If we insist on 3-5-2 can we not bring bring in Welbeck for Mata and play Rooney closer to midfield where he is infinitely better than Mata ?

I'd take rvp off he looks properly off the pace.

We need to get the ball into their box faster otherwise I can't see us winning.

I said it before and I say that again, Fletcher, Evans, Cleverley and Young need to go, now ! If nobody wants them, then just release them .

The 352 is fine if players play it quick and on the floor. This lumping in the air shit is the problem.
No it's not, our attacking options are too limited and isolated, which cause us to pass it around the defence and just hoof it upwards and hope for the best.. And when our attackers get the ball they're outnumbered so they panic and just lose the ball again, it's not working full stop.

I remember only one successful pass from Rooney to RvP in the half an none from RvP to Rooney.

Bring on Welbeck for one of RVP or Rooney. He and Di Maria have the pace to cause them problems.

Herrera, Di Maria and Blind in the midfield will be such an improvement on this team it'll probably destroy us as Caftards seing a functioning midfield

Di Maria looks a class above. Created our best 2 chances. I thought Rooney was pretty good with what he had to work with. He held the ball up well and got a few flick ons. Mata is invisible at the moment and our defenders are so slow on the ball. Young takes 10 touches then passes it backwards.

Drop one of Rooney/RVP and Fletcher and switch formations.

You know it's not the same United when I'm glad we're not down at half time rather than disappointed we haven't scored.

Trying to shoehorn both RvP and Rooney into this team feels a bit like the old England issue of trying to play both Lampard and Gerrard.

Sometimes your best players doesn't make the best team.
I actually feel teh play between them hasn't been that bad, it's just that no one wants to shoot. I think the bigger issue is Mata who hasn't been good at all, he doesn't seem settled at all.

Fletcher have been horrible. We need Carrick, Herrera and Blind like FAST!!!!!!!

Blackett have done some biggeners mistakes. Hopefully he can shake it off because Burnley have looks dangerous several times. Evans also with some mistakes. Jones is the only one who have had a decent game in the backline.

Don't agree with those criticising Rooney. He's having to track back to see any of the ball and he hasn't done much wrong in those positions at all. In fact, he's making some good runs from deep and playing nice one-twos with RVP, but most of the one-twos aren't accurate (mostly down to RVP's passing). Unfair imo. Di Maria having a great debut though. De Gea and Jones the other top performers for us.

Mata gets all the stick on here, pretty hard for any number 10 to do well in a team full of static players.
He does contribute to things being static, too many times ADM asked for the ball and he took too long to pass it to him. Just like Rooney, our players love to keep the ball on their feet but they do feck all with it.
    Mata has been massively disappointing.

Decent little period at the end of the half were we played with some urgency. Di Maria, has had some good moments and looks to be settling fairly quickly which is good.

Though over all Burnley have probably had the best chances. For some reason we just can't get the final shot off, and end up falling over or messing up a simple final pass each time we have got into a decent position.

Welbeck should be playing Januzaj should be playing. not young. Van Gaals ego is coming in the way of logical thinking.

We need a wing-back who can beat his man, and cross a ball/ And, please don't sell welbeck, we need energy in this team, we need him.

Only Di Maria had an OK first half. The rest was shite. Rooney - was he even on the field? RvP had one shot, else I didn't see him. Mata, slippery out there? And how bout chasing every ball? Chicharito would have smelled that going over the defender. As for Evans - he's our Kolo Touré. Giving away chances every fecken game now.

Its just really odd when we play it on the ground we can look good at times but we just keep hoofing it for absolutely no reason. Its like we are out to prove a point. There are options there for the simple pass.

With a back 3 you need your CBs to be comfortable on the ball, none of them are and so they keep reverting to long balls which just isn't working.

On a positive note, Di Maria looks quite good.

We should be 2-0 up. Di Maria's passing and creativity is phenomenal. Jones looks more and more beastly in every game. Fletcher should retire, right now, at half time. We need rafa and shaw back ASAP, young and Valencia are clowns. Rvp should be on the bench fighting for a position with welbeck
