Again not all great and obviously he could do things better especially in attack but every.single.game he’s had one or more of his players just do the absolute stupidest shit or conceding directly from a corner. I’m so sick of it. Nobody would succeed with them doing this so often. Combine that with the pressure of playing for Utd and it’s a meltdown every time.

We can’t languish in 12-14th like Chelsea did that season and get away with it. So it’s massive news every time.
 
Toothless in attack. As others have said play attacking players in the WB position and see if we can more pressure going forward. Otherwise, this is fecking tedious football.

He is still the right man and even gave an insight to the road ahead.

If you have watched the games and paid attention non of these results or performances should come as a surprise. That’s not to say it isn’t painful to endure because it is massively.

It’s going to take a long time and some baby steps to get rid of the low IQ football , bad decision making and lack of players who back them selves.

Confidence is low but this creates an opportunity for players to step up , weather that’s youth players or the likes of maguire. We need players invested because at the moment it looks like lack of quality, intelligence and application.

I think we could all name 3 players that start the majority of games that don’t have what it takes here and that’s just a start.
 
The 330m spent on Antony, Casemiro, Hojlund, Mount and Onana has really killed us. None of them are good enough and it’s now ruined us in fees and wages for PSR. That on top of years and years of bad recruitment has left us with what is a very ordinary group of players.

Amorim is doing some good and bad things and big calls like dumping Rashford are correct but short term a disadvantage. This isn’t getting better anytime quickly with or without Amorim, it’s a long term rebuild, rock bottom may well be this season.

A manager who sticks relentlessly to one system despite all evidence that it isn't working seems a bit worrying.

However, we go again v Newcastle. We're better at home...bar the Newcastle, Bournemough, Forest ..... games

No, no. Don't care what happens, manager should stick to the football he wants. Players are being found out and I'm all here for it.
Let it burn, this group of footballers are going nowhere and they don't deserve to "play their strenghts".

I absolutely hate this squad and have for a while... so I'm not surprised in the slightest and I'm still very pro giving Amorim at least two windows before I'll make any judgements.

You can almost bet on the games we're going to lose. Any team with a hint of physicality we're going to struggle majorly against. We have one of the least physical squads ever assembled.

Can start by fecking off all of Rashford, Bruno and Garnacho. Wouldn't mind selling Mainoo either if we got a reasonable fee. Basically our four biggest names and they all have huge physical limitations.

Edit - and Lisandro too 100%.

No, we don't. The stats back that up. We are getting in the box more, and also limiting the other team more, but the mistakes have increased.

ETH hated it too… he came in… we got battered twice by Brentford and Brighton… and he was forced to play a system he didn’t want play. It worked. We had a great season.

He then changed it. We were crap for 18 months.

Ruud came in briefly and went back to the tactics that worked in 22/23. We looked good.

Ruben has come in and (understandably) changed it to a system we knew he was going to implement. We have been crap.

Have I watched a different team to everyone else in the last 3 years?!
 
Difficult to remain positive about his appointment at this point. We’ve gone backwards and suspect it’s going to get worse over the next 3 games.

Agreed the players are the biggest problem. We need to back Amorim and fast. We absolutely have to bring in at least 3-4 players in January to stand any chance of salvaging anything from the season.

I don't want to absolve Amorim of any blame but honestly the majority of these players are trash, lacking physically, technically and mentally.

Even Sir Alex would struggle with this lot.

I don't believe relegation is out of the question. Precisely because we have a squad that didn't sign up to fight relegation and will get more demoralised the further down the table we get dragged.

As I have said, I like Amorim, I am just looking at things without emotion and, currently, I don't see where the next win is coming from. I also don't see any reason to believe we'll suddenly go on a run of wind.

I don't think this coach suits this squad, I don't see the squad changing much any time soon, feels a bit of a toxic mix.
 
Needs to do better with the squad he has. All this talk about players being bad is good, but a manager should be able to get the best out of even bad teams. He hasn’t done that so far, and he won’t be getting a team of ‘his own players’, that only happens in the minds of simple fans.
 
I said the same when ten hag was in charge. You can’t legislate for your players doing the most brain dead shit, having lots of injuries, and a load of shit players.

