I don't care for the others but I would like to see us play Sporting, then Juventus, followed by Bayern and finally Barca in final

I would love it to be Real and thrash them.

But I am not confident we will beat them over two legs.

I hope we play Sporting, and then the winner of Panathinaikos v Atletico.

Why is everyone so keen to get Real? Everyone knows that the team that beat Real never win it!
There's some silly rule about that, isn't there? Something like the team who goes further in the competition than Real wins it, or a team that beats another team that beat another team that was with Real in group wins it.

It's the team that beats the team that knocked out Real Madrid ends up winning the whole thing. Last season we beat Roma, who had beaten Madrid en route.

There is also the rule in the past few years where the current holders of the competition have been knocked out in the 2nd round.

I'd happily draw anyone from our list of possibilities. Inter is obviously the least desirable because of the Mourinho factor and they seem to have bucked their ideas up over the past month or so. But their record in Europe is pretty sketchy this season, and in general. We'd stuff Madrid over two legs. I kind of hope we get the Francos.

I've got a pretty little mouth underneath all the
No real easy games. Outside the portuguese and greek teams i think every team is capable of beating every other teams.

Of course some would find it easier than others but all it takes is one bad game or one team to raise their game and a shock can happen. I'm looking forward to the draw, there must be some cracking ties with the way the 1sts and 2nds are this year.

The firsts and seconds are just whacked out. English and CL football has been very unpredictable and strange this year.

I've given up wishing us anyone - I wished us the group we got in 2005. :nervous:

The odds of getting Real or Inter are extremely high though.

We can only possibly draw Inter, Real, Sporting, Atletico Madrid, and Lyon.

So that's a 40% chance we'll get Fascists or Mourinho.

So many things you have to do in order to get the trophy. Not only you have to win games, it's not enough - you have to avoid being paired up with Real Madrid, or playing the 2nd round.

I'd like you to get drawn against Athletico. Not because I think they would beat you but they would be 2 good games which could go either way.

Would be nice to give Madrid a real stuffing (lol, I know). Ronaldo scoring against them would be priceless

No, they couldn't, we'd beat them comfortably. They aren't that special, and get shown up against any top side. Real and Barcelona spank them all the time (well they used to be a nightmare for Barcelona back in Torres days, not so much anymore).

Not sure why anyone would want Real Madrid. It would mean two tiresome clashes, we'd probably eliminate them, but it'd still be difficult and the pressure would be immense on both sides. I don't think we'd want to cope with that at this stage of competition when we can draw Atletico or Sporting and go through while not being at our very best.

We did well last season in being paired up with Lyon and Roma in first two knock-out rounds. Not the easiest draws possible, but both teams were clearly way below our class.

There would be a nuclear explosion on here if we drew Real Madrid and went out.

There would be 12 year olds burning effigies of Sir Alex on the streets from London to Los Angeles.

Exactly, I'd obviously expect us to beat Real Madrid but there'd definitely be a possibility of us going out. And it couldn't get more painful.

Yeah we blew our brains out in two massive games against Milan last year while you coasted through in second gear.

I agree

Id rather get one of the weaker teams. The second half of the season is going to be tough. Id rather we avoid the big guns for now so we can maintain our challenge in the league.

I would like a crack at juve later in the competition though for old times sake.

It was your fault though. With the amount of chances you had in the first game, you could have gone to Milan as tourists and enjoy the sights.
