I know a lot of people put him in their predicted team but with all due respect how the feck and what the feck is Fletcher doing in ahead of Scholes and Hargreaves?

Dont get me wrong I'm not a Fletcher hater or anything and sure he can be a big game player but this is a massive shock/surprise
i agree, but i suppose fergie reckons he can do it at OT and Hargreaves and Scholes played full games at the weekend.

Basically, Hargreaves was brought for Europe and Scholes usually starts matches. Nice to see Fergie picking players based on form, I suppose. Carrick/Anderson are our in form midfielders so I'm glad they're starting at least. Fletcher/Carrick/Anderson were fantastic against Arsenal so here's hoping they can repeat that performance.

It's a shame for Tevez though, scores the crucial away goal and has to still sit on the bench.

Not really, he will give it his all without worry of saving energy for the next match. Not sure about Hargreaves, i think he could come on depending on the situation.

Surprised Scholes, Hargreaves and Tevez are not playing but I like Carrick being in there.

Hard to call this game. I think we will concede but still go through.
A nervey 2-1 maybe?

Its a very shrewd move by Ferguson imo. Fletcher brings us a massive energy boost to our performance. Look at the players who started against Roma (Fletcher/Smith) they both had fantastic games.

No Tevez is strange as SAF was singing his praises yesterday.

it really is a young side isn't it? The average age of the outfield players must be pretty low.

Really just cant get my head around how a month ago Fletch hadn't started a game in ages yet now he's ahead of both Scholes and Hargreaves (who both had great games at the weekend) in a massive Champions League game

I guess that game against Arsenal really turned SAF's head

Good and young lineup from midfield-attack.

I said during the Arsenal game that Fletcher has had the game of his life, let's hope i was wrong. Got a feeling he's gonna do well today. Him and Carrick are both natural midfielders, which will allow Anderson to get forward as forward as much as possible.

And there was me thinking the other day how great it is that we can play Scholes\Carrick\Hargreaves\Anderson tonight and then freshen things up with Fletcher against Derby on Saturday...... looks like we'll be freshening things up by bringing back Scholes and Hargreaves for that game

God a fecking love our squad

Surprised Hargreaves didn't get the start. SAF's really going for it today. Let's see some goals lads!!

Scholes on the bench? Madness!

fecking hell!!

Rooney on his own up front at home? Are we trying to play for a 0-0 or a scrappy 1-0?? Are we paying too much respect to Lyon? :nervous:

Anyways, these days Fergies squad selection always has me shitting bricks prior to kick off and yet we have been getting decent results. Lets hope the trend continues.

Come on United!!

Their line up is much too offensive, if they try to play the same tempo as we do and open up their defense and midfield, they probably will get hammered.
