Subs;
Asenjo, Zapata, Evans, De Rossi, Marquinhos, Vela,

And then one of my younger players as 7th sub.

Anyone think they could beat it?
i think my

julio cesar
maicon-gamberini-samuel-maxwell
messi-palombo-hamsik-ribery
ibrahimovic-balotelli

backed up by

toldo, zanetti, young, sanchez, santa cruz, busquets, zapata

and a youth team getting 100 points a season, who after 7 games this season have double the points and double the goals of second, who have conceded 7 goals, could match any squad for sure, first 11 might not always win but over the course of a season i would be very confident

Give it time ;)

Although the good thing about that team is that it's mid table Blue Square Prem and didn't cost me a penny.
Eh?

I meant that none of us would be able to compete with you :)

my prediction guy is getting very cocky, he made a comment that i would win (note that this happened to be my 40th league game without defeat after losing one at the start of last season)

also there defenders all had an unbelievable game, apart from felipe who made one mistake before being lambasted by the prediction idiot, that mistake was 87 minutes in FFS give him a break, he played well

At what point did your chairman step aside? I was sort of bored, so I decided to start a game with Inter (at least begin there, I plan on being a bit of a nomad), and... christ, I guess I'm lucky all my opponents imploded. All my defenders are injured, most of my team is very unspectacular as it is, my transfer budget is very low and the wage budget is already used up.

Christ...

Also, almost all of the scouts are useless, and the coaching staff is nothing to write home about either, and they all have ludicrously high termination fees!

Edit: You got 30 million for Cambiasso?! I guess I should sell him and get in a defender and a midfielder. In a fit of FM-geek'ism I just spent all my transfer budget on Vagner Love.

yes, madrid ove for him every time, but it isn't long before the super-cup so you have to move fast when they do, i would reccomend palombo from sampdoria for 14mill, very good holding midfielder, difficlt to get past and plays marvellous passes

Cheers, I'll see what I can do. I just hope I get bought out as well. In my United-game, which is in its third season, Inter is still like that.

if moratti leaves before the transfer window shuts its very bad news, if he still has the club after the window shuts then there is every chance you'll get more money

Only around where Top Reds are!
In Jan in my 2nd season, and just have gotten an offer of 27 million quid for Nani, all cash upfront, from Madrid!

In such a dilemma to accept it or not!? I mean feck, 27 million quid, but then again, who else out there is as good a winger as Nani, at least stats wise, who I can buy for less money than that?!

All that cash would be awesome, but then who do I replace him with? PLus he's only 23 and would give me so many good years?! But 27 million's a lot too..

And I may be wrong but, it's really annoying how for me at least, transfer funds don't get CARRIED over to the next season!?
Last season (my first season for United,) i received 35 million for Berbatov etc, and a bit more cash for Park, had 44 million in the bank to spend in around Jan which I didn't spend and saved up, when it was May/June I thought my new transfer kitty would be ADDED to that 44 million..

Turns out I started off the next season with a budget of 49 million.. I don't get it? surely my new season's budget wasn't only 5 million quid?

Another thing, does the fact that United have debt means not all the transfer funds i receive from selling players go back into the kitty?
For example, I had 3 million left in my budget, sold Carrick for 17 million cash upfront as he wasn't happy at the club. My budget after the transfer was only 13 million?:S Where'd the 7 other million go?! Shouldn't 17 + 3 = 20 million?!

So now i've come to the conclusion that, always try and spend your budget before the end of the season as if you don't it gets wasted and doesn't get carried over? Or is that not true?

You can see somewhere (in the Finances tab, i believe) what percentage of your transfer sales will be made available to you. I think at United it starts at around 60%, but can easily get up to 100% if you play your cards right.

It is important to look at the financial and off-the-pitch side of things if you want true success imo - so in your case, that extra £40m or so that "disappeared" was likely put into the bank account and hence used to pay off the club debt in part, or something like that.

As United, I tried to ensure that Old Trafford got expanded - twice in the first two seasons I managed to persuade the board to go ahead with the idea (which meant pretty low budgets in the meantime for wages and transfers), but when you are selling out a 100k capacity ground twice a week (compared to 60k) it is a pretty major boost to your revenue and helps in the long term.

