Reece James has been phenomenal here also Sterling put in 2 great crosses. No idea who taught him how to kick a ball but cleanly but they deserve a medal.

Only been a single half but haven't seen much evidence of a defined Chelsea unit yet. They feel a bit ad-hoc. Doesn't make them unthreatening, but with such wholesale changes perhaps they need more time to become cohesive.

:D. You think it's that easy that 1 player solves all their problems.

Liverpool have 0 firepower bar Salah. Add loss of form, injuries etc. Liverpool cycle of dominance ended long time ago.
Their front 3 is an handful no matter what. They’ve got plenty of creativity. They’ve got a decent defence. They haven’t got a DM someone who protects the defence and dictates the game. I think once they get a Fabhino replacement then they’ll be sorted. I hope I’m wrong though obviously. Could do with them being bad again this year

Chukwuemeka should be taken off at half time and replaced by Mudryk. Today's game has really passed him by.

Good game. Chelsea looked much better after scoring. Liverpool are still suspect at the back but look strong going forward.

What's he actually done today? Because I'm struggling to see it. Seems like the pogba defence is used for him a lot.
Chelsea are so dominant on that right side because he's starting all the attacks. He also set up the chance for the offside goal.

Stirling starting to look a bit better than most of last season and looking to be a bit slimmer.

Enzo Fernandez is fecking quality. He'll look so much better when the rest of the Chelsea team is balanced.
Yeah, he's the real deal, excellent player. Pair him with Caicedo and that's an top class midfield duo.

That is really the case for most midfielders, no?

It's not about looking good, but he can't do much when partnered with these players. Odd timing, by the way. Did you not see him control the tempo and spraying excellent passes in the last 20 mins, which is one of the reasons Chelsea actually managed to get back in the game?
I don’t, I am not watching. I am finishing a nap in Spain, waiting my children to wake up and go to the beach.

Decent half. Definitely a pleasant surprise considering no Nkunku. We need our attacking players to actually score. Thought we'd seen the end of 5 at the back. With James and Chilwell I guess.

Liverpool not great defensively and so far and don't look like the near 100 point team of a couple of years ago.

Martin Tyler retiring is the best thing to happen to football since the premier league inception, regardless of who you support, this game proves it.

Literally the very first time this defense has played together. In a totally different setup that we played in preseason. Against one of the best attacking fronts in Europe.

Shaky as feck to start understandably, but grew into it.

He is a young player. Coming to this sh*t show and being seen as the savior can be a disaster for him.

I don’t see how Chelsea will come good. They have no leaders in the dressing room anymore. It’s sucidal strategy to only have young players.
Ye it’s like they’re building a completely different team but they’ve got to count them selves out of title races then and just concentrate on getting better each season. Thing with having a young team is you don’t benefit until like the 2nd/3rd season playing together.

Yeah... he is a handful for the defenders.. and might be a good finisher.. but his play looks pretty poor..
Poor mans Lukaku.
He didn't look like that in pre-season, in fact he looked very good technically

Liverpool have zero strategy.
They don't press or stay back. The disorganization is brought about by having less quality players trying to play in a certain way. What is Jota and Gakpo? Nothing to write home. This guy from Brighton who they signed will not take them over the line, even Caicedo if he goes there won't change the course of the ship that much.

Trent by game 20 people will be calling for his head. VVD by game 20 will be letting players shoot as he ball watches.
We will finish above Liverpool very easily bar a catastrophic injury to a Key player for us, like Onana.

Pool look as defensively shaky as they did last season
The back line has no protection from midfield. None of the three we have playing have a defensive bone in their body and it’s shown in that half. Chelsea looked dangerous any time they attacked.

We’ve been good on the ball and awful off of it.

Is he Bruno or KDB type of creative ? I didn’t watch.
Neither, I don't think he's as creative in the final third and stylistically they are quite different but I'd say he's more similar to Fabregas in the creative sense. Not really sure who else to compare him with, to be honest. Maybe Modric?

Caicedo and Nkunku instead of Chukwumeka and Gallgher and we win this game.

I’m gutted Nkunku is out for months.

Chelsea bought so many players and spend so much money in the last year but I still don’t think their starting eleven is very strong. Very strange.

Hoddle on my feed just said Salah's goal should've been given. :wenger:

These idiots have a problem with clear offside goals.

Chukwumeka has to come off at half time. Really poor showing and on a booking with Taylor as the ref.
