No they haven’t. Far from it. They’ve been playing 3223 since last season.
Yeah basically. It reverts to more of a 4141 when defending, I would say.

I believe it is not too different to what EtH is heading towards, in terms of having one of the CBs step into midfield and having the FBs able to come narrow to fill the “void” created by having five players pushed forward.

Problem is we’re not doing it right! Not yet anyway. Plus injuries aren’t helping. Going back to a traditional 4231 would be a regressive step, although, short term, it might happen to some degree.

No4 was quite commonly worn by midfielders in the past. Muhren wore it for us in the past, more recently Hargreaves and Veron.

Makalele, Rijkard and Pep also wore 4 at times.

Pre premier league era, as I recall, 4s were as common in midfield as 5s and 6s.

Probably this has roots in the traditional numbering where 4, 5 and 6 were the “half backs”. When 442 became the norm, one of these no4, no5 or no6 moved into what we now call midfield (and would have been whichever of those guys was most suited to it and then just keeping the number they already wore). That’s why we got a mix of 4s, 5s and 6s in midfield.
Yup ... in some continents, what's commonly called 6 is called a 4 (DM), and the central defenders are 5 & 6

I don't see anything on Google, are tweets just gospel now?

Not surprised. He has been training by himself for so long whilst waiting for Man Utd to come knocking, he was bound to get injured once stuck in high intensity training.

It's confirmed on the official Moroccan FA website.

Google translates it to: "The national team coach, Mr. Walid Regragui, summoned the player, Yahya Jeeran, to replace the injured Sofiane Amrabat."
Precautionary, probably. They said they would be careful with him. They said! Goddammit.

The French version of the statement is exactly this, if anyone wondered if the translation was wonky.

I doubt he’s injured.

It was a qualifier that was a dead rubber as they’ve already qualified, and a friendly.

We probably just wanted him at Carrington.

My thoughts exactly. He’s keeping himself fresh for Brighton Saturday week.

I think it’s just precautionary and been given a rest. Hope he will make his debut against Brighton.

As long as he’s back for next week. Get him a senzu bean he’ll be fine.

Does anyone know why he wanted us so badly? Does he love us that much or was there no-one better in for him?

I know Liverpool were in for him but I'm guessing he didn't want to spend one of his prime years out of the CL.
Seems to be a United fan

Well that and Ten Hag coached him previously and it seems they likely had a good relationship. And presumably the sponsorship opportunities and salary weren't bad either.

We’ve got a little time hopefully he’s fixed before PL rolls around we need him

Is united trying to beat some injury record especially newly signed players who are injured, it is just getting silly now!

The Moroccan confirmed that it's precautionary during the pre-match press conference.
