'Dalot is the Denis Irwin of this generation"
Bottom line: he ain't good enough for where we need to get to.
Forget the mistakes but does anyone think that the reason we are poor from set pieces is because of Onana?
He doesnt really control his box. He has no idea when to come off his line, he cant grab the ball, he doesnt jump and he usually found ball watching both on shots and crosses.
I think the whole "he isnt a big enough of a Problem to be replaced yet" mindset needs to change.
We let in so many set piece goals that we need a more dominant goalkeeper; if you add on mistakes on top of that then Onana becomes one of the first names we need to replace.
It's a position we should target this summer.

Maybe after a season in the premier league, you could compare his experiences. Since those issues where he cleaned out players he’s been poor, much like Casemiro and his red cards.Goalkeeping 101. Balls into the 6 yard box should be claimed, dealt with by goalie. My son is a 15 year youth club footballer with only 2 years of goalkeeping experience and that has been drilled into him since Day 1
How anyone can blame Onana for this is beyond me, Dalot and Mazroaui are at fault

Bingo!Fergie binned Tim Howard for much less than what Onana has been serving up all season. He needs to go
He has very little ability to react quickly to unpredictable situations, the ball had a bit of a spin on it and he didn't know what to do. It's also one of the reasons any deflected ball is pretty much a guaranteed goal whether it's close to him or not. You can go back to the Europa League final 8 years ago to see he always had that problem.Lets be real. If that was De Gea the thread would be full of moans about him being glued to his line. Onana is caught dithering, seemingly confused as to where he should be. This happens way to often. He is not solely to blame here, which he definately is for the third goal, but he could do more.
I'm not sure he'll attract much interest, it won't be easy to move him onI think he will be moved on in the summer. There were signs of improvement but the old Onana is back
Dalot isn’t the problem
Shaw is the problem
Malacia is the problem
Our former CEO handing out contracts was the problem
Dalot is playing out of position
But how should Onana be claiming it when its nowhere near him?
it sailed across his nose - just dive and punch it.How? He would've got nowhere near it
Explain thisHe didnt cost us the game, claiming he did is just silly
Explain this
He's not a bad keeper, he's just too wildly inconsistent for a serious team. These errors come in big games too like the CL and FA Cup final. If you ignore red flags they will come when you least need them. Don't know if true but I read even Karius was having a great season before the CL final. It's also the same thing De Gea got cooked for and he was rightly binned. If anything the criticism is just people being unbiased.
Onana's performances have been more consistent than the defenders Infront of him though. If the defence were nervous about him then you'd expect them to be trying to compensate, but I don't see them doing that. It’s a unique position. You can’t have many mistakes in you. It’s better to always nail the basics and not be spectacular than to have spectacular games and drop clangers sometimes.
I’m not in the “he’s the worst keeper ever” camp, but he makes me nervous, and I think it’s fair to wonder if the players in front of him feel the same.
Explain this
Too many mistakes.
There are a lot of bad eggs in this set up, but it must be near enough impossible to dig deep and find a way out of the hole when you know deep down your mate between the sticks is averaging at least one significant error leading to goal per month.
Goalkeepers make mistakes, it’s part and parcel of the game, but 17 errors leading to goals in less than 18 months is ridiculous.
I was fed up with him after the CL performances last season and I recognise you can’t just shelve a €55m first teamer on a whim, but the reality is that Andre Onana has to be replaced. It’s too far gone now.
I think it’s admirable that you’re defending Onana but if you’ve ever played football at any level, you’ll know deep down how demoralizing it is to have a goalie behind you who doesn’t command his area and (worse still) always seems capable of the ridiculous.Yes that was a bad mistake but it didint cost us anything as the game was already lost at that point due to the fact we couldnt even manage a single shot on target other than the penalty.

I've defended, but the 2nd and 3rd goal yesterday were inexcusable, should be claiming the cross for the 2nd and whatever he did for the 3rd is beyond comprehension.
I'm done with him, it's that sort of performance where you know deep down he really doesn't give a shit.
Out of interest, the PL website/Opta has him at only 3 errors in the PL.
Where's the other 14 coming from?
I think it would be this one, Forest at home this season and last season when he punched a bloke in the head (the time they did give it as a penalty) or the Wolves corner concede (though not sure they'd class that as an error)
It's difficult because a) He had all those Champions League gaffs (I think there were 3 direct blunders and about 3 "He should have done better incidents") and b) He has loads of those "He's not directly at fault, but he could have done better moments" (like the 2nd goal yesterday)
We all knew he was signed for his passing rather than his ability as a goalkeeper. But has this vaunted passing ever actually made any difference?
