Everything wrong with United's approach to football over the last 4 years can be seen today in how both Amad and Bruno play.

Looks like a proper footballer. Him, Mainoo and Mejbri are the only players who look comfortable in receiving the ball all over the pitch.

He definitely has the potential to be better than Antony but he doesn't have Garnachos pace
Amad has vision. Garnacho mostly gets his head down and dribbles inside and nowhere near enough going on the outside and crossing with the left. Same issue as Rashford, or Antony from the other side

Clearly technically and mentally miles above most of the other players up front.

He'll soon have that taken out of him.

What do you mean?
Amad tried a few zippy short passes, give and go in the middle third. Fernandes’ innate instinct in that area of the field is to do something wild. Guess that’s what he’s referring to

This was nothing to write home about but I'm really glad that he's back. Can we hope for him to start soon?

Himself or Garnacho on the right, Rashford on the left and hopefully Hojlund up front. Antony just isn't doing it atm. From what I've seen Diallo values keeping the ball and doesn't muck up attacks often. Garnacho loses the ball a lot. Antony not as much but he doesn't do anything with it.

He is so silky when carrying the ball. The only complaint from me is that he should have been a little bit more selfish. I would like him shoot more but it’s understandable for his preference to create for teammates because it’s his first game.

Didn’t even play that well but still looked streets ahead of Antony. Could and should’ve done better on a few of his final ball/shots but also got into positions Antony hasn’t been able to since his first 3 months at the club.

A good returning cameo in what was a dismal afternoon. He played with his head up, showed good composure and looked dangerous whether he was linking play up or running with the ball.

I see amad as Bruno's eventual replacement

Don't expect prime Gareth Bale when this was his first game in about 4 months. You can see that he's levels above Antony though. Can move well enough in tight spaces, seems to have pace to burn and can actually beat a man. If Antony starts ahead of him something is seriously wrong somewhere.

Ineffective, but still better than Antony.

First game back after a LONG period out with an injury & you guys expect a world class, impressive performance in his very first game back.

Sums up our fanbase really.

Didn't have to do much to put himself at the head of the queue for that right wing spot, unless we revert to Garnacho right and Rashford left once Rasmus is back I don't see why he wouldn't get a chance.

But he missed the chance and we lost. Yeah he was better than Antony but the standard was already so low, he has to be burying those chances or we will have more results like today and that goes for all of the attackers.
He also created a chance for Eriksen at the end which he spooned, swings and roundabouts. It was a great appearance, it's just a shame our teammates didn't pass to him more.

Cant comment on his performance when he had 0 minutes of football in the last 6 months...

Funny... That's what Mowbray told him. But I think you are right.

Christ. People gave Antony 18 months of "patience" with historically poor levels of production but Amad is getting criticized for hitting a shot straight at the keeper after beating his man with his only chance of the game.

His first cameo in a dysfunctional team for over five months, relax it will come.

It's also due to how shite the rest of our team is. If he played for City I think he'd rack up the assists.

Has the skillet to mirror Saka or Martinelli, can dribble with close control and has acceleration over 10 yards to go past defenders, offers way more than Antony.

He's got something about him, but he looks so lacklustre sometimes. That situation with Gibbs White barely being able to run and Amad "chasing" him down was almost comical to watch.

United fans will cream themselves over a hilariously inefficient winger if he runs at his defender 10 times a game and loses it 9 but does it with "pace", but then will turn around and call Amad ineffective after he created 3 chances in under a half of football because he didn't just mindlessly sprint down the outside.

Astonishing how he shows more in a 45 minute cameo than Antony has all season. If that’s not enough to dislodge Antony from the starting line-up in our next game, Ten Hag deserves the sack for that alone.

He thrives on link up play. So, he's either going to knit things together or be left isolated out wide and expected to dribble his man, which isn't his game.

I'm hoping it's the former where our attacking players now come closer together resulting in us passing through opposition teams. I'm expecting the latter where Amad will face the same struggles as Rashford, Garnacho and Antony.
