There are now 10 Berba related threads in the United forum.
Looks like this thread is finally at an end. May I add for one last time the final Berbometer, and say goodbye to this thread for ever. The berb moves on.

RIP Berbatov thread.

I cant believe that i've posted 361 times in here. I only started posting a while after the rumours came alive again in the summer and it was already a multi page thread back then.

"We tried to get him when he was at Leverkusen, but we only had a few days to get it done," the boss told MUTV in an exclusive interview to be aired at 18:30 BST Tuesday.

"Tottenham had already made a bid. Unfortunately, we hadn't moved at the right time two years ago. Now we've managed to get him. It's cost us a bit more money, but he's worth it

so we did overpay

So you think that Anderson, Nani, Fletcher, Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Manucho, Foster and Evans etc. won't develop, while the descent of Giggs, Scholes and Neville will ruin us? For your information, our starting eleven could well be better without any of them at the moment.
I didn't say that anyone won't develop, I said I don't think that the seemingly-intended long term replacements (Anderson and Nani for Scholes and Giggs effectively) will step up as much as needed.

I'm not sure why you mention Ronaldo, Rooney, Fletcher and the others in this context.

Well yes, considering we would have got him for £20M less back then, 2 years ago.

Edit: Unless it would have started a massive bidding war between us and tottenham

Spurs are gonna progress feck all until they buy a high class defensive midfielder. Hell, even Hull and Stoke could boss around against a midfield containing Jenas and Modric.
Chelsea at Stamford Bridge weren't able to do that.

Because they are young and will improve further during the season. Nothing strange with young players stepping up, adding to the quality of the squad. So United are basically a two man squad with Giggs and Scholes? Without them Liverpool are better than us? I've respected your opinions and reflections in alot of your earlier sensible posts. But this is just downright laughable.

BahamaRed should have the last post before the thread gets locked I reckon.

Fair enough, and most of them may well do so, although I have to say that Rooney has been 'about to deliver' on his potential for a fair while now without ever really doing so. That's not to say he isn't a very good player, just that I don't think he's quite as good as many of your fans like to believe.

So United are basically a two man squad with Giggs and Scholes? Without them Liverpool are better than us?
That's not what I've said at all - what is the point in inventing absurd distortions only to knock them down again?

Last season Ronaldo made an incredible contribution to your success: there's not likely to be a repeat performance from him at anything close to the same level for several reasons. Scholes and Giggs are also likely to make less of a contribution and I have doubts that Anderson - and Nani in particular - will be able to step up that much.

One the plus side you now have Berbatov.

To believe that Liverpool have no chance of finishing 2nd is clearly a biased and unreasonable view. They have a stronger squad than last season, have started fairly well in points terms and are in with a shot in my view. Your forthcoming match with them will show us a lot either way.

If you wish to have such a precise prediction then I'll go for 6th, because it may well take so many new players a while to gel and in some cases adapt to the Prem.

Corluka has played in the DM position many times.

Where do you predict MUFC will finish? My guess is 3rd behind Chelsea and Liverpool, because:
Oh, behave you!