Additionally, if you can make enough money, your debt will start to clear up a bit too. In my game at around 2012, good old Mr Gill announced to me that thanks to the improvements in the clubs financial state since I took charge, they had been able to pay off a sizable chunk of the loan. Not having those interest payments adds another big haul to my annual budgets.

Finally, in about 2013, Gill had to retire, and one of the Glazers (Bill?) won the election to step up and become chairman. In doing so, he injected another £70m from his personal wealth into the club.

January of my first season in the big league.

Hovering above relegation zone, could be a tricky end to the season and the injuries are mounting up. I just can't seem to defend corners.

After voyaging this thread for some time I´ve decided to contribute.

Currently playing for United in 2014/2015 season.

My starting line up:

Akinfeev

Santon Rio Vida Evra

Ronaldo Veloso Fabregas Nani

Rooney Benzema

I need to figure out the defence soon...selling Evans this summer didn't help in this aspect but 30m offer from Barca was too good to refuse.

Ohh and I just won the World Cup with England. Gary Neville and Becks played their part too. Gary literally retired from the game as world cup winner.

Foster

G.Neville Rio Wes Cole/Mattock

Becks/Bentley/Walcott Hargo Carrick Young/J.Cole

Rooney Welbeck

When Gary got tired, I moved Wes on the right and called in sub Mr. Terry (who was of course stripped off captaincy in favor of Rio). In state of emergency I have also used Gerrard and Lampard but their status quo was on the bench. Ohh, and my back-up keeper was Amos.

Thought as much it had something to do with the debt, but I've yet to look at the financial statements in much detail. Lots of good info there though, so thanks a lot, appreciate it . :)

Will try skimming through it next time I'm playing...Just had the stadium expanded to an around 90,000 all seater so that should hopefully help out..

Do funds in the transfer kitty though not get carried over to the following season if not spent?

There's a take over and the new boss gives your massive amounts of transfer funds... im not sure if its a pretend message or it actually happens though.

You could change the date on your computer and play the game to see if it happens. I might do it next time April 1 rolls around in game.

Yeah it happened to me. It's not a take over I think it just said "We'd like to give you £500m to build a new stadium and buy new players!"

Wankers.

So Roma were interested in one of my D/DM's - Cedric Mongongu (valued at £4.7m)- and made an enquiry, to which I told them £15 million would suffice. And I only chose that sum as I thought it would scare them away, whilst also keeping my player happy just incase he was to get upset at me rejecting their advances.

The next day they bid £11, which obviously wasn't the value I quoted so as I go to click reject/tell them to shove it I realise the option's not there... To my dismay I see my Chairman decided that the deal was too good to refuse and accepted. Like feck he did!

(I reloaded)

BTW, I'll post up a screenshot of my new record 9-0 trouncing of Empoli, and my profile for that personal player experiment thingy!

Marquinhos, Aquino, Vicente (who you should be able to get for dirt, then pawn off later after a good season for big dollars), that Nigerian from Hoffenheim, Matias Fernandes (from Villarreal, should be available for 5> after the first season)....

There's a fair few options out there man. Mind you Nani was excellent in my mates game when playing as a high attacking Winger.

He's on a long term contract as it is, but I sorted it out so they didn't bid so everything's fine ATM.

But as it turns out (and shit like this usually happens right after something like that) Veloso had bids placed on him for a smooth £23m (from AC Milan), I got excited and went to make an offer only to realise I only had £15m... Oh, how handy and extra £11m would've been right about then. Sigh.

Meanwhile Matuidi, who I sold to Lazio for £10m at the start of the season (after buying him for £7.5m after one season - he just wasn't performing, I bought Gojko Kacar with the money), has had offers of £27.5m for a fecking CO-OWNERSHIP after only HALF A SEASON. WTF!

Now Kacar's performing at a slightly higher average, but I think I maybe should've kept him!

