I understand and generaly agree, I just don't feel facing Crystal Palace is the same than Chelsea with Hazard. One curious thing was Mourinho guaranteeing in the press conference after the game that “McTominay can also shoot”, like, he has other facets to his game. If that starts showing, then we have a player, even for these supposedly easier games where we should have more of possession.
As I said even if we start him and we struggle to score, we can always sub him off.

Let's see but I think Mourinho will keep giving him playtime at the moment.

Palace aren't great but they are fighting to stay up and at home under the floodlights I could see them being resilient.

I think Shaw and Mata will come in, and in truth Sanchez doesn't really merit a start but I think he'll get the nod ahead of Lingard.

Hopefully the second-half performance against Chelsea can be the start of some positive momentum going into the final 10. Let's hit the ground running here.

Palace are having injury crisis. Physioroom shows 13 players injured for them although few of them may be back against us. Whatever it is, very crucial to win this match given Liverpool and Spurs have easy home fixtures next weekend. Who knows, Chelsea may get something at Etihad too as City play Arsenal away in league on Thursday night.

Better for City to win against Chelsea. City position is secure, while Chelsea losing and us winning will put us 9 points ahead of them (who will be 5th position then). Pretty much top 4 secured for us then, so we can concentrate on cementing second spot against Liverpool.

Yeah Chelsea losing or drawing is better for us, City are out of sight. What I meant was, with City playing one extra game before they face Chelsea, that too just 3 days before, Chelsea being more fresh can get something at Etihad. Not impossible. So we need to absolutely get win at Palace. If we increase on 6 points that weekend, awesome. At least need to make sure we do our part.

Got your point. Let's see if Arsenal will put similar disgraceful performance as they did yesterday against City again or not, as they can make the job for City too easy so they still be able to turn full gear against Chelsea. City hardly broke a sweat yesterday and that was a cup final.

Yup, Arsenal were awful. A performance like that again and City will have another stroll in the park.

A real chance to push the points advantage over Chelsea here, while they face another tough away v City. If we can win and take the points advantage to 8 or 9, we have a cushion for tough remaining games v Liverpool and City

They have a lot of players missing.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah ineligible to play. Connor Wickham, Jason Puncheon, Scott Dann, Jeffrey Schlupp, Bakary Sako, Julián Speroni and Mamadou Sakho ruled out. Wilfried Zaha, James Ward and Yohan Cabaye doubtful.

We have to go at them from the off, they have so many injuries... I'm not sure we need McTominay in a 433 here:

    de Gea
    Valencia Lindelof Smalling Shaw
    Matic Pogba
    Lingard Sanchez Rashford
    Lukaku

Lots of ifs and buts; but if we win this we'll likely be 9 points clear of 5th placed Chelsea (who I imagine will lose to City away), easing the pressure slightly for Liverpool at home the week after.
They seem to be missing the majority of the starting XI and TFM will be ineligible.
We really should be winning this. Spurs battered them at the weekend, they just couldn't nick a goal until the last minute.

4-3-3 and give Pogba as much license to join the attack as possible with Matic and McTominay holding CM together.

Alexis and Martial to start either side of Lukaku. Same back four as last game with the exception of Shaw at LB. Bailly and Lingard as good options off the bench.

Should play the same shape as against Chelsea. We might not need McTominay for this one but Matic shouldn't be doing more work than is necessary and Pogba should be given every opportunity to continue getting back into form.

But definitely start Lingard over Sanchez (you can call it rotation although honestly Sanchez needs to play himself into contention anyway) and possibly Rashford over Martial.

And for christs sake, ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK.

Might see same team but Carrick in, he's been rested. Possibly Shaw for Young and Rashford for Martial.

We are going to smash Palace 6-0 and Smalldini will score a hat-trick. It's the kind of positivism we want to see on this forum, right? :)

Why?? He's been one of our better players and is having to 'dumb down' to get to the current level of this United team rather than them matching his intensity and raising their game. He needs to start.

What you are writing here isn't 100% accurate if Woy is to be believed. According to him only 3 injured players had a realistic chance of playing against United. Tomkins who got injured against Spurs - would probably play. Martin Kelly should start training this week and would probably play and maybe Mamadou Sakho. Zaha, Ward and Cabaye was not mentioned as having a chance according to Hodgson. You also forgot Loftus-Cheek as injured.

But I saw them against Spurs - and they were lucky they didn't lose 5-0. We can call it difficult, banana-peel but we are playing a team at the bottom who barely can field 11 players because of injuries.

No excuses against a depleted Palace:

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Lindelof Young
    Matic
    McTominay Pogba
    Sanchez Lukaku Martial

Good performance and plenty of goals would be nice, a boring load of shite and a scrappy 1-0 win will do.

    So fecking what???
So you’re saying he’s having to “dumb down” to Uniteds standards when he’s been playing for Arsenal who are clearly having a poorer season than we are and playing with the likes of Pogba, lukaku, Martial, Matic, De Gea is worse than lacazette, Ramsey, Ozil, Bellerin, Xhaka. Doesn’t really add up for me but you crack on.
