How often does Antony & AWB have to play on the right side to understand the opposition gets little joy due to their partnership ? The toxic attitude against Antony is wild. He was our only threat for most of the game until Garnacho came on. Sancho and Martial are easy to defend against and thus Antony gets over his fair share of attention from their defense. Suggesting in the same position Antony doesn't score Garancho's goal is using a verbal bullshit. Only other player we have is Rashford who in similar position would score that. You get Garnacho, Rashford and Antony up front this is a different game. Garnacho is a special player and he has got is sadly what Sancho hasn't. There is a player somewhere in Sancho but it's not going to be seen at Old Trafford.

Beacaue he is hands down our best option on the right? And not the problem in our front three that consists of a number 9 that looks out if breath after ten mins?

Why is it so hard for some of you, especially staff members to own up to talking out of their arses from time to time? It's ok man
Hadn't realised disagreeing with staff was 'inappropriate behaviour'

Small triumph I guess but with this result being a clean sheet it means De Gea will officially be the golden glove winner either on his own or tied with either Alisson, Pope and/or Ramsdale.

Ten Hag got his subs spot on today, Fred and Weghorst increased the energy and tempo when it was needed, Garnacho great on the counter and what a goal!

Nonsense of the highest order.
Poor decision making in the final third = less goals = less points = less chance of earning a CL spot. Nice pass to Martial, but players really do need to be held accountable for holes in their game, otherwise we will never improve.

I thought Antony today was very poor. He got so many chances to make the right pass today but except the goal - didn’t get his head up. The one from the Wolves defender slip was the worst!!

Hope Ten Hag can iron this out of his game next season!
I like Antony even though he frustrates me at times. If he could only grow a right leg - it could double his effectiveness and make those defending him have to think.

Strange game, felt as if we were hanging on. A good 3 points, garanacho should start next match.

I've finally discovered our problem in the final third. Its called Antony

With a little bit more composure to pick out a pass rather than shoot he could have set up 3 tap ins for players today , and been man of the match by a mile.

I was more encouraged with what I saw today from him , there is a good player there if we can unlock him and he is willing to learn.

Other than the goal, Martial was actually very poor, no acceleration, no fight, can't set up a teammate.

We need someone in midfield play as good as Bruno, unfortunately Eriksen is too old, he has the ability but his immobility is hurting the team play.

Sancho should go, he plays like a pussy: dancing around with no end product and no fight, sell him and get funds for a ST/CMD.

The defense plays very well, including Maguire.

Garnacho, he is our hope to beat City and get the 4th spot.

Have to finish more chances, decision making was poor on many occasions.

Players need to learn when to play a risky pass and when to keep it simple. Do nothing, and the chance goes byebye.

We are more and more looking like not a well trained team. Our passes and link up play at attacking was really bad. This problem has been the same under 5 mangers now post SAF.

3 more games to go and hope we qualify for CL and improve further under ETH

Antony makes some poor decisions. Needs to be worked on but he is a threat. People seem to ignore how hard he works at times as well. He does his defensive duties well apart from the odd occasion when he switches off but that's wingers in general for you.

I dont think that's true. The first 15 minutes you could see what they have had drilled into them. It just seems to die off. We were playing some lovely football through their press early on.

Good game that we fully controlled overall. The poor decision making in the final 3rd is killing us. Antony makes the wrong call 9 times out of 10 and it's incredibly frustrating.

It's the time to be happy, boss. It's rare that we win game lately.

We need a team of fighters that play for the shirt for 90 minutes with good quality.

Some cogs need replacing in the team 100%

Hugest 3 points of the season. We get the next 3 and we should be ok with the two remaining home games but we need to seal it over the next two so we can rest players for the cup final.

It's nice playing a team with nothing to play for because they barely pressed when De Gea had the ball, and that causes us so many problems. We needed De Gea to have zero shots as when he's low on confidence anything can go in

Yeah, Antony was not good. He was involved, I'll give him that. But far too many of our attacks broke down at his feet. His end product is a deep concern.

