We’ve set the bar so low all season that i didn’t think it was that bad, despite not looking like scoring.

Bad times.

This game and a few others this season really does make me feel ETH will be here next season. The players are still playing for him. He hasn't lost the dressing room. This is key and happened to pretty much all our previous managers post Sir Alex. They're still fighting for him. I think there will be a massive improvement next season with this team challenging for the league. Yes, i just said that. With a fully fit squad, this team is better than the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal. Add a couple of players next season and we will be up there.

Not embarrassed like a lot thought we would be, but just never looked even remotely likely to score.

Horrible goal to concede, but generally held the ball reasonably nicely and kept them at bay.

Last 5 mins you'd need to be an absolute delusion king to think we'd have a goal in us with those youngsters, Antony etc as the attack.
Antony was left back at that point

Next time please start with this so I know to skip the rest of your post.

He was coming back from an injury that’s why he didn’t start. ETH didn’t have many options.
No many but he did have some, McT should probably have played CB today, Amad could have played as the 10

I don't understand why ETH states he has Jo choice other than playing Casemiro as CB, obviously he brought Willy on in the second half, if that's not an obvious lie, then I don't know what is.

What proof have you got for this ?
Rooney & Keane mentioned in the aftermatch that a few of injuries were ones that they as players would have played with, Bruno was down as having a "Wrist injury", the inference was that a few were swinging the lead and only thinking an FA Cup final, ruling themselves out of games.
Add to that Martinez was reported as declaring himself fit, but didn't even make the bench, that sparks of ETH saving players for the cup final.
I don't think he has lost the whole dressing room, but I think there are a few willing/trying to throw him under the bus.

If Ten hag gets sacked, he's seriously dug his own grave by never playing a 4-2-3-1. I'd argue that almost all our midfielders are better suited to that. Eriksen, casimero, mainoo and amrabat. We had so much more control today and it was primarily due to this.
I agree. The fact he gives all of his midfielders free reign to go forward is mind boggling. If we just sat with 2 DM all season we could have won a lot of 1-0 matches. If we played good wingers we might have scored more than 1 many times.

He's had that for a while, that is not the reason he's missed the last 2 games, and unless Rooney & Keane have actually been in then treatment and training arenas they're talking out of their arses TBH about 'swinging the lead'

Was a bit above and behind me, I guess he didn’t keep quiet and outed himself as an Arse in the Stretford end. Got hauled out around halftime. When I got to the concourse the stewards were dragging him down the stairs while we all cheered on.
What a clown . In certain country’s though your allowed home and away fans sit together aren’t you? Think Australia and USA are 2

I find that hard to believe, most of the United players wouldn't even know who Mcateer is!
[/QUOTE]

I was thinking that exact same thing. He is another bitter Scouser that won nothing because of the class of 92 and just making up controversy No chance Southgate ends up here. I think Potter is most likely. Tuchel or Motta is who we need.

I think we did reasonably well to be honest. At the end of the day, the game was decided by an indivdual error, we contained Arsenal just fine while definitely being up there with the Arsenal players in the individual battles. It obviously isn't enough but I actually liked the way we played today. It was a bit more methodical, less chaotic. Obviously, attacking wise there isn't much to talk about but that applies to chaotic games as well - at least oftne times.

Arsenal were unimpressive, their central midfield let the team down again.

The most anticlimatic I've seen this fixture, especially with the stakes that Arsenal had prior to this match.

Both sides looked quite poor going forward, with Casemiro's horrendous error separating the two sides.

Well unless he loses the whole dressing room I can see INEOS giving him another season

They played in second gear that's why

Arsenal, as they do, were up for the taking. United just far too light to do so. For a team with such amount of points this season, they were particularly scared/poor.

After going 1-0 up, Arsenal were content with containing us instead of trying to score 3 or 4. They know we're more 'dangerous' on the counter because we can't play keep ball for shit, hence they didn't need to risk going for it and conceding. We were shit because we barely offered a threat in the final third, and they were shit because they didn't play their proper attacking game. Really poor game to watch overall.

Yes, that dire Palace peformance was the lowest low of a season of lows, and even our lot had to improve on it, and give them credit, they did. But will they put in a similar performance next time, or even better, or drop back to the level of the Palace match? We cant seem to string together 3 or 4 decent matches and every decent performance seems to be followed by a crap performance. To be honest I dont think City will let us dominate posession as Arsenal did and if they score one goal they'll want to score more, and no doubt will.

Yeah, maybe. It takes two to dance, I agree, good chances that Arsenal could have upped their level but I still think, we made it rather uncomfortable for them. Based on the last few matches I didn't expect what I've seen.
