Is that confirmed or 'SSN Sources'?One go on SSN now.
hat

door (close it on the way)
CHA-FECKIN'-CHING!
The reporter (forget his name) said it was one full sum, 80 million sheets straight up.Is that confirmed or 'SSN Sources'?
No fecking way, surely? One go on SSN now.
WOW if thats true. Makes accepting it even more understandable. The reporter (forget his name) said it was one full sum, 80 million sheets straight up.
I was suprised too.
Unconditional doesn't have to mean it's paid in one go.It was always an unconditional offer, meaning that the money was to be paid in full.
It would be nice for us to steal some of the limelight from Real and announce a few signings of our own on the same day.
cocks out!One go on SSN now.
Unconditional just means that they'll pay the full £80m, not £50m rising to £80m based on performances etc.It was always an unconditional offer, meaning that the money was to be paid in full.

I'm not so sure. Selling clubs don't have as much bargaining power as some may think, certainly when it's Man United knocking on the door. The only thing that will change is that they may request more money upfront, rather than in installments. If it was the full sum up-front and word gets out, it will make any transfer negotiations this summer that bit harder.
Why isn't she in the kitchen? If the missus wasn't watching something, I would!
I'm not quite so sure, the selling clubs don't HAVE to sell to United. This isn't sunny Spain, we're not Real or Barca. We need more quality and depth now that Ronaldo is gone. I'd say selling clubs have all the power, especially when it comes to United attempting to bid on quality players.I'm not so sure. The 1st of July being the first day of the new financial year as well. Hopefully there'll be some developments on possible recruits my then too.SkySports Northwest correspondent — I can't remember his name — has said that the "unconditional" aspect of the deal means that on July 1st, the full £80m will be paid to United.
If that's true, and I have my doubts, considering the reports to the contrary — although, given that those other reports have not been consistent with each other, you never know — no wonder they accepted the offer, with so little negotiation.
jesus christ...I was listening on the radio about his wages. As it goes up each yearand hes on a 6 year contract, he would be on about £460,000 to £600,000 per week at the end of the contract
All the other reports say four yearly installments - but if we get the full amount in one go that'd be fantastic, although I don't think it will happen like that.SkySports Northwest correspondent — I can't remember his name — has said that the "unconditional" aspect of the deal means that on July 1st, the full £80m will be paid to United.

Financial year started on the 6th of April. Or do you mean the European tax year? The 1st of July being the first day of the new financial year as well. Hopefully there'll be some developments on possible recruits my then too.
Is not paying over the odds, despite having £80 million to spend, more important than winning the league?I certainly wouldn't mind if Gill/SAF didn't buy anyone during this transfer period, not give into the madness. Shitty and Real have truly fecked the market for everyone. I would hate to see United forced to buying players at a premium just because we have this massive war chest now...
I'm sure united knew all season this was going to happen before it went public and have all or most of the signings already in place before it got out that they have 80million to splash. If it was the full sum up-front and word gets out, it will make any transfer negotiations this summer that bit harder.
Shouldn't that be in the Tevez thread?
at least £80, there's also whatever United already had alotted for this transfer period before Ronaldo, the £ from Tevez, and the £ if any other United players are sold.... that's quite a bit of quidIs not paying over the odds, despite having £80 million to spend, more important than winning the league?
I thought that started ages ago?I think the first of July is the start of the transfer window so it can only be completed then.
Shouldn't that be in the Tevez thread?
So how much are Real paying in total over 6 years, including the initial transfer fee?I was listening on the radio about his wages. As it goes up each yearand hes on a 6 year contract, he would be on about £460,000 to £600,000 per week at the end of the contract
what the feck is that???Shouldn't that be in the Tevez thread?
Would be funny if they posted it in cash. In a big fat brown envelope and a 2nd class stamp.full lump sum arriving on Wednesday apparently
I think its fair to say we wont spend over that £80 million. Its a lot of money and as you say, people will take the piss with prices but thats enough to get in some players who will shortly become what we need. Maybe not the 100% finished articles of a Ribery + David Villa or something. But players we wouldnt be looking to replace in the first team in the next 2 seasons at least.at least £80, there's also whatever United already had alotted for this transfer period before Ronaldo, the £ from Tevez, and the £ if any other United players are sold.... that's quite a bit of quid
I'm torn, because buying Benzema or Ribery or whomever doesn't necessarily guarantee a championship. Not buying anyone definitely lowers chances by a lot, but at least we won't get skinned on transfer prices...