I'm only in my third year, and Nani is making me forget that Ronaldo has been injured for 2 months. He's been my best player in that time, putting in some crazy performances at left wing (wing, mind, not midfielder). He's outplaying Messi by far, though I suspect that is down to the fact that Messi doesn't speak English yet.

I can't speak from the beginning of the game, but right now there's no way I'd sell Nani for £27 million. Maybe for £40 million.

The Football Experiment

Okay, might as well get started. I'll do the "start out as youngsters in random clubs" one, as that's the one I've done before, and I've got it mostly worked out. If it goes well, there's not a too long stretch from the players you make for this and the players you can have if I do a "same club" idea. I've also got a rather ambitious club/manager/league sort of idea which I might want to try if this is a success, but all in due time!

Here's what I need from you, if you still want to "play":

General:

Name: S. Strazdis
Date of Birth (not year, we'll all be 1993): 27/10
City of Birth (optional): Melbourne
Nation: Australia
Position (you can pick two 'natural' ones, like DR/DL or CM/DM); you don't have to pick two, though): DR/WBR
Preferred Squad Number (you can pick the same as someone else, doesn't matter): 3
Disliked clubs (I won't do favoured clubs (so everyone but Spammy doesn't end up at United), but everyone can pick 2 disliked clubs): Tottenham, Chelsea
Preferred foot (left/right 1-20): 10-20
Height/weight (optional): 190cm, 75kg

Attributes:

You must give every stat a number, you can't enter 0. You can use "1" a total of 5 times, and you can only use 16 or over 2 times.

Mental Attributes - 155 points

Aggression: 8
Anticipation: 14
Bravery: 6
Composure: 10
Concentration: 12
Consistency: 12
Creativity: 10
Decisions: 11
Dirtiness: 1 *
Flair: 5
Important Matches: 12
Influence: 5
Off The Ball: 12
Positioning: 13
Teamwork: 10
Work Rate: 14

Technical Attributes - 110 points

Corners: 1 *
Crossing: 12
Dribbling: 14
Finishing: 5
First Touch: 12
Free Kicks: 1 *
Heading: 5
Long Shots: 6
Long Throws: 1 *
Marking: 12
Passing: 11
Penalty Taking: 1 *
Tackling: 14
Technique: 10
Versatility: 5

Physical Attributes - 90 points

Acceleration: 14
Agility: 12
Balance: 6
Injury Proneness: 4
Jumping: 4
Natural Fitness: 14
Pace: 14
Stamina: 13
Strength: 9

We'll start out at 110/200. It's very high for players that are so young, but then we're supposed to be top class talents. Odds are we won't be messing around in the lower levels for too long (though being picked up too early is also a potential problem. In the last one I did a guy who got picked up by his favourite club, Real Madrid, very early, was actually one of the latest to develop fully. He just didn't get enough first team action).

The "Person Data Attributes" will be the same for everyone, and here's what I'm thinking.

Adaptability: 20
Ambition: 20
Controversy: 15
Determination: 20
Loyalty: 5
Pressure: 20
Professionalism: 15
Sportsmanship: 10
Temperament: 20.

Preferred Moves

• Runs With Ball Down Right
• Dives Into Tackles
• Gets Forward Whenever Possible

In my United game, I've decided to screw tactical tinkering between matches. For the last few games, I've been going a very attacking strategy (and the attacking strategy of that strategy), and so far its going very well. I'm not going to win the league anyway, due to an insanely strong (or well playing) Arsenal. They have dropped points in 3 games so far, and the season is almost over.

I'm not just doing it on a whim, though. In my long term game, I went attacking formation an entire season with Roma, and won 30 games, drawing 4, in the league. That's what finally convinced me that the AI doesn't really cheat, or that it necessarily "learns" your tactic (though I'm sure it did that in past CM's and FM's).

Edit: Love it. Using that philosophy, I just came back from 1-0 away to an unbeatable Arsenal to beat them 3-1. Of course, they had two penalty shouts turned down, and I had one given :D

Just started a new season. I have added Prestwich Heys into the Conference North, Im sat comfortably in a mid table position after the first half of the season.

I have a transfer budget of £0 and a wage budget of about £1.5k
