Because of one injury that required surgery. These guys have reoccurring problems.Martinez will probably have spent longer in the sidelines than these two by the end of the season.

Do they though? I believe this was Casemiro's first injury leading to missed games for United in 2 seasons. And Martinez had 2 long absences.Because of one injury that required surgery. These guys have reoccurring problems.

Martinez was on the same injury and we made an error of not performing surgery on him, before then deciding this year that he actually should have surgery.Do they though? I believe this was Casemiro's first injury leading to missed games for United in 2 seasons. And Martinez had 2 long absences.
Transfermarkt confirms this:
I don't feel this is a fair reflection on Casemiro's availability at all. He's clearly been more available than Martinez for us.
You might not be the one comparing the two, but you're the one posting fabrications about Casemiro. First about him having recurring problems, now about the type of injury.Martinez was on the same injury and we made an error of not performing surgery on him, before then deciding this year that he actually should have surgery.
Im not the one comparing the two. I'm just saying a 31 year old missing 6 weeks from a hamstring issue isn't going to bode well. And Varane is generally made of glass.
There is no reason to be concerned about Casemiro's fitness. I'm far more concerned about Martinez making a full recovery and how he will look after missing best part of 9-10 months through injury.Casemiro has started training on the pitch, as the Brazilian steps up his recovery for Manchester United.
The 31-year-old has not featured for the Reds since October, having sustained an ankle injury while on international duty.
On Sunday, the midfielder was spotted training alone on the grass at Carrington, while his team-mates took part in a recovery session.
It will be welcome news for Erik ten Hag, who has seen Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw return to fitness in recent weeks.

Because he's not been out for 6 weeks. It's exactly 9 weeks today. Friday 13th October to Friday 15th December.absolutely bonkers he's been out for 6 weeks and missed 13 games
Apart from he played against Newcastle on the 1st Nov?Because he's not been out for 6 weeks. It's exactly 9 weeks today. Friday 13th October to Friday 15th December.
Good point. No fecking clue.Apart from he played against Newcastle on the 1st Nov?
Yeah pretty sure he came back, played a half then was gone again.Good point. No fecking clue.
The club itself says he's been injured since October with Brazil. Maybe the injury was hadn't healed and was aggravated.
Genuinely got mixed up with another injury. But his injury appears very unknown, and he's 31.You might not be the one comparing the two, but you're the one posting fabrications about Casemiro. First about him having recurring problems, now about the type of injury.
The club has disclosed that the reason for his absence was an ankle injury sustained while on duty in Brazil. No multiple injuries, no harmstring problems.

Good point, and counting the games since then, it's only 9. Very odd way of counting it on all parts.Good point. No fecking clue.