He got an assist, had a good shot brilliantly saved, tracked back all the time, tackled, got involved...

I'm not sure how much more we can except from a young player coming from the Dutch league, playing his first PL season. You lot are very harsh on him.
all of that is fair- but the problem is that he is a right winger. He needs to have end product on top of the hard work. I think his assist was mostly Bruno being smart. He played the ball into an area where Antony could not have tried his left foot predictable curler.

I like Antony - as he has personality and works hard. But I do think he needs to have much better decision making. We add 10-15 goals to this team if he starts getting his head up!

Every game he plays, we can point to 2-3 situations where he has taken an unnecessary shot instead of passing the ball.

for e.g., On that excellent run he had from our penalty box to theirs, if he looks up once he is free from the two defenders- he has 2 players open and one on one on the keeper. He just keeps running and takes a shot which is blocked by 2 defenders.

You’re being incredibly harsh here. If he were as clinical as this you’d be Looking at a 100 goal involvement per season winger

Amazing what a week's rest does for a team. And Varane in the back line too - much better. A few otherwise good teams will soon learn the pain of playing Thursday -Sundays next season, I hope it's not us.

At this stage of the season, with how knackered we are and the context of Top 4 race, that is a super result and that's all that needs to be said at this point.

Got the job done in the end but another game that we couldn’t kill off. We’re fine defensively, Wolves did barely nothing and it was only nervy because of our inability to take chances but yeah we need to be more clinical next season.

Yes agreed. If I didnt recall wrongly, his assist today was from his right leg. If he had shifted to his left leg the opportunity would have been gone. He just need to vary slightly and tease the opponent with his right leg once a while, he can become a much difficult opponent to handle. Currently the opposition just need to defend his cut in and shot from left leg as that is what he did 99% of the time. Very rarely you have players like robben and david silva who are extremely one footed but still can excel because they have perfected that master leg and technique.

He was better than Sancho and Martial. Yes he made some poor decisions but he’s always involved, had an assist, started the move for the 2nd and is defensively excellent

The problem with us in the final third is our attackers are poor, not just Antony.
Antony actually tries and has potential.
You have Sancho and Martial doing absolutely nothing all game. No ball progression, barely any dribbles or takeons, just filling space.
In fact, I'll go further. I personally think Martial is the most overrated player in the league.
Why? Because our fans don't really see him for what he is and has always been. It's not attitude, it's not effort, it's always been ability.

He lacks agility, he finds impossible to actually play of his right side, which is why he's always been so poor of the right wing (he's actually very one footed), due to this he can only really dribble cutting in from the left ( which he requires space to do). His shooting technique is very limited, so he finds it very difficult to create space to shoot, literally relying on the right angles for placement. His aerial threat is almost non-existant, he has no predatory instincts, barely runs off the ball and he can barely sustain a press. Since his return, even his link up has been relatively poor. This feature was also overrated.

Add this to Sancho. Sancho doesn't offer anything. He only does a take on from a standing position, without the intention of actually using the space on the occassions it's succesful. He passes back at the sign of any danger, doesn't get involved in the game and is also as much of an issue in the press as Ronaldo was when he was here. He's another one with limited technique. Whether passing or shooting, he gets no power on the ball, everything just comes off very tame and non threatening from him.

Yet somehow, Antony, the one who was involved in almost all our attacks. Putting himself out there despite his limitations, is the one being pointed out in the attack? At least he has intensity, at least he has a plan of what he wants to do and he doesn't hide. I wish we had gotten a better player, but he's far better for us that Martial and Sancho.

Yes, the best and the worst of Antony in one cameo. Blistering speed and skill to set up the opportunity, terrible decision making to ruin it!

But I'm convinced there's a player in Antony if Ten Hag can get him to improve his decision making and final ball. He has a bit of fight and attitude about him. Sancho on the other hand is a dead loss.

Great 3 points! Beat Bournemouth away and I have a feeling we’ll only need one draw from our last two home games to seal a CL spot. Fingers crossed!
