Play him over McTominay, if nothing else you don't lose anything

Worked his absolute bollocks off, constantly picked up the slack from others in the press and made us a lot harder to play through than we have been lately. He got better as the game went on with the ball as well and was one of our better outlets towards the end with his ability to carry the ball a bit. Showed he deserves minutes.

Grew into the game in terms of his passing. And, as usually, worked his ass off, which is always a plus. Somehow he even managed not to get a yellow this time, my boy is learning!

Saying that he was outstanding is a bit much although he stood out compared to how poor our other midfielders were looking tonight.

Feels good to see him perform like that. This kid is a fighter and a talented one at that. Hopefully he builds on this performance

Different dynamic with him. After his cameo against Brighton I was surprised he didn't get minutes Vs Bayern but glad he started today. Hopefully gets more starts now

Good game from him. Don't get the comments saying he should be starting instead of McTominay. He played in a totally different position to him. Amrabat will replace McT, Hannibal will likely be competing with Mount for a starting spot, at least until Antony/Sancho come back.

Thought he was pretty anonymous for the first hour but feck me he was everywhere after that. Fantastic performance and just oozes class.

First half I thought he had all the off ball stuff ( does he ever stop running) but thought he was poor on the ball.

Second half he kept up the running and was good on the ball too. Very encouraging performance overall.

Definitely thought he was going to jump up and react when the Burnley player stood over him shouting; looks like he’s matured a bit.

I don’t think he’ll be world class for us but he’s done enough to start the next game based on this performance. Put an absolute shift in and displayed real maturity and composure on the ball.

Just in case anyone missed it. I don't like Mount.

Very proud of him. :)

Good performance tonight under less than ideal circumstances.

A little sloppy, but overall a good full debut. Just shows that there is talent in the academy that needs to be trusted more.

Dig up stupid!
His energy was great and forced the play on a number of occasions when his teammates were being overly conservative again

He's brave and he's got some quality too. Was a big part of the win today

This kid has a lot of potential. I like him. Hopefully United don't ruin him like the rest of our players.

Grew into a very good performance, kept his energy high throughout and you started to see moments of quality, proper job for the team as well.

I liked his energy and stamina throughout the game. He covered a lot of ground. Very useful today.

I thought he was our best player in the last twenty minutes as we looked to see the game out. His running and energy should be the standard for them all. Shame it takes a kid to show them how to do the basics!

I’m a big believer, although I do think he could have used the ball better on a few occasions. Would like to see him a little deeper.
Yeah - we know he can do much better than what he showed, but he was still one of the best on the pitch. Played with restraint is how I'd describe it, which is perhaps expected considering he was playing among senior players. The more he plays, the more comfortable he'll get

So happy for Hannibal. We've been asking ourselves if he can cut it at the highest level for some time now. Hasn't looked at all out of place against Brighton or Burnley. Hopefully keeps it going (and inspires some other youngsters to force their way into the first team set up).

I’ll eat my shoe if I will see mctominay ahead of him. We need the work rate.

Needs to be better on the ball. But saying that for his first start in the PL he did ok. Lots of energy, very combative. For the type of game Ten Hag wants to play, I think he can be very useful if he improves his quality on the ball. Which I know he actually has

Quite good i thought, though he was tempering his game. No real dribbling, not much of his passing talent on show either. Kept it simple enough. Most importantly, never stopped running

Editing my own posts.
Wasn’t particularly great until the last 10 minutes when he suddenly became the most composed player on the pitch.

21 passes in 90 minutes?
He did look good, but that is shockingly low.

He is used as the runner and his off ball running kept our shape. When he got the ball, he showed his talent. I really want him play in a deeper role.
