Do you want West Ham to win tonight?

They seem to hate United so purely based on that I'd say no. I'm completely apathetic about both clubs however.

Totally indifferent >?

More importantly, is there really worth in a 3rd tier UEFA competition? I though they got rid of the cup winners cup for exactly that reason, just have a bigger second tier instead ?
I think a 3rd competition has been re-introduced because clubs from smaller leagues / nations were saying they wanted more opportunity to reach a group stage and have European competition - and, for some, more realistic ambitions to win it compared to the CL or even the EL. As more and more teams from the top nations were being included in the other two.

Which is fair, I think - not every competition has to be for the top teams to justify it's existence. The problem comes, as regards the winners, with the fact that it's still likely to be won by teams from the top leagues - just less glamorous ones like West Ham and Florentina, or teams that have ended up in it after a poor season by their standards in the PL, La Liga, Serie A, etc.

As regards the final, as I said earlier, definitely prefer to see Florentina win it rather than one of our PL 'rivals' and their horrible ABU fans.

I would love to see him win a trophy after his tumultuous personal journey in football. Football is not easy, especially when you are associated with failing at United.

It’s nice to see an English team in a European final that I don’t give a shit about for a change, so yeah why not.

Father in law is a time served Hammer as well, so would be nice to see, just for him.

It’s an English team in the final, absolutely

heck, I’d even support city if it meant stopping Madrid from winning another CL title.

Only team I’ll never wish to win a final is Liverpool though, never Liverpool.

That's an interesting one. I presume the Liverpool reason is based on them being club rivals, but you don't extend that to Man City, especially, or any of the other PL rivals? You'd be happy for every other English team to win, including City and Leeds?

Don’t feel one way or another about WH.

But I’d like to see Moyes win a European honour.

Moyes needs a break. So yes. Poor guy was slated for something he wasn't responsible for.

Would be an actual chievement rather than saying he managed a QF against Bayern or beat Barca .

Don’t care either way. Awful fan base. Moyes will find an opportunity to talk about us (something ridiculous like how he has won a European “trophy” more recently than us).
However I will be happy for Rice for about 10 seconds and then switch off my TV.

Eden Arena has a 19,000-person capacity! For a European final between 2 traditional clubs that is shockingly small

Liverpool yes - i'd say they are our main club rival and the history goes back decades. Don't want to see them winning anything to be honest.

The point I made with City was more a specific scenario were they to face Madrid in a final instead of Inter - who (Real) I feel have been a tad fortunate to win as many titles as they have done recently. In that one specific instance, I might support City. Would City be playing AC Milan for example, I'd be throwing my weight behind Milan. City have just become this annoying little brother who before was not much more than a sperm swimming around a big ocean with other little sperms but then got lucky when they bumped their way into the golden egg.

No point talking about Leeds as I don't expect them to be in a Euro final before my time is up - but I also have to admit I did enjoy watching some of the football Leeds played back when they had Kewel / Viduka etc (at the same time they did have some right thugs in that team who I didn't like much)

Don't think there are any more "rivals" and were Arsenal to be in this season's CL final I'd happily support them. Good for English football isn't it?

My neighbour and his kid are Hammers, so it's a yes from me.

A small part of me wants to see Moyes choke, though.

They've misjudged the competition.

The assumption is that it's lower level, but the teams that make the last 4/8 look comfortably at home in the knockouts of the Europa and are better than a few that get into the CL group stages.

Next season Villa are in it with Juventus, Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt - and that's before the drop downs, some of whom may have even started in the CL Play Off stage.

By the quarter finals, it's essentially Europa League 2.

Yeah I would like for them to win it. Certain English teams think these cups are beneath them(Spurs) it's nice to see a team like West ham take it serious. They had a horrible league campaign but never threw away the cup to concentrate on the league.

I don't really have feelings for West Ham either way - so yes, I think it would be wonderful for the Hammers-fans to win

Do we have an West Ham fans on the caf at all? I can’t think of any. If they win no doubt a few will sign up like Leicester’s lot did

Were you delighted when City knocked Madrid out?

I don't mind.

...But those Fiorentina colours are damn beautiful I have to say. If it's a battle of fashion then i'm going for the Italians.

My first memory of football is drawing to West Ham, losing the league to Blackburn. A 4 year old me in tears. For this reason I’ve always hated them. Probably my most hated club after our proper rivals. I want them to lose.
