Erik ten Hag vs Sancho

Because it's over a training ground matter, something which the only outcome is the manager gives the player an ultimatum, fight for your place or you're being sold, it's as simple as that as ten Hag is trying to set stick to rules he's made. The DoF should never be involved in training ground matters, or a player attempting to undermine the manager.
What - not even to support the manager?

I don’t know why everyone is assuming that Murtough/Arnold are getting involved to protect Sancho from bad nasty Erik. That may be what the anti-Eriks are hoping, but all the evidence so far is that they fully back the “football people” on football matters.

What might have happened in the Woodward era is no longer relevant.

Not our job to do background checks
Even if we did make background check and found out he has bit of attitude at Dortmund and tend to be lazy in training, do you really think that would effectively stopped us from signing him?

I mean back then he was only 20, young English lad and very talented kid. Scored 20 goals 20 assists in a season at Dortmund, already one of most productive player in Europe, and was highly rated as top 3 youngsters in the world along the likes of Mbappe and Haaland. He was also good friend of Rashford and wanted to come and join us, and we badly need right wing reinforcement.

And then we have a scout reporting he was kind of lazy in training and has a bit of attitude. And so we called off the transfer? Really?

It doesn't necessarily need to stop a signing, but it should be a reason to look closely at what kind of special care this lazy fecker might need to perform, instead of just assuming that you are going to sign a reasonable sensible and motivated adult.

It's another day for Sancho sitting in one of the academy dressing rooms on his own, with his mental health issues then this won't help him.

The only way to resolve this is for Sancho to gain the managers trust again by training to the expected level, that's it.
It's a player personnel matter (ie. the player isn't playing yet his receiving a salary). The DOF has every right to get involved.

The question we need to ask is:
How are we managing to not get the most out of the players we have?

How good is the management at communicating with the players and coach them to be the best they can be, not only on the pitch and training ground, but in every part of being a professional footballer.
We are talking about kids here, they need guidance almost every step of the way, and Sancho seems to need it more than others. In stead of alianating him, ETH should have worked harder with him. There's a world class footballer in him.

If we give up on him and let him go, he'll explode at the right club.

As positive an outcome as Sancho could've hoped for.

You cannot undermine the manager and expect nothing to happen.

Do you think they're investigating whether they can sack him/reach the sort of agreement they did with Ronaldo?

It's great to see ETH has finally brought discipline to moments FC, I sense Ole was probably like the supply teacher that came in and did fun lessons and people were given a lot of rope...

Shame as he had glimmers of the ability but the application for whatever reason wasn't there

Surely Pellistri will be given a go now?

It was a player breaking rules set by the manager and not training to the required standard, the DoF should not have stood in and allowed the manager to control the matter.

Excellent handling by ETH. He's had so much crap to put up with. Well done to show who's boss. Sancho should have zero people defending him. He was bought for 73 million and gets paid 350K a week. Embarrassing, unprofessional footballer.

Sancho isn't a kid. He's a grown man. There comes a point in life where people need to take responsibility for their own behaviour and be held accountable when they aren't performing as they're expected to

Club should always be greater than a player.

He was paid 80M two years agao and is an absolute flop.

Let him away from the first team until he lose 5kg and apologies.

Good move and statement by the club. Get a couple of commando fitness instructors in to sort his personal training out - might not want to be so lazy after they’ve sorted him out.

We can't cut for free every player that is an issue, especially since in that case (unlike the other recent ones) it seems really manageable.
Cynically, he's also more valuable than Ronaldo.

Same character as Henderson, Lingard and other brittish players that thought they were good players when truth is they are in best case average. Just because you sign contract, that doesn’t mean you are good.

Sell him. Nothing more, nothing less.

I am sick of statements.

What an unnecessary distraction from an already tough start to the season.

He's blown it as far as I'm concerned, and I hope he's the next one out of the door.

I think you are half right here, they are all good players and potentially more.

But they think they have made it and don't have to work anymore... if only they actually knuckled down...

As said in the past when the mental issue surfaced. This whole Jadon story had two endings. He either improve fast or this will end in tears. No one likes to pay a 350k a week employee only to get nothing out of it
