I wasn't even aware that Rick Astley and Blossoms teamed up to cover the Smiths until I read it here.

Listening to it now. Brilliant.

Gotten on well with many of Zebs' shouts but haven't managed to get over the name to give Black Country, New Road a go yet. Just terrible. I read the story and I'm even more annoyed.

Please tag me in all future compliments, I need the ego boost.

They used to be called Nervous Conditions, if that helps?

True!

I'm not even that much of a fan, but I respect the talent. The earlier albums have some great stuff too, even if I'm not interested in the more stylised recent stuff.

It just makes me laugh that of all the people to have a go at, they pick one of the clearly most talented people doing it
Being popular ≠ being talented.

This tweet came at an appropriate moment. The majority of people seem to agree Swift lacks talent.

Those vocals

I don’t think it helps my ex partner adored Swift and I was forced many times to endure each and every song of hers. I hated them more and more with each listen. Therefore I am biased and remove myself from this argument

Where to start with this tweet, could go for anyone from Styles to Drake to Grennan to Central Cee.

I thought Blossoms and Astley was just one song, but I've found it was a whole set its oddly glorious, I should hate it really but I don't I'd love them to do a mini tour of this I'd go for sure
They could easily do a giant tour off the back of that.

It is no surpise tbh, Asltey has serious pipes with charsima and Blossoms are a tight band.

Finally home and had a long shower followed by a significantly longer nap.

It really was an incredible weekend. The weather was amazing, even if the heat gets a bit much at times. Never thought I’d be watching Rick Astley twice in one day but what a guy and his set with Blossoms was so much fun. Think I’ll take a Rick flag if I get tickets next year.

Guns N’ Roses were great and I’ve heard lots of comments about Axl’s voice on the broadcast, but he honestly sounded good in the field… even if he’s clearly beyond his peak. It was a just a great set and they rocked the main stage. For me, it was better than Arctic Monkeys the night before.

Elton John last night was amazing but I have to say… I was flagging a bit at this point as Glasto is a real endurance battle tbh. All in all, had an even better time than last year and whilst it feels harder to get tickets every year… I’ll be trying again in a few months.

Yeah, I loved that. They did a great job. Rick seemed like he was having the time of his life up there!
Yeah they were all great-the band were flawless and RA did the songs justice, apart from the odd cock up. Until he did “Never Gonna Give You Up”with the Foo Fighters, who knew Rick had it in him?

Was also playing some AC/DC on the drums during his set! The man has it all

I would love to see Iron Maiden play here, personally. Saturday night. Be fecking epic, I reckon.

Although I don't think Bruce Dickinson is that fussed about it.

I was just thinking the same before and was reading a page with this in.

However, the band’s lead vocalist, Bruce Dickinson, couldn’t care less that he has never been asked to perform at the legendary British festival. Speaking to The Telegraph, he voiced his strong opinion on the matter.

He said: “We don’t give a monkey’s because the people that get us are not the people that run the music business establishment, whatever that is, because that is largely run by people that can’t make a living doing anything else.”

His opinion shouldn’t come as much of a shock to fans. In 2014, he called the festival “the most bourgeois thing on the planet”.

So I dont expect them to get an invite for 2024

Not particularly in to Iron Maiden and Dickinson's military obsession made it impossible for me to get in the spirit the one time I saw them.

Yeah, I've seen these quotes. Fair to say he's not a fan!

Strange that they have never been invited though. They seem perfect for it. I think they would get the place hype as feck, personally.

Bourgeois seems like the wrong word. I'd have gone for midbrow personally. Horses for courses though.

Midbrow is a very bourgeois choice of word.

Yeah I can understand that, but for your £350 you get every stage see how ever many acts you can and 4-5 days camping , I think not bad value when you consider, you can pay £100-150 for a concert ticket.
Yeah, in the relative scheme of these things it is value for money

True although I guess that speaks to the insane costs of concert tickets. Glastonbury has turned into a mini holiday to watch retirement acts instead of a weekend binge(Tickets used to be less than £100).

Oddly enough Glastonbury this year was far more bougie than Charles coronation concert. Strange world.