When it's said "his legs are gone" you're thinking about distance covered. It's not what's meant really. Eriksen still covers lots of distance but we wouldn't say his legs are in their prime would we?Yes I am well aware of that. But that movement, in whatever direction requires a high level of cardio vascular fitness and strong muscles to provide the force to move.
And in point of fact, elite athletes are significantly fitter than professional footballers.
How far do they run during a 90+ minute match. Typically 10km. And that with a 15 minutes rest half way.
Even a very average 50 year old runner can do that in half the time.
And by the way on an undulating surface. Not a nice smooth flat football pitch.
Way back when I was at school, playing a game of football was really easy compared to a cross country run.
Ok. I can understand that thank you. Although I would still hardly describe Casemiro as you have said. Just my view. When it's said "his legs are gone" you're thinking about distance covered. It's how they move, how quick they turn, how long it takes to get up to full speed. Agility is a big part of it.
I don't think he's at that stage either but I do think it might not be that far off. We should at least be looking now for his eventual replacement.Ok. I can understand that thank you. Although I would still hardly describe Casemiro as you have said. Just my view.
Problem is, that isn't likely to happen. Our problems in midfield aren't just personnel available. It's the actual setup.I d like to see him with Mainoo for a while.
Casemiro's still out, as is Eriksen and Mount. Oh, and Bruno is suspended. I can't help but think he will be forced to play Amrabat and Mainoo behind McTominay this time.Problem is, that isn't likely to happen. Our problems in midfield aren't just personnel available. It's the actual setup.
EtH considers Casemiro, Amrabat and Mainoo our 6s. That's why, when fit and available, Casemiro and Amrabat didn't play together, and why Amrabat and Mainoo don't now. It's always one of them with Bruno and then one of Eriksen, Mount or McTominay.
For it to happen, we'd need ten Hag to admit his setup is wrong and change, but he's a very stubborn person. We heard that before he joined from Ajax fans in that, once he has his mind set on a specific system, he won't change it. And, even with Casemiro and Mount unavailable for the majority of the season, he's shown that here. We've still set our midfield up the same way he intended to do with Casemiro, Mount and Bruno regardless of personnel available. One 6 next to a really attacking 8 and a 10.
You'd hope so. The interesting thing will be if we do well with two deep midfielders in Amrabat and Mainoo. Will we stick to that or immediately revert back to our usual setup this season once Bruno is back.Casemiro's still out, as is Eriksen and Mount. Oh, and Bruno is suspended. I can't help but think he will be forced to play Amrabat and Mainoo behind McTominay this time.
They've had little impact on our season, I'd prefer we brought in some fresh legs with potential if possible. I agree if we just sell them and don't replace them, but I don't see that happening.Selling Casemiro this Jan will be such a mistake. Same with Varane. We need there experience.
We're achieving feck all this season. EL is the most likely outcome. I'd consider it a success if we get rid of Casemiro, Varane, Sancho, Martial and (hopefully) Rashford. Have a vision for how the team will play, get rid of players on ridiculous contracts and go from there. Basically what Barca did but more elegantly - I kinda wish we had the fat bastard Laporta in-charge right now.Selling Casemiro this Jan will be such a mistake. Same with Varane. We need there experience.
Agreed, mid-season would be tempting fate. Keep them around until the summer.Selling Casemiro this Jan will be such a mistake. Same with Varane. We need there experience.
Yes let’s commit harikiri on our squad. Sack ETH. Burn the stadium down. Why not?!!We're achieving feck all this season. EL is the most likely outcome. They were colossal last year. We have plenty of players to move out before these two. They are the only players in our squad with a winning pedigree. They've had little impact on our season, I'd prefer we brought in some fresh legs with potential if possible. I agree if we just sell them and don't replace them, but I don't see that happening.
Then the club would have to build a new one. So not a bad idea, actually.Yes let’s commit harikiri on our squad. Sack ETH. Burn the stadium down. Why not?!!
Indeed. We need a new squad, new manager and new stadium. Let’s do it all right now and set ourselves back 2 years at least. Then the club would have to build a new one. So not a bad idea, actually.
Whatever we do, we'll be in the EL next season. CL is an impossibility given how the coefficients are going. We're too good to not finish in the EL spots. Our wage budget is the highest in the league. Let's give the next guy a clean sheet atleast.Yes let’s commit harikiri on our squad. Sack ETH. Burn the stadium down. Why not?!!
Totally agree with you, selling Casamiro would be a stupid decision. He's a world class player that is a ideal mentor to Mainoo and Gore. Casemiro is not the reason we have had such a poor season. Casamiro is not the player that dropped clangers in goal or hid in midfield, or wouldn't track back from the forward line.Selling Casemiro this Jan will be such a mistake. Same with Varane. We need there experience.
Show them Laporta! We're achieving feck all this season. EL is the most likely outcome. I'd consider it a success if we get rid of Casemiro, Varane, Sancho, Martial and (hopefully) Rashford. Let's not get into revisionism. He spent half of last season away to red cards galore. This season he is also MIA due to injury. He hasn't been a good signing for us.
The first half of the season he was great. But from February onwards he was just OK even if he did score a few important goals.Let's not get into revisionism.
He was so superb last year that him being out for a game or 2 caused panic.
This season has been a non starter for everyone.
Season is cooked.Selling Casemiro this Jan will be such a mistake. Same with Varane. We need there experience.
Don’t be daft, it’s still half to play. We could get a very respectable league finish and an FA cup.Season is cooked.
I get the argument but we need to clear house, if offers come in January it’d be malpractice not to take them.
They will not be part of any mct decent United side, no point being sentimental over when they go.
Experience for a midtable battle? The season is done, we should be building for the future.Selling Casemiro this Jan will be such a mistake. Same with Varane. We need there experience.
6th is mid table now? We are 3pts off the top 4Experience for a midtable battle? The season is done, we should be building for the future.
No he got surgery the first time round, he just had a recurrance of the same injury.Martinez was on the same injury and we made an error of not performing surgery on him, before then deciding this year that he actually should have surgery.

3 points? It's 7 points. 8 points given the GD.6th is mid table now? We are 3pts off the top 4
We're 7th and 7 points off top 4. And 7th flatters us.6th is mid table now? We are 3pts off the top 4
