The fact Ole hasn’t taken a job since can only mean he’s turned stuff down - surely, you’d think he’s had offers. He took us to third, second and a Europa league final, yet hasn’t been heard from since while Frank Lampard is walking into PL jobs without trying.
Lampard being English helps.

It doesn't really matter at this stage, does it? Lampard certainly has a comical look to it, but there isn't much to be gained this season so whether it's Lampard or the world's best tactician they're going to struggle to win the CL with this team and there isn't much going on in the league.

I thought it might be good to get the permanent manager in to assess the squad and start building a way of playing, but there's something to be said for a clean slate in the summer as well.

The big winner is Lampard as he gets a golden chance to restore his reputation if he can get some talented players heading in the right direction. If he doesn't do that, well...that's the status quo and his reputation is low anyway.

I heard they're getting Enrique ? Great option unfortunately. I think he'll transform them.

Seems utterly daft to give it to someone who already failed. Why not just leave Potter in place if this was the intention.

Think about it. This is the best news ever. I will thoroughly support him as there is every chance Boehly appoints him full time. Then we grab the popcorn.

lampard is only being interviewed as part of an exhaustive process to ensure they get the right man. if enrique parrots any of the shit that lampard comes out with during his interview, then you know he’s not the man for the job. frank is just a canary.

Spent millions to sack Tuchel, spent millions to sack Potter, bringing in the guy they spent millions sacking so they could bring in Tuchel.

I like it when it's other clubs doing stupid things and not us. See also Spurs.

I really like your optimism, much better than posts like we are doomed.
Having said that, he is not going to win the CL. Di Matteo was a bit of a cup manager, won the FA Cup the same season with you guys, too. He at least knew how to get 11 men to defend.

Hopefully he does well enough to fool Todd Boehly into giving him the permanent job.

One can only hope

Avram Grant also took us to within a slip of a Champions League win. If Grant and Di Matteo can do it, so can Franky Champsleage.

The amount of bile some have for such a bland figure in Lampard is equal parts disturbing and fascinating... And my most solid theory at the moment is that this is carryover grudge from "favorable" treatment he got from the media compared to Ole at the time, which... Why hold it against him?

Lampard is a fraud of a manager. Everyone knows it except for Chelsea fans.

We need Fat Frank to win a few matches though, like you say. He needs a big 5 year contract.

I don’t care about that personally but some Utd fans on here will definitely hold a grudge, which is just weird.

I just don’t like Tory Frank. Never have. Chelsea are a chavvy, Tory supporting club and Fat Frank is perfect for them.

But they haven’t faced the clinical Havertz coached by sir Lampard yet. They’re in for a rude awakening.

Frank and JT in the dugout. Pie mash and liquor in the canteen. God Save the King blasted on the loud speaker pre match. 6 pints after training. Off after in a black cab (feck Uber!) to John's house for a lap dance from his Mum.

This is what being proppa Chels is all about. Frank's at the Wheel and we're fackin lovin it.

Big ears in June. Simple as that mate.

Yeah well, about that. About half the Chelsea squad was there when he last managed them, getting sacked halfway into his second season because they were playing some really shit football and not getting results. Reece James, Thiago Silva, Kante, Kovacic, Havertz, Pulisic, Ziyech etc etc. They watched a team that had never been great under him turn from mostly pretty good to very bad, and then they were part of things when Tuchel came in and immediately turned them back into a better team than they ever were under Lampard.

What are those guys thinking now? Are they thinking "Frank's back, now things will be better"? Are they keen to help restore Lampard's reputation, and maybe see him get the job permanently?
