Current team, 2.5m ITB:

GK: Dubravka, Turner
DF: Gabriel, Tsimikas, Guehi, Udogie, Coufal
MF: Saka, Salah, Bowen, Son, Palmer
CF: Watkins, Darwin, Alvarez

Is it too early to make transfers, considering there are continental fixtures for some teams too ?

I’m close to taking a -4 hit to go triple on Newcastle at home against Fulham, but I am also considering having three Chelsea assets this GW for the Sheffield(H) fixture.

Most possibly it will be Son and Guehi out for Gordon and Trippier and then for GW18 I will be looking to add some Chelsea players as they have favourable fixtures even after GW17.

Also, if I transfer one of my defenders and Salah out for Colwill and Sterling in GW18, with those two transfers from GW17, I will have enough funds and flexibility to bring Haaland back later in the season.

But is it all worth it to take -4 hit two gameweeks in a row anyway ? Or should I decide to target one of those fixtures in GW 17, for example Fulham(H) and then bring one by one assets from Chelsea, avoiding another hit ?

I know Chelsea is not the surest bet in the world at the moment, but at some point of the season they have to start performing better and it would represent a great differential value, especially in my mini leagues.

Any thoughts or advice will be helpful. Cheers and good luck.
Any advice ? @CassiusClaymore @Moby @Sandikan :(

Team looks fine. I wouldn't do anything yet anyway. Need to know if Son is ok. If he is they've got some plum fixtures coming up so removing him might back fire on you. Tsimikas should be on the chopping block now. Can't be relied upon for consistent starts.

Yeah, it really depends if Son is fit or not. If he is, I agree with you, even though Spurs are not so convincing since van de Ven and Maddison injuries holding on to Son and Watkins can be crucial for GW18 as they will probably be two most popular captaincy choices.

I’m looking to offload Liverpool assets, as you said Tsimikas can’t be trusted, Darwin is Darwin and Salah is getting returns consistently even though I’m not so convinced with him when I watch them. But we all know, unfortunately, what can happen in their next fixture.

One more question, presuming Son remains fit, would you stick with him and/or Salah during the Asian cup/AFCON or are they simply too expensive to sit on the bench and not contribute at all ?

Thanks, appreciate your help.

Too expensive to sit on the bench for me.

Also be aware Trippier is one yellow away from a suspension.

Thanks, I didn’t know that about Trippier, surely he is, along with Gordon and Isak, a popular choice from Newcastle but I might have to go for Lascelles if Trippier is in danger of suspension.

EDIT: Just noticed that Sterling is also one card away from suspension. That could harm some of my planning but also can make decisions easier.

Shocker of a week. Started Maguire over Trippier. Took a hit to bring in Haaland and Garnacho (took out Alvarez). Vice Captained TAA (I have Salah).

Phew. I was worried about Mengi getting a CS while being second on my bench.

Also Fulham have scored 14 goals in last 4 games and have Burnley at home in BGW 18.

Sterling got benched? FFS, just had a price rise too. Branthwaite booking = suspended next week now.

Doucoure looking interesting. Mentioned him ages ago as having plenty of xGI but his finishing was erratic. He's actually scoring now.

Jimenez could be a useful 1st bench player long term and yeah starter in that week as well. Certainly over the useless Archer.

Dubravka, Livra, Porro and Son incoming. I'm begging for that 0-0.... but fear it's gonna be wild.

Need to ship out Mbuemo and already have Salah, Saka, Garnacho and Gordon. Thinking about getting Iwobi, purely on form and decent fixtures. Can’t get Bowen and chelsea look like a mix bag. Any other decent options in 7.1? Have Cunha and Semedo, so don’t want to go triple up on wolves getting Hwang

Kulusexy or Johnson? Spurs have some decent fixtures.

Doucore for Everton playing quite advanced.

Son playing on the left again. Guess we need to keep him till GW18 but another issue in the team, if Haaland is out as well.

Just a week ago we were burning transfers.

I’m having a disastrous week. No goals, no assists and no clean sheets in my entire team! I’ve got quite a few in form players as well and they’ve all had a mare in the same week!

Obviously Sanchez comes off injured.
Although Dubravka wouldn't have been much better.

Just noticed that every starter for Fulham was at least 5pts today, all but 1 was 6... plus another off the bench. Impressive.

Big scoring game incoming for Spuds and Magpies.

Gordon and Tripps hauls nailed on against this leaky Spurs side - just hope Son can properly haul as well.
Trippier doesn't get assists for the oppo team, else he'll be killing the last two GWs  .
