Honestly I’m thankful to Chelsea. Mount would have been just another addition to the sea of mediocrity in our squad

Creativity isn't really our issue. Bruno, Eriksen, Sancho and Anthony create more than enough, it's control and energy deeper in midfield we lack and finishing ability up top.
Yeah definitely need to still find that player who can control things from deep. Think Erik has finally realised it will never be De Jong

I agree that we lack control, energy and finishing but creativity is also an issue. Only Bruno creates really. For wingers, Sancho and Antony don't create enough. Just look at Saka and Martinelli in comparison.

Even Rashford did awful at creating chances this season.

It certainly needs to be improved, but if we're working with a limited budget, we can get by with what we have and eeking out some improvement in Sancho and Antony. That's why I personally prefer Caicedo or that ilk, as a first signing. I still think we need a player like him even if we get Mount, so I don't mind how the squad ends up in terms of personnel, more that we have the profiles we're missing.

Well if you compare per90 stats of Sancho and Saka, there are two main points :
Sancho has a higher Expected Assists per 90 and a makes more passes leading to a shoot per 90. Even their dribbling stats are not that different.
Sancho is underwhelming but it’s also unfair to blame him for not being creative when truth is we had finishing issues. We can blame Sancho for not taking enough shooting chances however.

I can’t post picture but you can just have a look at fbref to get the player comparison

I read the notification as Harry signed a 4 year deal at United and I threw my coffee at puppies.

They're doing that tactic because we've proven that it works with us. We've overpaid for almost every single player we've bought in the last 10 years.

We need to move away from that. This is the easiest negotiation we'll have. Player wants the move, only one year left contract, had make himself really clear on not renewing hid contract, Chelsea squad is overload and need to sell. If we can't even get a fair price in this situation we'll never will. Bending would be the stupidest thing and would only increase the United tax.

I wouldn't even had offered 50M but as we have, the smart move to make is set a deadline if Chelsea doesn't accept then really move on. Let the world now we're capable of moving away from a target if the price is not right.

No I'm not as it happens. But I just feel Sancho may come good. All those who want to sell him maybe right I just feel there is a really talented player in there.
There were definitely some very slight signs of improvement in Sancho’s game in the last 8-10 games of the campaign. Wasn’t he our 3rd highest league goal scorer last season? Shows you how few goal scorers we have.

Certainly it would be nice to see how he does with a legit striker to set up as opposed to the black hole that is Weghorst or Martial.

He doesn’t have any fight in him mate. He would suit a side that never comes into any problems and that isn’t this league. Maybe a Barcelona, lately they fold when they come against a physical side so he would fit like a glove.

He's had two years. Don't know what you see in him.
Transfer for a decent fee is worth doing IMO
If you have not developed or improved after two years at a 'top' club, then it says something about him, or maybe even more depressingly, something about us as a team.

Sancho has real talent, but showed his best football when he was at dortmund playing alongside Haaland, who was the perfect foil for him. Playing alongside weghorst, the defender knows he doesn't need to track WW's run, as he is not going to be passed the ball, and even if he is, he won't score. If he had a real strike partner I think we would see him return to his former self.

Martial is also getting a lot of disrespect in here. He is another talented footballer, and (generally) we have looked like a good team when he has been playing. The issue is his fitness, and for that reason I would be happy to cut ties, but the best I think we can hope for is a pay as he plays type of loan deal, as noone is buying him outright on those wages.

Sancho played at United for 18 months before WW arrived so that's no excuse, and Martial gets disrespect because he's earned it with his sulky and half-assed attitude

Martial couldn't even get in the Seville team, at his best yes he could be world class, however that is so infrequent as to be non-existent and at 46 years old I could make a more of a effort pressing than Martial does

As for Sancho, I never saw it for England, everybody raved about him at Dortmund but every time I watched England he was very underwhelming, and nothing has really changed for me since he has been at Utd, he may be just one of those players that does not fit the Prem or Man Utd, don't know but he is really is last chance saloon.... that said I thought he played much better the final few games on the right so maybe he could do better on that side, even then a player who is active for less than half a match even when playing well is heck of an expense to carry, especially when you see players like Bruno, Rashford and Antony giving it all from minute 1 through to 90

Don't even start on Ronaldo. At least WW makes the run, Ronaldo just stands and demands the ball, which worked when he was 25 or 30 and the best player in the world, but last season he was terrible, and the year before he was good for himself, but made the team look far worse.

Sign Caicedo. Rescind offer for Mount. Tell Chelsea price is now 40m, take it or leave it.

We already have Casemiro. Too defensive in my opinion. Although, I would think it would be a great pairing at tough away grounds.
I mean, given our horrendous away form last year it'd be worth it just to sort that out.

The latest talk is of Martial going to Saudi. It could well be the making of him - playing in a warmer climate. Easier on the muscles, which have been his main recurring injuries. Remember, we got him from Monaco, the south of France, and it could well be that the climate in the north of England didn't suit him.
