Sancho has been ass since coming here, took a sabbatical last year and now this.

Having said that, Antony never seems to suffer from his shite performances, so I can see why some players might be a bit miffed.

All in all, it seems we're at the start of another United boost cycle. What's funny is all the delusionals telling us how it's too early to judge.

This club is feckin poison. It's been cursed for about 10 years and it doesn't seem like changing for many years.

ETH shouldn't be lagging off his players in public but Sancho has been gash ever since he got here. Idk who he thinks he's appealing to with that statement.

Also I think Antony has been bobbins too.

Got to back the manager this time. The club sided with Pogba, Martial et al. and look where that got us. It doesn't even matter if ETH is in the wrong, we can't allow the players to have more power than the manager.

Stupid from both ten Hag saying that and then Sancho firing back. These things should be kept in house. Very juvenile behavior from both of them.
Completely agree. I hope this isn't the start of ETH losing the dressing room as despite what he thinks about Sancho, calling players out in public rarely ends well.

End of the day, Sancho can react or he can use this as an excuse to just phone it in going forward. I think it will be the latter but let’s see. Sancho has 58 appearances and apart from the game vs Liverpool last season I can’t recall much quality. Prove us wrong Jadon!

Unless you're a 'me, me, me' manager, which Jose undoubtedly was and Ten Hag very much appears not to be, a public omission of poor commitment is not the first shot fired. Its what you do when you've tried everything else.

Pretty much everyone wanted him. He was tearing it up in Germany and seemed to be a sure fire transfer success.
Nah. You need to understand that when a player doesn't succeed at United it's because the scouts are shite and everyone else saw it. Or the player was signed for marketing reasons.

He benched Rashford for being 2 minutes late and he responded by coming on and scoring if I remember correctly. Loved Sancho as a player, but seems like Lingard 2.0 attitude wise.

"I've been a scapegoat for a long time"
"I've been shit for a long time". That is what you should have said Sancho.

Since you joined the club, not once did you put in a performance where I thought you were giving it your all or you were playing with a smile. Close to 3 years and you haven't wowed in a single game during that time. I'm fully on ETH side with this one. Don't let the door hit you on your way out Sancho. With the performances you have been putting in, your career is gonna go downhill only anyways.

Difficult to argue that ten Hag has the right to go to the media, but Sancho doesn’t have right of reply in the media.
I don’t normally like it when the manager uses the media to put a player down either. It’s the attention you draw, the divisions you create in the dressing room. It is ultimately the managers job to get the best out of his players, if he gets a positive reaction from him then it looks like good management. Sancho has the ability, but he needs a bit of fire, a rocket up his backside, a bit of passion out there on the pitch.

Bottom line is he's not a player ETH brought in and he lacks the mental and physical strength to play the style that ETH wants to play. I think you sell him in January and try and get another RW in.

This is my reading of it too. Things must have been pretty bad for him to make this decision, because it really isn’t his style.

If he thinks he's a scapegoat in the fans eyes he's way off the mark. He's lucky to be seen as pretty irrelevant instead despite being a Sanchez level drain on the club. He's got off so lightly considering how much of a disaster his signing has been. Ronaldo took all the focus away from him in his first season which meant it went largely under the radar how bad he was.

How would he cope if he got Maguire level abuse?

That's not throwing him under the bus. It had the opposite effect. Everyone sympathized with him.
Mental health is still very different to physical health. It still carries a stigma despite the progressiveness of the modern age, see half the responses in this thread.

Sympathy isn’t always desired and your own mental health can be a very personal thing.

It’s not going to change until there’s a change of ownership unfortunately. They’re the one constant in the circus and we’re making the same mistakes under Murtough/ETH as we made 5/10 years ago

Red Card for Casemiro!
A marquee transfer on 250k+/week without a single game to show why over two years at the club with a significant period of that being in paid absence due to 'personal reasons'.

And your first response to your manager, who rarely calls players out publicly, criticising your training performance over a week (for which you have priors) is to publicly say you "won't allow" it and that EtH is lying?

In a competently run club, he will be and should be frozen out and sold at the first possible opportunity, no matter the loss.

If it wasn't obvious before, it should be now, he doesn't have the mentality to make it at Manchester United right now.

I stand with the manager on this one. Ten Hag gave Sancho three months off to sort himself out, and when he returned his performances did not improve. There have been rumours floating around about Sancho's professionalism and conduct, and you can see why.

We have evidence in how ETH handled his case last year. This seems like the last option.

ETH is quite brutal when something like this happens. Wont be surprised if Sancho never plays again for United. Unless ofcourse if Sancho was targeting something else entirely.

Sancho has form for poor attitude. IIRC, Dortmund were not too enamoured with him, particularly during the first Covid season.

Anyway, he needs to go, whoever's right.

We could release Sancho tomorrow and we’d clearly not miss him from a football standpoint, he’s contributed next to nothing beyond the odd very odd moment here and there. One of the most disappointing signings we’ve made.

So the manager made a call on this fool last week or the Glazers refused the back the managers decision to sell him.

Can this club get any deeper in the mud. Sadly I think some of the players are struggling with the managers ways and I dont think its only Sancho irrespective of whether he is shit or not. The vibe on the pitch doesnt look right.

Not quite 'not playing for the manager' but I do think there is division in the camp...

Barely anyone seemed to have a clue about what kind of player he was, hence all the "he will fix our right wing!!!" posts. Still never expected him to fail this badly though. Truly tragic.

There wasn’t really anything wrong with what ETH said. Sancho’s response shows a pretty clear attitude problem though, and probably explains why he’s been underwhelming in his time here.

Think this deserves its own thread

I gotta say, I never liked managers doing this in public. Rarely achieves anything. Kinda makes it difficult for Sancho going forward.
tenHag didn't say anything wrong. Just that he wasn't selected looking at his training performences.

Players need to get out from social media. They aren't mature enough to handle it.

I think ordinarily unless there's more to it this gets sorted out in 5 minutes before training the next day. Sancho hasn't said anything inflammatory and ETH hasn't said anything other than that he didn't do well enough in training. A big drama over nothing

ETH is making a rod for his own back though publicly calling out players to meet his standards, after a game where he chose to bring on a player who got released from a team that got relegated, and just blatantly wasnt up to qny kind if standards he might be referring to. Theres no point saying shite like this if you only apply it to some players. How to lose a locker room 101.

He was called out at Dortmund too. Seems a terrible trainer and it shows on the pitch.
and england as well. It's a recurring issue with him it seems. If this was Lisandro or Bruno i'd have doubts but Sancho has never given me the impression of being a hard worker. I pick ten Hag on tis one and since Sancho has publicy challenge him I think its over. Sancho wont play again for us.

Bye bye jadon. You've legit been one of the biggest flops in this clubs history.

Do you think he can hand on heart say that he's brought the level required to play for this great club every day through the season?

If we can get good money from the Saudi league in the next 5 days, I'd be happy to see him off.
