sometimes it’s deliberate and fair and other times it’s just a millisecond mistiming and it’s penalty, red card and game over.
Rarely see a more deliberate handball to be honest. He clearly moved his hand to the ball to stop a goal, which it 100% was going to be.

He literally intentionally cheated us out of a goal, tried to lie about it, and you feel sorry for them :wenger:

Sancho with a hat-trick!

That was some serious meltdown by Fulham.
DDG's save was one of the crucial moments of the game. We never would 've come back after 0-2.

The most important thing is that we are in the semis. Hopefully, some players will be back after the break

I don't feel sorry for the way they reacted (and especially Mitrović ) but the red card always seems unfair unless it's a flagrant and intentional use of the hand, which I don't think it was in this case - more clumsiness or an instinctive reaction. Up to that point I thought we were probably going out, we were doing very little to suggest we could turn it round. I'm not even sure Sancho's strangely delayed shot was going in.

Who were our best performers ?
No one was great. As others say, very tired looking. I thought Shaw was decent. Bruno looked tired. Maguire won a good few headers. Pressing wasnt there. Weghorst looked leggy, too. Sancho did well when he came on. Dave saved us in the first half in which we were second best everywhere on the pitch. Mitrovich was on fire during the match until he spontaneously combusted.

I mean.... Just wow.

Totally gifted the tie by Fulham. Couldn't see us getting back into it before they hit self-destruct.
Without the hand ball on the line, we would have been back in it. Might still have lost, of course.

Phew, so happy to get a win, any way, before the break.

So happy for Sabitzer, that was slick. The US announcers were negative about him but I thought he played well. McT is just not good enough but needed with Casemiro out. I think ETH needs to fill up the midfield. Have Rashford and Antony/Sancho/Pellistri in front of Sabitzer/Fred/Bruno/Cas (when back)McT. I appreciate Wout's hold up play but he needs bench time.

Maguire terrifies me, wish Victor would play over him. Shaw was very off today but sweet cross for Sabitzer.

Happy for Sancho too, poor game until that awesome composure maybe it will help him kick on.

Finally, thanks DDG and well done Antony.

It's was a cluster feck . And we got away with it. Eth imo will know that . Will look at it, and address it. The break now is a good thing some players can get extra training others can get a bit of rest, get away with there international sides change is as good as a rest. Fred Imo should have started that game today. Mctom wasn't at it Sabitzer is OK. Rashford needs help.

Antony imo has been excellent for us in the last few games . He's learning how the football here is different from Holland. .. we go into the semis now, I want a final v City please with all our players fit and available to get the best result.

I’m shocked so many in the transfer threads said they wanted Mitrovic…he’s a perfectly fine player but he has loads of faults and his temperament issues were on full display today.

He’d last about week before the cafe would totally turn on him…

What an utterly bizarre, mental game.

Just someone put Maguire out of his misery already.

Fulham should have won that had they not imploded, idiots.

Nah nah it is. I'm just looking at the performance as a whole. We needed two red cards to beat Fulham.
Winning isn’t always just about performance…and it rarely transfers from game to game as many fans always seem to think. Just look at the results around the Liverpool game for both us and them…

Fulham blew their own Travellers off BUT if Willian hadn't handled it would have been a goal! 1-1. On recent record we'd have gone on to score another couple as bad as we'd been prior. Not the first time we've had matches like that this season is it?

We are a team of moments and struggle to control games especially without Eriksen but we have some wonderful players that can produce special individual brilliance and moments

This is just a weird post. We're missing literally most of our spine (although admittedly Martial has been MIA all season) and you took no joy in a jammy win?

I'm still laughing my arse off and enjoyed every moment of knocking out yet another bunch of game raising cnuts.

Did you see Fulham surrender pathetically in their last few games because they were saving themselves for this? I fecking love it
