We have to remove 6 points from our attainable points. Away at city and away at Liverpool.

Scores of 2-4, 5-0, 4-0 and 7-0 in our recent games against our biggest rivals. Them tonking us so regularly with ease is shameful.

The 2-4 got them into the champions league for the 21-22 and they almost got the quadruple.

Taking them lightly had always been the theme for United players and this forum in general.

They currently have one of the top 2 managers in the world and yet writing them off so easily without any logic other than new players settling in is just

Liverpool are not in a mess, this thread is a bit of a nonsense (well the title certainly is). The have some excellent players, some good players and a few average players. Very similar to ourselves. They have added legs for the way they want to press, plus the fact they have one of the best managers in the world.

The thread was made in January when Liverpool were indeed treading water at best.
No idea why it’s appeared again, but I do think Liverpool currently will struggle if they don’t refresh their defence.
Others either feel the same or are hopeful that Liverpool don’t use their inhalers this year.

Van Dijk is cooked.
Think they’ll struggle defensively if he is still the lynchpin.
Question marks over the midfield even with lavia.
Up front if salah can keep going they’ll probably be ok, it’s the area of the pitch they are most stacked in, but overall unless everything really clicks (which it can do) am not overly bothered by their potential.

I think you bought potentially very good players, but I think like others that changing too much at 1 time isn't a great thing.
Lavia has good potential but is inexperienced, Szoboszlai is super talented but Leipzig played him a lot in a wide midfield role to get others in centrally. Mac Allister should be good if you can get the balance with the others right.
Then there's the intangibles that you are losing with 3 leaders leaving.

Listen, it might work, it might all click straight away, all I'm saying is I'd be uncomfortable hitting the gorund running with a full new engine room, that's why I was very hesitant in Arsenal losing both Partey and Xhaka in the 1 window.

Too early to say that they are a mess, but they're a club in transition. There's been a lot of changes over the last 18 months and it's hard to say exactly where they are just now. I think they still have one big change, a new manager, to go before they are realistic title challengers again.

I've literally come from there where the Trent post was on my suggested wall so went and had a look, did think that was a tad excessive.

They will also benefit massively from being in the Europa, so will be able to rest and rotate midweek.

I concede these 10 additional points may not guarantee top 4 though as Chelsea, Newcastle and Utd may all finish with above 80 points judging by their purchases and new management, settling in, etc.

Slightly different though given the age and experience profile of the signings.

When you sign players like Eriksen and Casemiro you expect them to hit the ground running, that's part of the the point of signing them rather than younger players with greater shelf life but less experience at the highest level. And they were being added alongside Bruno, another player coming into his peak years who was already bedded in to the club.

It's a bit unfair to have the same expectations of the Liverpool signings given their profile.

VvD is a concern just like Fabinho and Henderson were last season and this summer. I think we will go big on defenders in January or next summer. If Jota, Diaz, Gakpo and Nunez start performing under Klopp then we will hardly notice the transition from Mane/Firmino/Salah. Big if though, as Klopp would need to hang around for longer. He's the only irreplaceable guy at the club.

The big obstacle for them is the EL. Even if they don’t take it seriously they’re up against Spurs and Chelsea only playing one game a week and not constant dead times of 12/2pm on a Sunday for most of the season.
It’ll be better for them going out altogether than playing some mixed starting 11 while pretending it has no impact
