Gotta love those lunatic convoys every time. Same people who probably say others don't work or that gas is too expensive while they seemingly have oodles of time to drive halfway or the entire length of the country to hang out with their fellow nitwits.
No need to remind us. We had those cu*ks in Ottawa only 2 years ago and it took an Emergency Measures Law voted by our parliament in order to get rid of them. Locals like this now-famous Balcony Guy (see below) is a LEGEND for calling those truck-driving lunatics out for what they are.

50 Cent blasts Mayor Adams plan to give pre-paid credit cards to migrants: ‘Maybe TRUMP is the answer’

Rapper 50 Cent is no fan of Mayor Adams’ plan to distribute $53 million to city migrants on pre-paid credit cards, blasting the idea in an Instagram post Saturday.

“WTF mayor Adams call my phone, I don’t understand how this works somebody explain,” the rapper wrote after sharing a screengrab of the Post’s coverage. “Can’t explain this I’m stuck maybe TRUMP is the answer.”

Why the World Is Betting Against American Democracy

When I asked the European ambassador to talk to me about America’s deepening partisan divide, I expected a polite brushoff at best. Foreign diplomats are usually loath to discuss domestic U.S. politics.

Instead, the ambassador unloaded for an hour, warning that America’s poisonous politics are hurting its security, its economy, its friends and its standing as a pillar of democracy and global stability.

On the Border, Republicans Set a Trap, Then Fell Into It

Congressional Republicans thought they had set a clever trap for Democrats that would accomplish complementary political and policy goals.

Their idea was to tie approval of military assistance to Ukraine to tough border security demands that Democrats would never accept, allowing Republicans to block the money for Kyiv that many of them oppose while simultaneously enabling them to pound Democrats for refusing to halt a surge of migrants at the border. It was to be a win-win headed into November’s elections.

But Democrats tripped them up by offering substantial — almost unheard-of — concessions on immigration policy without insisting on much in return. Now it is Republicans who are rapidly abandoning a compromise that gave them much of what they wanted, leaving aid to Ukraine in deep jeopardy, border policy in turmoil and Congress again flailing as multiple crises at home and abroad go without attention because of a legislative stalemate.
“Just gobsmacked,” Senator Brian Schatz, Democrat of Hawaii, wrote on social media. “I’ve never seen anything like it. They literally demanded specific policy, got it, and then killed it.”

As they sought to rationalize their anticipated decision to mount a filibuster against legislation they had called for, Republicans said they needed more time to digest the bill and perhaps be allowed to propose some changes. But those seemed mainly like excuses. Additional time is unlikely to be a friend of the bill as the politics surrounding it grow more volatile with the approach of this year’s elections. In past immigration fights, failed procedural votes typically doomed the effort.
Called their bluff and they would rather tee up Impeachment articles, or resolutions declaring 'Trump did not engage in insurrection'. It can't be much of a crisis if they ignore the legislation that they whine about every election. Trump was in office all 3 branches and they didn't get any border legislation passed. But here is a bipartisan bill where they literally get direct concessions they asked for and they pass cause trump told them he needs it to run on.

Very smart politics!

Oh Republicans say they hate immigrates but they continue to refuse to help us build the immigration killing machine. Oh the hypocrisy!

It clearly demonstrates they do not care about actual policy. Same as abortion, or healthcare. They wanted it to run on for decades. Then they finally got Roe overturned and start losing elections because the vast majority of the country is not on their side.

What happened to the decades of healthcare reform, Obamacare is evil?

"Libs want open borders!"
Oh yeah?

The dems trying to own the republicans by having a more anti immigration platform than first term Trump seems like a very dumb idea.
Depends on who they're trying to appeal to. Biden probably has the far left locked up except for those who disagree with the Israel policy. So it's the center they need to funnel votes from Trump and a lot of them are very anti immigration as well despite being more progressive in other areas compared to the far right. I even see it in Europe where so many self proclaimed liberals and progressives -including people I know very well - are very staunch anti immigrant somehow as well. They just may not say it out loud.

Also - some of the most staunch anti immigrant people I know are immigrants themselves either directly or indirectly.

Certainly anti immigration is across the board nowadays. Even me I think that there is a problem but I don't think they implement the humanly decisions necessary to avoid the problem.

True but it seems like a massive risk. It’s another thing that will piss off most under 50’s which Biden needs. And if the Dems genuinely think Trump is a threat to american democracy why would they want to give the presidency unlimited powers to deport refugees without hearings. And this is all with a democratic candidate who is barely functional.

All of this risk for the potential upside of a negative Republican news cycle seem crazy to me.

In stunner, House GOP bid to impeach Mayorkas fails

A House GOP effort to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas failed in an embarrassing fashion Tuesday as three Republicans joined Democrats in voting against what would have been the second-ever impeachment of a Cabinet official.

The 214-216 vote is a stunning loss for a GOP that has faced continual pressure from its right flank to impeach a Biden official, even as the party has waffled over which one to focus on.

The failure came about because of the surprise appearance in the chamber of Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), who showed up unexpected to vote against the bill.

She gave up her name, her dignity, and her job, for nothing.

Is there anything she wouldn't do if Trump told her to? She is like the female version of Ted Cruz.

What a terrible political party!!

Why did they get the majority in 2023? I still can’t understand this. They are not interested in governing at all! They embarrass themselves on every turn.

It's pretty amazing that they couldn't even get the sham impeachment done. And that they're doubling down, and going to vote again, because it's so crucial an issue, and so clearly popular that they desperately need literally 1 vote more to even get it across the line. And then it will crash and burn in the senate.

Meanwhile they of course don't have time to debate or even hear the bi-partisan bill to actually secure the border, which is filled to the brim with concessions the GOP want.

The issue isn't these horrible jokes of human beings having these positions - it's that the media so spectacularly fail to communicate how awful they are to the public in such a way as to ensure we get decent representatives.

But nothing wrong with voting no against fascists, yeah
Oh, baby, love and happiness

Something not right here? The final tally was 214-216, so even if that ONE Dem didn't show up, it'd still be 214-215?
Weird law means one of the republican leaders voted no so he could later bring the motion back on the floor

She dropped her hyphenated Romney-McDaniel surname because Trump asked her to because he was beefing with her uncle Mitt Romney at the time. She literally changed her name to show fealty to Trump, and is being kicked to the curb because he no longer finds her useful.

No matter how much you kiss the ring, you will eventually be discarded by Trump. They must know this by now, but can’t go against him either. They are just choosing to ride the Trump train as long he allows, before he kicks them out.
I’m fascinated to see who he picks to run as his VP, considering he basically tried to have the last one killed.

Hearing the MAGA wing complain that the Dems cheated because Al Green showed up to vote is so freaking indicative of how they view democracy. They purposefully scheduled a vote for when they "knew" he would be in surgery so he could not vote, and then when he rushed to show up to, you know.... represent his constituents, they view it as unfair.

Yeah, that would be a bit like the Dems moaning because Steve Scalise took a break from cancer treatment to fly to DC and vote for something.
