the only thing I can say on behalf of ETH is that Poch would have been no better, judging by the way chelsea are playing (of course on wednesday night they'll look like european champions

Maguire looks like a changed man. Otherwise, we're garbage .

Can't understand starting Rashford considering his form, His performance tonight is not unexpected. McTominay just has absolutely no fight in him to challenge anything in the midfield. AWB has been out of position since kick-off. Can't understand ETH's obsession with left-sided/right-sided centerbacks when we're pinned in our box and the opposition has free reign to pepper our goal at will. We need a proper defender back there. That said, Shaw's not been horrible but AWB is dire and needs taken off.

If we keep playing timid in midfield and on the backfoot in the second half, we're going to get beaten.
Back against the wall defending is his kind of thing to be fair. Given we've been pushed so deep, he's not being exposed in acres of space against quick players.

Ten Hag said we need intensity pre game and then selects martial
That’s certainly one thing Martial lacks. Although he does have other qualities that Hojlund lacks but this isn’t the game for it, or hasn’t been yet anyway.

All out counter, that is it, hope for Bruno to find a pass to the runners. Ten Hag not even attempting to put a cohesive style in place, and it is not just on the players available.
I can't understand it surely the coaches and players know we're getting over run in midfield all the time

2nd best all over the pitch but other than the free kick there wasn't many big chances for Newcastle.

I'll gladly take a 0-0 result right now if offered.

Has AWB been asked to man mark Antony Flipping Gordon?? He is leaving so much space at our RB, not helped by Rashford strolling around. Get Antony and Rasmus on for Rashford and Martial ASAP.

    2nd half like this:

    ...AWB.Maguire,Varane.Shaw...
    ............Mct......Mainoo........
    .................Bruno................
    Dalot...........................Garnacho
    ................Rashford..................
    How we look in attacking phase it would be better;
    Onana
    AWB, Lindelof, Maguire, Varane, Shaw
    Dalot, Mainoo, Amrabat, McT ,Reguilon
    Bruno

    Antony on for Rashford
    Hojlund on for Martial

Not sure if I'd take off McTominay as Amrabat would be coming on and he hasn't impressed so far for us.

Really good result so far given that Newcastle dominated for most of that half and could've scored 1-2 goals. Difficult to imagine us not losing if it continues in this fashion, though.

Hojlund and Antony should be on instead or Martial and Rashford. Not that Martial have been that bad but we need some steel up there.

More than being lazy, our players are bad people. When you work in a team no matter the walk of life, you do your job so that you don’t leave your teammates hanging.
These players routinely allow runners leaving their teammates in trouble. They don’t do the minimum and shirk responsibility. They are fundamentally bad characters and I hate them. This is a deep rooted cultural issue at this club that’s been allowed to fester.

It's all so predictable, feel for Mainoo he's been dropped into a shitshow.... don't think mctominay made a tackle that half or a half decent pass.

    It's fine. Keep it cool.

Just put Rasmus up top and swap Rashy to the left.

Get Lindelof in for Dalot, and let Shaw boss it on the left with Marcus.

    It's the simple things.

ETH is going to get sacked for his stubbornness/favourtism. I don't understand the rationale of starting Rashford at all. He has been anonymous and can't even get pass any player flr the whole match. Off the ball he also did not contribute to any tracking. At least antony will put in a defensive shift even if his attacking play is lacking.
We have no control over our midfield. Their players just strolled through the middle to the final third. Bruno and Mctom guilty of misplacing passes. We can't even string a few decent passes to reach their penalty box. You can't really blame Martial when he doesn't get much service.

It always boggles my mind to see a fan support his team by calling them disgusting.
nope, im calling rashfords performance disgusting. Thats what it is. When TNT and english guys like jenas are calling him criminal you know its bad. Im genuinely disgusted by what he's done this evening. the only rested player in the team too.

It's tactical, people need to open their eyes to this.

When they actually get the ball, Bruno, Shaw and Mainoo have been good. Maguire has been good defensively.
Defensively, our first thought is too boot it forward aimlessly to Martial, who isn't a strong target man. In addition, due to Mctominay's lack of presence, we aren't winning second balls. It's so bad that Bruno has actually swapped positions with him. In addition to this, my take is that shape is playing a big factor. We may be a bit too wide. I can't understand how Newcastle are first to a lot of these second balls. Despite having Mainoo and Shaw present, we still aren't and haven't attempted to play out of the back. Finally, despite losing the midfield battle, we are still poor out wide. AWB and Dalot have been coming inside aimlessly ( as the middle is still being lost) and leaving the outside exposed. In addition, the man marking has caused a lot of those spaces to open up defensively. I don't know if the speed of the game is too much for ETH to comprehend, but it's quite clear that tactically, the instructions aren't working and I honestly can't blame a single player for the being the case. I see Newcastle players having far more space available to them, whilst ours need to make the perfect pass to get out of tight situations.
You can’t blame a single player? Did you watch the half time analysis on Rashford pathetic display? Who does he think he is, messi?

Not that I want to give that tw*t Jenus Aby credit, but him calling out Rashford for that embarrassing, lame 45 min is absolutely right.

Don't want to single him out, but if he doesn't want to.play on the right, he can warm the bench instead.

If Rashford comes out the tunnel for the second half half ETH is done as a manager here in my opinion. Hes not just bad, hes not even fecking trying and that cant stand
I bet you he does, and I bet you EtH isn’t done as the manager as a result.

It looks uncanningly similar in every game we play. It must be as instructed by the manager. Just baffling that he can`t find a way to correct the mistakes we`re doing!

I just don't understand why he is so wedded to this McTominay/Bruno attacking midfield. It's left us so wide open.
