Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach | Thread locked during matches

being miserable when it comes to the manager and always having an agenda, rather than supporting mate. Like I said, can't argue when you've already decided it's the manager who's at fault in everything, pointless arguing.
Ok so yeah, you choose to hide behind the agenda card again even though I just explained my position to you. Good god.

Yeah, I can't argue with someone who makes assumptions and puts words in peoples mouths either to be honest. So we'll leave it there.

There’s still people in here crying after a night like that, feck me how miserable must your life be honestly

I never said it was an excuse, we clearly just lost it mentally after that with stupid mistakes. We should have put the game to bed.

I just think theres something fundamentally wrong when you are setting a team out with 5 defenders and two holding midfielders and conceding the amount we are. Just something isnt fundamentally working

Despite the win, and even if we win the Europa league, I still doubt he is the right profile for our club.

Certainly not a fan of the formation but he’s going to stick with it so hopefully we can get some better suited players in the summer.

We know the real United fans tonight. Those pathetic cretins still posting negative crap after such an emotional end to the game where the players genuinely played for the shirt and Amorim's changes directly helped us win the game are not real fans. Simple as. Fk off and go support City.

I agree with him. Dorgu isn’t the answer though we need technical quality to go with the physical traits. Hope Wilcox and co pick better in the summer.

I like Dorgu, very raw for sure, but he has potential. Is he the answer as our immediate LWB at the moment, probably not. But we need to invest elsewhere, and with limited moolah, we'll have to give him a full year to see where he's at, warts and all.

Who'd be a good lwb, decent price, who could slot right you reckon?

Anyone not watching the highlights on loop and arguing in here instead needs a good slap.

He got lucky tonight, he should've been making subs at 2-0 and kept legs fresh.

This. I made my first negative comment on him today on this forum for this exact reason. I thank him for giving the foil for the way the game ended - by doing sweet feck all at 2-0 when we were losing control. But I don’t thank him for aging me 3 years tonight.

It was poor management. We are through because of a penalty, a moment of magic and Maguire’s head. I don’t put anything down to Amorim.

I desperately want him to be given a summer window - but he needs to do better with in-game management.

Ah the bad things are down to Amorim but the good things aren’t. I see.

Don’t reply to me please. Not interested.

Init. If you can’t enjoy this then what is the point in even bothering with football? Yes we have been awful all season and but come on. 5 goals in extra time? That doesn’t happen often.

I’m happy to have my opinion picked apart. I’m entitled to feel frustrated. You’re commenting as if I’m a daily negative banshee towards Amorim.

No need for a snide remark at the end. You’re better than that.

I seriously wonder why some people in here watch football, it's supposed to be entertainment and if you didn't find that game enteraining then you need to find something else to watch

How can you say you don't put anything down to Amorim? Bizarre thing to say when just before it you said it was because of Maguire, wasn't that down to Amorim telling Maguire to stay upfront?

Thought that first half was excellent. Again it seems evident that the necessary quality from players isn’t quite there. Second half he stupidly got tight and didn’t trust subs to freshen the game and we dropped deeper and allowed them back into it.

But extra time was spot on, essentially put every single one of our most technical players on the pitch and added control to our attacks. The goals were horrid errors individually more so than some tactical issue.

Big onus is on us buying/selling well this summer otherwise he won’t last long into next season.

This. Especially when they started pressuring us - should have brought Mainoo or Mount, or both on far far far earlier than he did. Instead he dithered and we lost 2 quick goals.

not posted for ages I think he’s a great communicator and great guy but I just don’t think this system works especially in prem

No system will work with a squad of players that lack the physically for the Premier League. ETH build a weak team.

With no striking option on the bench, I think 99% of us would have thought sticking Maguire up top is the next best play.

I don’t want people to suddenly jump on a comment and suddenly act as if I’ve been solidly in the anti-Amorim camp. I also said I want him to be given the summer.

My WhatsApp messages to my pals very much indicate how much I loved the end of that game. Absolute joy. But that does negate how frustrating it is to have another manager standing not changing anything when we’re being slowly dominated and losing grip on the game.

I really want Amorim to succeed. My posts before tonight prove that. People can be frustrated in the moment.

What a game. Delighted to see him actually enjoying being our manager, even if it was for a few moments!

This season for me is where he needs to learn, he's joined us mid way. His in game management needs some working but honestly overall, i genuinely think he gets most of his subs right since his joined.

Just need to be patient and hope he learns quickly for next season. New managers, especially how young he is needs time though, even its half a season. some here unfortunately ain't giving him any. I don't understand how we've got a fan base not willing to give new managers time even by a few months

He has been at the helm for a few months now...but tonight was officially the start. Ruben Amorim, welcome to Manchester United!

I'm still not convinced. The Chosen One (Moyez) is doing better at Everton on a much lower budget. Amorim is not the answer at this time - the club is riddled

He's basically said they team lacked the pace and power to compete in the PL just there on TNT Sports. He knows what we're lacking.

You know Lyon aren't in the PL and outplayed is at home with 10 men for a long period of that match.

We won because he actually went away from playing this 3/5 at the back nonsense and stuck Maguire up front I mean that's hardly ground breaking yet stuff more like Alardyce ball, fair play to him for doing it but trying to take anything other than we got lucky away from this one is silly

Honestly it's important not to get emotional as that is one of the things that has set us back this past decade. We can get emotional and celebrate when we actually win this trophy.
I fecking modern fan culture. Telling supporters not to get emotional after an incredible comeback like that at home in Europe. This club is magical. You don't get it. Bore off.
