Yeap, exactly my point

I am not sure if numbers agree, but it feels like Bruno is also not assisting [anybody, including Hojlund but especially him] anywhere nearly as much as he used to, last season. Plus Casemiro and Eriksen haven't played much this season, where they have provided quite a few wonderful assists last year
Ye it’s a strange one with Bruno. He normally connects quite well with the ST. I remember his first season I think it was he linked up and assisted Martial quite a few times, I remember them both talking about how they worked on it in training. He connected well with Ronaldo also for the time he was here.

Please compare the teams they play / plaid for....
Not you specifically, but I feel that if you need to piss on Macheda, a player whos legacy is he saved a fecking PL for us, in order to make this guy look good the jokes on you.

To the one saying I dont like him that's a weird conclusion, unless he meant rate. In which case you are right. I do dislike some players, but its generally tied to off-field antics, and I've got nothing on Rasmus.

I'm glad he scored, but from what he's shown so far I wouldnt hold my breath for some type of ketchup effect. It would be a pleasant, albeit very unexpected, surprise however.

Really loved his celebration for that winner. No stupid rehearsed dancing or look-how-cool-I-am gesture, just pure emotion.

Hope he goes on to do well.

Pure joy and passion.

His brain would've been flooding with dopamine and serotonin.

To get a similar high, one would have to take something illegal.

For comparison…

Rashford 23/24 - 2 goals (so far)
Rashford 22/23 - 30 goals
Rashford 21/22 - 5 goals

Martial 23/24 - 2 goals (so far)
Martial 22/23 - 9 goals
Martial 21/22 - 2 goals

Hojlund 23/24 - 6 goals (so far)

Hojlund won’t get close to 30 goals, but he should finish the season with the second highest numbers, which would be anything above the 9 goals Martial scored last season.

15 goals in his first season would be a very good return. Setting a good foundation to build on.

Pretty sure Martial went on loan in 2022. Seeing Rashford return in 2022 that was disgusting. And hes on 2 in 4 months. The most consistent of flip flopping attackers we have had in years.

Remarkably Martial’s 2 goals in 2021/22 includes his goals on loan.

Love his energy and aggression up front. Fingers crossed he can take confidence from this goals and get them consistently now. Like a lot of the squad has lacked a stable base to show his best with injuries and a stuttering team but he changes how we play.

He will get better too and his chemistry with players up front will develop.

I will give him a chance cos obviously he is very young and inexperienced but where are the Benzema, Mbappe, Rooney, Aguero, Fernando Torres, like young talents? Maybe I am out of the loop regarding this, since I stopped playing Football Manager but I feel we had genuine Wonderkids back in the day but now £70 million gets you Rasmund Hojlund.

It was also carbon copy to the relief and ecstasy when Forlan got his first goal after his long drought.

They all would struggle in this team, our rubbish midfield and lack of genuine chances would make any of those guys look shite

nah. They can drop deep, beat players, shoot from range, play through balls, get into goal scoring positions etc. Rashford scored 25 goals in this team. There are teams beneath us who have strikers getting goals

No, Rashford has 2 goals in this team.
The team played a lot better offensively for the main part.

Rashford is as much a victim of how Hojlund plays as Hojlund is of how Rashford plays. The attack has fallen apart because the attackers are not compatible.

With a striker who is comfortable dropping deep and who knows how to bring other attackers into play, Rashford would be better.

Just as Hojlund might be better with a winger who's better at crossing or looks to play the striker in early.

Shame he was ill, had he played and Rashford RW and Garnacho LW we may well have won as Forest were bang average and made to look good by Our soft centre.

Hmmmm. Just too raw right now.

Safe to assume that we won't be scoring many goals for what's left of the season with him leading the line.

Good pressing, sharp hold up play, good movement... a shame about the finishing, the guy could use some luck.

He's been good in the champions league...

But in the league and now we can add the FA cup, he's been very poor

Again, can't fault the workrate at all but we can't exactly say he didn't get the service this time. A bit worrying, especially with Rashford still not back to his best either.

We need to get in another striker in January it's as simple as that. I like Hojilund but he's not ready.

Had a few better touches as the game progressed after some very untidy ones early. His movement is weird, quite good when running into space behind but pretty nothing when that space isn't there.

To be fair even though he’s glaringly toothless he is only 19 and you can definitely see the potential for a turnaround I think. Whereas with Anthony I see absolutely nothing.

Probably should have scored 1 or 2.

Not happening in front of goal for him.

Overall he wasn't great, but not terribly bad either.

I finally figured out who he reminds of, it's Timo Werner.

United leading CF cannot be that limited on the ball and cant see him ever improving on that. We need elite CF to lead the line if we want to compete at the level to win trophies.

We have the Danish Martial on our hands, paid way over the price for potential again.

Still 20 years old. Even in three years, you expect progress, but a 23 year old with his qualities is very unique. He just needs confidence, consistency and learning. Some strikers don’t blossom until mid 20s, just look at Kane.

The standards of this club, there was a time when even lukaku was deemed not good enough for united and now you have fans excusing this lad game after game when it is is clear his all round play is average and his ability in front of the goal is poor
