Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
‘1969’ by The Stooges (with a few slight alterations…)

Well it's 1969 OK
Glazers hide in the USA
It's another page for me and you
Another page with nothing new

Last season City won, won, won
We didn't have a lot of fun
And now it’s Ten Hag’s season 2
Big Dave’s gone, Onana’s due

Well it's 1969 OK

If you believe that people landed on the moon this is when it supposedly happened.

If you're not a sheep then you know the government filmed the whole thing in a studio and built a showpiece rocket

1969: the year man first set foot on the moon. Which at this rate will probably end up happening again before the club is sold.
I’ll think your find that was a German in 1942 but we were just never told secret space force probably started in the 60’s though !

Do we even have any twitter sources expecting updates soon? This has become ridiculously quiet to the point I went from thinking about it several times a day to not even thinking about it for a day or so now..

Nope, even the Twitter fraudsters have got bored and given up. I'd say the social media (or even general) interest in the takeover is at an all time low.

I would not be surprised if the Glazers use this summer transfer window timeline to add even more pressure on SJ, like: if you want to have a decent next season and spend big, you better hurry up before the window is closed

They had the technology to go to the moon in 1969.

The did not have the technology to fake the moon landing in 1969.

It was always in the cards. All clubs would have allocated the transfer window budget last summer or at least six months ago. Scenario planning.
The issue would have been how big (or not as in the current scenario) could we have gone if we had new owners come in.
The transfer budget wouldn't have been improved had new owners come in.

New owners would not affect the FFP restrictions United are currently under.

There's many things this thread has done terribly but becoming the least interesting source for 20th century history is an unexpected addition.

That's horseshit...

...they filmed it outside in the desert.

It's strange to see everyone dropping interest in this. Looks like the Glazers are going to get one over us fans again.
Feels that way, played like a violin, again..!!

Who is paying for transfers? Thats what I want to know.

It says alot of what is going on if you ask me. Glazers dont pay lump sums up front. Mount and Onana are 100 million. Whos 100 million?
If there is new owners imminent how can the Glazers agree to spend someone elses money over a number of years?

The only rational explanation is that they are staying. Why would they be investing in the team if they are going? makes no sense.

Time to face the fact they are not going anywhere. #Glazersin

It's too late for this summer transfer window now for whoever takes over. The earliest a takeover would be completed now is September/October.

I can’t get my head round this. If true, it would be unprofessional from Raine.
The Glazers are poison.
The Glazers are probably dragging it out to see if either buyer gets nervous and raises their bid again.

They would, not to a ridiculous extent, but they could affect it should they choose to. First is our transfer debt to the tune of £50m, and owners can put in £90m over 3 years period to cover operational losses, which the Glazers have put in... 0.

So if both of those happens we can effectively triple our budget for this summer.

That said, it is worth noting that INEOS boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe has a lifelong dislike of stock markets and minority shareholders, so his would be a staged takeover that would see his firm buy out the remaining Glazer shares, and everybody else’s, in time.

But by structuring his deal in this way, and by letting some or all of the Glazers stick around for a while, Ratcliffe’s bid values United slightly more highly than the Qatari bid which means the Glazers would get a little bit more for their shares from him than Sheikh Jassim.

This is why the INEOS bid was widely considered to be the favourite in late May, when it sounded like Sheikh Jassim might even pull out of the race. But that defeatist talk did not last long, as the Nine Two Foundation got back in the game with a fifth and final offer in early June that effectively closed the valuation gap.

Surely we should be at the preferred bidder stage by now. It's just rank amateur all round.

It has gone very quiet in recent weeks, we haven’t even had the usual BS either.

It’s either happening behind closed doors and something is going on, or they’ve closed up shop and decided not to sell. If it’s the latter I sincerely hope there’s a riot inside the stadium and we stop every home game for the foreseeable future. This is the final straw.

Can you expand on the second point
This video is really good:

Writer/director S G Collins of Postwar Media debunks every theory that the Apollo Moon landings could have been faked in a studio. The filmmaker takes a look at the video technology of the late 1960's, showing alleged fraud was simply not possible.

Glazers have probably seen how our fanbase is content with spending nothing in Jan and making a couple of signings in summer that should be WELL within our financial capability and decided that they can bleed the club dry heaving j this mantra for a few more years.

Has to be the final straw. Nothing is more important then getting them gone. The aim should be to cause so much upheaval that the PL makes us play behind closed doors - then they might make a decision.
