Miguel Veloso, Andrei Arshavin and David Bentely

At first, I questioned why Ramos left Sevilla for Spurs. Now I can understand why if he gets to spend all this money.

Different players. Bentley is more about his delivery than Lennon. Arshavin has a much better football brain than Dos Santos.
 
Why does everybody keep saying this? They haven't actually signed any of the above. Modric is a decent player and Dos Santos may or may not work out. If, and it is a big IF they sign the 4 players mentioned in here you could possibly say it but until then it's just not true.

They're about to lose Berbatov which takes them several steps backwards since he's their only T4Q player.
 
These 3 players will cost around 45 mil they won't be buying them unless they unload berbatov me thinks? Leaving them with only 1 proper striker. Instead of veloso they should try and get barry and put a swap offer to villa for jenas. That would be way more effecient for them if of course villa except. Plus it would leave them cash for a striker.

However it may turn out that they get all there money they need from the berbatov sale and we get ripped off as per usual.

Would be more impressive if they actually signed some top class defenders, also I dont rate Gomes as a top class keeper in anyway, that said he has to be better than Robinson

That certainly isn't true. Spurs have several players who are at least as good as their equivalent in one or more of the current T4 teams.

Gomes will make Robinson look competent, IMO. Completely un-suited to dealing with all the high crosses he's gonna face in the PL. That's one signing Ramos has got very badly wrong

But my post above - responding to Master Storey's post - was not about who is our best player. I said "Spurs have several players who are at least as good as their equivalent in one or more of the current T4 teams."

It's interesting that you now start to qualify your statement with reference to injuries, even aside from the fact that Woodgate started in 33 games last season.

* Both King and Woodate are at least as good players as Gallas, Toure, Carragher, Agger and other one or two other T4 CBs.

* Hutton is as least as good as Brown at RB and better than Liverpool's RB.

* Bale is as least as good as Liverpool's LB

* Modric is better than Diaby or Denilson, or whoever else will partner Fabregas in CM from your current squad.

* Gomes is better than Almunia. His record is the best in the entire history of the dutch top division.

* Lennon is better than Pennant or whoever else Liverpool play in RM unless Gerrard is forced out there to try and fill the void.

* Dos Santos will prove better than Rosicky

And those are by no means all the examples. All the more so, when Arshavin signs (as he will) and one or two other surprises are unveiled.

Hutton as good as Brown? Dos Santos better than Rosicky? While you are at it Jenas is better than Fabregas and Scholes, Bent will prove a better player than Rooney and Adebayor. Ramos a better manager than Wenger and Ferguson. White Hart Lane has a larger capacity than the Emirates and Old Trafford........

First of all, we really need to stop referring to the ''Top 4'' as a single entity.


2 + 2 is more appropriate as it highlights the big difference in quality of United and Chelski's (albeit very expensive) squads and those of Arse and Lpool.


Spurs DO have a couple (as in 2 or 3) players that would start for Liverpool or Arse.

They have ONE that would start for United or Chelski.

I think spurs will be a force next season, two very tough games for us assuming they have a regular goalscorer and keep Woodgate and King fit.

Based on what is Hutton better than Brown? Guy has played half a season in the fecking top league and suddenly he is better than Brown now is he? Same goes for Bale, based on what 10 games he is now better than Fabio Aurelio? Like feck he is, don't get me wrong both are good players who I rate but lets see them play a full season at least before we start assuming they are better other fullbacks. As for Modric being better than either Diaby/Denilson. Why don't you compare like for like? The player beside Fabregas won't be our main play maker like Modric will be for you, he should be compared to Fabregas and it isn't hard to figure who is better there.

As for Dos Santos, what else can you see in your crystal ball? So he will 100% become better than Rosicky right? Rosicky is a brilliant player but the guy can't keep himself fit for 2 months. You also do realise there is a reason why Barca won't even entertain clubs asking about their other youth players like Messi, Bojan, Iniesta and Xavi in the past but seemed quite willing to ship Dos Santos off, so you don't need me to explain to you why they let him go.

The flaw in your argument is that most of the positions you have highlighted in the top 4 teams are weak spots for that particular team and don't actually contain top 4 quality players.

For instance Liverpool don't have a top 4 quality right winger, Almunia is not a top 4 quality keeper etc

And also Hutton is actualy not as good as brown, and no where near the quality of a fit Gary Neville.

Lennon is not better than Pennant, they are of similar quality.

There is also no way you can claim with any certainty Dos Santos will be better than Rosicky

The only top 4 quality players you currently possess besides Berbatov are possibly Woodgate and King, despite their liability to injury

Which means what? What's your point? So they played two really good games against us last year and this makes most if not all their players as least as good as the top 4. What do you make of man city's squad? Need I remind you that they did the double over us.
Like glaston why don't you name which players on spurs are AT LEAST as good the top 4 and we can continue from there.

My point was that they have a good enough team with a tough defence to give us a run for our money, you said their team was "cack" Following?

Im not glaston by the way but i would say Woodgate and King if they could stay fit for a season are of that level, Berbatov obviously. Lennon could get on the bench for Liverpool definitely.

So apart from woodgate and king (which are both injury prone) and aside from berbatov you don't rate the rest as top 4 quality? Their midfield would have no shot against the top 4 and only berbatov is top 4 amongst their strikers.
Glaston stated that most of their players are at least as top 4 quality which means that if they are at as good as the top 4 players in al likelihood they are better than the top 4 players which is a joke. It's comments like that deserves a rebutal of his team being cack.
