Too many long balls aimlessly humped up the pitch. The only players who have any space or time are the centre backs. When the ball does get up to Rooney and Van Persie they're surrounded by defenders with no options. The 'wing backs' might as well be full backs they're that far away from the play.

RVP and Mata needs to step up their game they were both awful in the first half.
Di Maria will be a great addition he's been our best player in the first half.
The 3 at the back needs to keep the ball on the ground they only hit a couple of passes among each other before one of them hoofs it.

Evans, Blackett, Fletcher and Young are huge weak links in this team

RVP looks slow and Mata is choosing the wrong options, 3-5-2 just exposes these players even more - a change is needed

we're poor. too many players are too slow and ponderous on the ball. a few players (young, valencia, fletcher) simply aren't good enough.

but this ref is a joke as well. he's blowing for some terrible things. then he gives fletcher a yellow after allowing jones to kick di maria twice, then rugby tackle him earlier.
0-0 at the half is a moral victor for Burnley. The can come out 2nd half with confidence that they can at least match what they did in the 1st and possibly sneek a winner

This team will need atleast 2 more transfer windows to be pretty good again with good backup players.

Di Maria has confidence. The rest of the team don't. That's also problem. Unfortunately, Di Maria's confidence will be shot to pieces in a few weeks if this carries on too.

It's hard to find any positives bar a couple of moments from Di Maria and solid mopping up from Jones in that half. We still don't have a functioning midfield with a powerful CM who bosses the game and competes, and up front Rooney and RvP are just too similar to work as a partnership.

We basically have Adnan Welbeck and Hernandez on the bench as the only players who can change a game. I'd put Welbeck on for RvP. Better link up play with the team.

Evans and Fletcher are shit blackett needs to stop hoofing. How can our players be so pathetic that they are not even getting basics like passing the ball right. I mean Mata, young and Fletcher have all tripped over the ball under no fecking pressure at all.
Fletcher has been by far the worst player on the team, normally there's 3/4 you could have in that category, when he goes down he takes ages to get back on his feet when he should be back on them in a second.

looking pretty stale so far. This system seems to completely kill any threat from the wings, as Young and Valencia seem locked to the touchline, but are never in the attacking third or the defending third. Meaning when they get the ball all they do is immediately pass back inside.

Di Maria's looked ok in places, but struggling to get much of the ball.

Rooney and VP barely touching it.

    Better improve...

Trying to shoehorn both RvP and Rooney into this team feels a bit like the old England issue of trying to play both Lampard and Gerrard.

Sometimes your best players doesn't make the best team.
Add Mata to that list then you've got a point. Having two of the three would be fine but all three ends up with us having to compromise other parts of the team, and it's not like we are seeing any benefits of having all three on the pitch at all.

The back three formation HAS to go. RvP-Rooney-Mata in the same team doesn't work. Fletcher & Evans awful.

Di Maria easily the best United player.

If RvP had actually scored off that ball from Di Maria, we would all be singing a different tune.... crazy how things turn so easily.

    Er...sorry...near Southampton.
When we keep it on the deck, despite their great work rate, we look like we can create something. The tiresome lack of confidence is draining when it comes to decision-making - ho hum. This really isn't our first team but we need to show some of our Premiership nouse here to break down a hard-grafting, efficient unit.

The areas needed to be on top shape in 3.5.2 (wing back and midfield) are the culprits of it's downfall.

Herrera, Di Maria and Blind in the midfield will be such an improvement on this team it'll probably destroy us as Caftards seing a functioning midfield
Not to mention shaw on the left.

I wonder if LVG will consider changing it at half time. No point having two forwards when neither are getting involved and both look off the pace.

oh God fletcher … what the big F is he doing there?

young? valencia? oh God … why can't we switch to 4-3-3 :(

the long ball LVG talked about during press conf was apparently HIS tactic lol

damn please for the love of God please change to 433 we will never score like this :(

might as well pass among the defenders the whole fecking game.

that useless old hag fletcher always passed it backward every single time …

oh God … yet people complain about daley blind ...

We're playing exactly as we did in the first two games. The only difference is Di Maria, who stands out like a sore thumb from this lot.

I wasn't expecting the team to play like world beaters...but this could easily end 1:0 or 0:1

United need a few scrappy results, please let it happen today!

    No it won't.

We have 10 players to come in to the side.

Rojo, Shaw, Rafael, Carrick, Blind, Herrera, Januzaj, Smalling to come into the side and improve it.

    RVP is woeful.

The less said about Valencia & Young the better.
Owen giving Mata shit for not passing it to Valencia... well, why would he? so he can dart off down the ring and lash a crossshot into nowhere. Pfft.

Is that two consecutive games now in which Fletcher has tripped on the ball with no pressure on him. Comedy.