The difference is though, ten hag bought them whereas Amorim didn’t. So he needs time. Until then it’s gonna suck. Europa league or bust, go again next year.
 
People need to accept the limitations of our squad. We've been screaming that we want to control games and play something else other than counter attack. Well this is what it looks like with our sub par squad of zero PL level athletes.
 
I understand why he picked the formation he likes but he simply doesn't have the players for it right now, could argue that lack of pragmatism to use the players he has is a slight concern.
 
All those screaming for a clear out are just plain hilarious. We have no money! We have no strength in depth as it is! What will a clear out in January achieve? Rashford won't play again. That's already one attacker down. The season is gone. It's damage limitation now and a few good moments here and there. The team is unbalanced, prone to injuries, lacks fitness and strength not to mention obvious quality. Genuinely think we are doomed for a long time. I don't know where the spark will come from.

Every new manager we've had there's been optimism. But I'm never excited until 6 months has passed. It's been the same problems with Amorim. Yes it's the players, but what's baffling of all is lesser players at other clubs playing better than ours. It has to be a cultural and mental thing.

It doesn’t help when the “captain” gets sent off a few minutes into the second half and his goalkeeper signed by the last idiot in charge would rather wrestle with an attacker than actually catch the football.

I like Amorim and I think we look much better under him, but he’s got no chance with this group of players.
 
Starting to feel like ragnick ditching his pressing style after a game and a half realising these cnuts will only do what they want to.
 
I worry that he will be pressured into changing systems for stability. We brought him in to implement a system, let him do it ffs. EtH failed because he spent a season being pragmatic instead of just going for it full force. I hope we don't see the same with Amorim.
 
Our attacking choices really are so poor. There's no cohesion at all and lack of quality.
We need this changed in January. If we aren't getting this then bringing Amorim in now makes no sense.

I'm happy to try stick to a type of tactic and formation but only if theres a plan to make it work.
 
It's really funny to see people clamouring for a different system, as if they actually want more of the attackers we have at the club to start games... Fair enough if we had competent attackers. But what gives anyone faith that more of Hojlund, Zirkzee, Antony or Garnacho would be a good thing for us right now?

Regardless of system, the same issues will happen. At least this way we are tightening up the defence for the most part and controlling games better when we have 11 on the pitch, apart from of course corner kicks which are laughably shit for us. Theoretically though if you concede fewer chances, you'll concede fewer goals. And that'll no doubt eventually turn around. But without even a premier league level CF, we aren't doing shit. Hojlund is a garbage player for this level, Zirkzee isn't cut out for this league, and Rashford is surely off. We are in desperate need of an actual #9.
 
This season is a write off now. Just focus on Europa League. Somehow just somehow we need to try and win it. Just hope we get lucky with our fixtures next couple of rounds where we don’t need to be at our best to win.

I think your mistake is actually watching the football on the pitch and looking at the results, when you should be analysing spreadsheets or something to work out how well we're playing

If they don't do something significant for him in January then you can see it getting very ugly.

As you say it would show a serious misjudgement if they thought Amorim could make his style work with this bunch of players.
 
I’m all for giving managers time. Something we should have done with some of the previous managers. But are club and fans for it?

Evidence shows no. Club don’t care and fans are just fans.

That’s rubbish though, nobody can get this bunch of morons to play football. Put SAF in charge of this lot and we’d be in the same situation.
 
What we are seeing now is the result of our slow decline over ten years, when it started we still had the individual quality to beat the bottom half teams and get 3 points even though as a team we were poor. People dont want to admit it but our squad isn't better than the bottom half teams anymore, they might be bigger names but there performances are really bad for a team that has aspirations of being a top 4 team. Every game now in the league is going to be tough, there are no easy points for us anymore. I don't think we will be close to relegation this season but if we don't sort ourselves out next season or the season after, it will become a possibility. To put it into context we have gone two seasons now without a proper left back and a renown goalscorer, its ridiculous.

No obvs not…. But for me Ole’s system is the one the suits this squad best… Ole’s biggest failing was the awful players he signed. Ole’s system with our current squad, we are probs challenging for Europe in my eyes.
