Fred - Matic and Pog ahead.. should be the midfield 3.

Martial - Rashford and one of Greenwood or James.

Matic in for McTominay should be the call. A necessary evil.
I know it blasphemous at this point, but we have to get Matic on today, it would be a tough physical battle and Fred is basically non-existent in the air, so Matic and Pogba will have to bear that burden.

That's me assuming Pogba can even start, we might be a bit screwed without him.

    Tend to agree.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if he opts for:

    Fred - Pogba

    Lingard

    James - Martial - Rashford
I don't think he fancies Matic much.

These are the games where Ole needs to put his money where his mouth is. All well and good trusting youth when it suits, but away to Burnley on a cold evening when you really, really need 3 points? I’d like to see us bring Garner in, but I could just as easily see him plumping for Matic.

I'm also of the mind that Matic needs to come in. A 3 of him, Pogba and Fred should be the way to go. Anything to avoid having either of Lingard or Perreira on the pitch.

Ole has spoken of Tuanzebe's ability too play as a defensive midfielder. I wouldn't be surprised too see him Fred and Pogba as the 3.

There will be screams of ineptitude
Everyone will call Lingard shit, whether he is on the pitch or not.

    Game will start slowly.
Burnley will put everything behind the ball.
Everyone will call Pereira shit, whether he is on the pitch or not

We will struggle to break them down.
Burnley will score from their first counter attack/corner.
Terms like Rashford, Championship Player, worst player ever to wear the shirt will be constant.

Ole is utterly incompetent will be trending by half time.
Pogba will be world class/shite while also being overrated/underrated/virus
Pereira will get booked, whether he is on the pitch or not.

United will have 65 percent of the ball.
It'll be equally, 65 minutes when we have our first shot on target.
Martial will be called lazy before having a brilliant last 10 minutes.

Maguire's transfer fee will be brought up for the three millionth time
AWB will end up being the best player on the pitch
Someone will call Luke Shaw fat and slow, whether he is on the pitch or not.

It'll still be 1-0 on 75 minutes...Greenwood will cut in from the wing and find the near corner...or perhaps the keeper will save it.

Some will say Ole is an incompetent and not fit to manage United. Others will say he needs time.

The Glazers and Woodward will be universally called out as cnuts.

    On to Arsenal away!!

In all seriousness I hope we can build on a decent performance Boxing Day. I'm hoping we bring an intensity and a cutting edge we have lacked so severely in games like this.

Martial and Rashford should be full of confidence and Pogba starting should surely get us moving the ball.

After AWB showed he has the ability to beat someone and stick a ball in the right area, I'd be keen to see if that was a one off or it's something he can add to his game. A solid performance from our back 4 wouldn't go a miss!!

Failing that, I hope we get bang lucky like Southampton away under LVG! :)

    Come on United!

Surely we’re resting a few players ahead of Wednesday?

    De Gea
    Young Maguire Lindelöf Williams
    Fred Pogba
    James Lingard Rashford

Williams in the squad :) Hopefully not excluded from the 18, although I can see Young starting on the left and Williams starting from the bench.

James should play after sitting out the last game but at the same time I don't think we can leave Greenwood on the bench as he curruntly looks like he's going to score every game.

It might be risky and leave us vunerable defensively but I'd love to see us try a 4-4-2 in this game as I imagine Burnley will sit back and defend for much of the game anyway.

    -----------------------De Gea--------------------------

    AWB - Tuanzebe --- Lindelöf - Williams

    James --- Fred ------ Pogba --- Rashford

    ------------ Greenwood - Martial ---------------

These are the sort of games that we have a tendency to struggle in. Away to a team that loves to park the bus and allow their opponent to dominate possession.

    Starting XI

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Shaw

    Garner
    Fred

    James
    Pogba
    Rashford

    Martial

    subs:
    Romero
    Young
    Tuanzebe
    Pereira
    Mata
    Lingard
    Greenwood

Agreed, with Mason getting 90 mins 2 days ago, feel James will get a run out this time. Same for Shaw, not long back, played 90mins, so can see Young or Williams starting. Hoping for the later.

Any news on AWB? Didn't look too comfortable the other night, towards the end.

Already forgot a few weeks in the line-up game, so just going for a bit of a risk here. Think Fred might drop to the bench in preparation for the Arsenal game. Maybe one of the full backs too (Wan-Bissaka will miss Arsenal if he gets booked):

    de Gea
    Young Lindelof Maguire Williams
    Pogba Matic
    James Lingard Rashford
    Martial
With the previous game being about 48 hours ago, it'd make sense to see something like this. Fullbacks cover a lot of ground, so changing both makes sense, especially with AWB one caution away from a suspension. Pogba didn't start a game yet, so now is the chance for him to play 60+ minutes. Matic and James are fresh, while Martial and Rashford went off early. Lingard only came on as a sub too. Basically, we can still field a relatively strong side while having fresher players in all the areas that require the most running.

Good shout out with AWB. Would prefer Andreas sat in behind Martial, bug agree other than that.

I'm not looking forward to either this or the Arsenal match. There are too many unknowns and too many non-football factors at play.

If this match were any other week, I'd be confident of a United win. But with the fixture congestion, I honestly have no idea what kind of team will show up. I'm not expecting fluid football. Can Martial and Rashford maintain their stamina for counter attacking sprints in 4 games over 10 days? I doubt it.

Interested to see what changes Ole makes, I feel like Young, Jones, Williams, Pereira and probably James will come in. It'll be nteresting to see if Matic plays and we rest Fred.
