whjy the feck would you rue Pakistan's mistake when your country just won the fecking world cup in a form of the game?
Why the feck do you find the need to hate all things Pakistan?

The fact that 800,000 other sports including the national sport is ruined 'cos of a game that the nation still isn't the best at speaks volumes of how obtuse people can get

I was happier when we won the Nehru Cup

feck off. Pakistan have thrown the game away like Bayern Munich on that night in Barcelona.:)
feck off.

We deserved to win every match before this. Took SA and Eng to cleaners and won deserved against Aussies as well. This one could have gone either way, nobody really deserved to lose the final.
India weren't predicted to go through the 2nd round groups at all and definitely wasn't the favourites against SA or AUS...

They won them though just like Liverpool did coming all the way through to the final and then Pak should really have won it in the last over but didn't.

I never said you didn't deserve it did I? Or do you think Liverpool didn't deserve their CL win?

Oh do shut up Salv. Your "feck off Misbah, threw away the match " bit sounds like you wanted India to lose. We don't hate Pakistan. We're just happy India won. Really, if you hate cricket that much just stop watching it.

It's shit form of the game, which we just happen to be surprisngly good at.

Great, but don't go overboard. The match was good, I agree...but I felt much better when we won the Tests at their place in 04.Now that was an achievement. And a fecking good one.

Aye, we all agree Test matches are far more testing but hell this was good fun. Really exciting stuff. The cup doesn't mean much but it was nice to see us playing well and winning.

Shoaib Malik "First of all I'd like to thank people back home and the Muslims around the world. We gave our 100%," he says. "India have a strong batting line-up. We did well to restrict them to less than 160 but our batting didn't come through. The Indians bowled really well and we played some bad shots. That's why we ended up on the losing side in this game."

The Man of the Match award goes to Irfan Pathan who says: "It's a great comeback for me. I held my nerve and bowled in the right areas. The pitch was a bit on the slower side. It gripped a bit when I bowled slower balls. I tried to mix up the pace and keep things tight. In the end it could have gone any way. The bowlers all did really well when Misbah was batting well. We played as a team and we won."

The Player of the Tournament award goes to Shahid Afridi who says: "Winning and losing is part of it. But we played really good cricket. Congratulations to the Indian captain and the whole team. I struggled a bit with my batting but I concentrated on my bowling."

Mahendra Singh Dhoni "It's one of the things I will treasure for the rest of my life. I'd like to congratulate the boys and thank them for the response they have given me. No-one expected us to win and the way we played today we deserve a big celebration. Pakistan bowled really well today in the second half. But we knew we had runs on the board and we could bring some pressure on the batsmen. Bhajji was not 100% sure of getting yorkers in the death. I thought I should throw the ball to someone who really wants to well in international cricket. Jogi did a really good job."

That's beside the point.
Even if one thinks Liverpool deserved their CL win which I don't , they crawled their way into the final unlike us who took the other teams head on. Watch their quarters against Juve and Semis against Chelsea. Sneaked a lucky goal or two and defended with their lives.

And we threw the match away before you did. 53 off 4 overs should never be scored especially with other team 7 down.

Its just a like to like you shouldn't take it as a diss. Liverpool still won it fair and square lucky or not - everyone has a bit of luck to win a tournament.

I'd rather think PAK threw it away when Malik and Afridi were out in the one over.

Aye, we all agree Test matches are far more testing but hell this was good fun. Really exciting stuff. The cup doesn't mean much but it was nice to see us playing well and winning.
I think that can be said for both teams. It's ages since I felt the whole PAK team were together with no behind the scene troubles and they were playing well together. Especially after what happened to both teams at the WC going out early. There are a lot of youngsters as well so the future looks good.

Good fun tournament for the spectators in the end...

Is it wrong to root for Pakistan?

You ain't even subject to 0.1 percent of hooplah in here which gets on my tits

Now that India have won the darn thing it gives the masses a few years of grace in terms of demand. Lose against Australia down under...no problem, we are 20-20 champions, replacing the events at Sharjah as the second best moment in Indian cricket history

Cry me a river

I don't understand what's wrong in rooting for Pak.I was pretty neutral for this and would'nt have minded seeing them win it.

It would've REALLY gotten on my little nipples if it were the Aussies instead of Pak beating us.

Hey Bhagwan. Quite obviously I find it rather strange that any Indian would support any other team over India at anything. But hey, you stick to whatever it is that you're thinking.

Spastic.

Quite like some of the idiots that were actually cheering on here when India got knocked out of the WC in the first round.

I didn't support any team. Pakistan were starting to pull out an underdog's win which made me sway their way

You should work for the BJP

What the feck? Like I said, I agree that this cup doesn't mean much but hell it was great to see us win like that. And I would have been quite gutted had we lost. I fail to see why you and Salv are reacting like that.

Winning the Youth Cup doesn't match up to winning the league but that doesn't mean I'll support Liverpool in a final against us.

Because I expect you to support India? Actually I did think that you supported the team. Guess I was wrong.

That's a spastic comparison

You ain't subject to any of the media bollocks in here. If you were you'd know how bad the situation is and how much is it in need of perspective

Because I've spent the last 3 years out of the country? You think I don't know how bad things are?

Should that stop me from supporting my team? SHould that stop me from enjoying a sport I like to watch? ANd you really think that if we lose at cricket we'll become better at other sports? What logic.

It is a bit like F1 for me...enjoy it when arsed to follow, but that doesn't mean I have to support Jordon 'cos Narain Karthikeyan was in it. It is a spectacle (albeit in today's world an excuse for fuel wastage, but that's another debate) and appreciate it

India retained the Asia Cup in hockey after thrashing Korea in the finals. National sport, you gave two fecks about it? Only a handful did. That's what I mean, getting some perspective

Again, the question was never of support. It was of perspective. Chalk and cheese

You have completely lost the plot here Salvation.

Basically derailing the thread with senile comments. Why would you support Pakistan over India? Amazing that any Indian would admit to it. It's not about haitng every thing Pakistani like some people which every nation has but they are still our rivals and we have had acrimonious relations with them for over 60 years now resulting in multiple wars. Ridiculous and no explanation covers it.

Who cares?
You can't force people into liking other sports.

I still think T20 is not good for the game but it was great performance by Indian team over the last week. Cricket fans are obviously are going to over joyed by it. For someone who has so much disdain for Indian cricket you do spend an awful lot of time fuming over it.
