If we win with a rotated side....then great. If we get knocked out I won't lose a winks sleep worrying about it.

The league Cup isn't going to keep Ole in a job. If we don't get CL football he will go.

Just want to come in here and say don't care if we win or lose. League is where we should go all in. Shouldn't let these type of "possible chance of trophies" distract us from the bigger picture.

We now have a 'second' team good enough to beat Everton, let's just go with that.

Full squad rotation please, given the seasons circumstances, don't really care about this game. Just protect the players.

Edit. Thread says premier League, I haven't got this mixed up have I?

No, it's a mistake in the OP. It's the Carabao quarters.

Full subs, lets go full strenght for the league. After all its just the Carabao cup. Not really much value in it.

Can someone explain how we're the last game of the EFL QF round but the first game up on the boxing day schedule? Oh and we're away in both.

Wouldn't mind avoiding the extra 3 games winning this would possibly entail. Besides League Cup may as well be renamed the Man City Trophy Padder Cup

Our only objective should be to build on the momentum of today's epic win. If we can go another 5 wins in a row in the league on the back of today, we have a real shot at the top. Let's not bother ourselves with these EFL and suchlike diversions. Eye on the league. Play every league game like a cup final. A team full of kids for this please. Don't bother about the outcome.

You think teams just want revenge every time they lose a game? Youl have to try harder than that. Might as well lock him up and not field him for most our fixtures:lol:

It's a 3-1 boring defeat at OT, it wasn't some feisty Derby that royally pissed either side or manager off.
We beat them at Goodison Park. I wouldn’t be happy if I were Everton...

Are we going to drop this cup game? Hope not. We're United for god sake.

    Definitely need high rotation though.
    Dean
    TFM** -- Axel* -- Maguire -- Telles
    Matic -- Pogba
Greenwood -- van de Beek -- James
    Cavani

    *Bailly if Tuanzebe is injured.
**Or Williams, if TFM is injured. Both are not in the squad v Leeds at all is interesting. Not surprising if AWB again.
That should be strong enough to beat Everton, who I'm sure will also rest some of their best players.
Bring Bruno, Rash and Martial in the 2nd half if we have to.
We're really pushing the fitness/fatigue limit of Maguire ain't we. I'm aware we have to. Thankfully he's damn naturally fit.

Everton playing high defense line right? If so, that'll suit James again.

Everton can play very defensive and low. They play Sheffield on the WE so they might feel more willing to put a good team here.

Absolutely need to rotate the first XI before Leicester on Saturday and Wolves 3 days after. Then we will have a week to rest, so need to rest a lot of players, and to be honest except the central defense, the rest of the team is able to beat Everton.

Yea, pretty much this. It's actually a good second string team. I think I'd probably rest Maguire too otherwise he doesn't get a break until Watford in the FA cup. Bailly or Lindelof to partner Axel just depending who is fit.

Everton play Sheff Utd on Boxing day, City on the 28th and West Ham on new years day so I imagine will also play their second team. So should still be enough to see us through.

Anyway Pellistri won't be risked. End of debate

Anyone playing against Leicester shouldn't play, end of. Assume same team as yesterday will play against Leicester so if McT is injured then whoever coming in for him shouldn't play against Everton. I would rest Maguire as well but can't see Ole doing it.

This but with VDB and Pogba swapped roles and maybe Mata for James.

Seeing a lot of people putting James in their teams, but I think he should start from the bench. I want us to go for the trophy, and if Bruno won't start which is what will likely happen, then one of Rashford and Martial should start imo.

We need one player who we could rely on and play through in that front four. An attacking midfield of James, Van de Beek and Greenwood won't be able to do much.

Everton will rotate heavily too, battle of the benches.

 They aren't fired up for revenge to the extent that it prevents United starting a highly rated youngster they paid good money for, who is likely to make a handful of first team appearances this season. I'm not saying they won't want to beat us, but to cite "revenge" as a reason is half baked.

It's not though is it, because we don't have team news and it's not a ridiculous suggestion to think he might feature. MEN reckon he may well feature and this cup was cited as an opportunity to play him before he even featured for reserves (where he's done well). He's training with the first team squad for a reason, it's to build chemistry and get him sped up with making some form of an impact in the smaller cups for us.

If that wasn't the case, he would be training with reserves and fully integrated just with the reserves.

Telles and Cavani has made so much difference to our squad. Having two of them alone means that we'd still look strong on paper even with upto ten changes to our regular starting XI. We missed a trick by not signing a deep midfielder in the summer.

    Agree.
Prefer we rest Maguire too, but I'm not confident Ole will do that.

 Looking forward to this game. Maybe once we wrap the game up early, Pellistri can get some minutes? Also more importantly, it's time we win a trophy for this exciting team, any trophies will do.

Torn between wanting to keep momentum up and wanting to rotate a lot due to tight schedule. I imagine we will rotate half of the team but don’t mind if we lose this one. There’s a real chance for a European spot this year through the league and I hope we concentrate on that. We don’t quite have the squad this season to stretch to all comps but hopefully in the summer with a few more additions we will have that.

He won't. Our other fringe player need minutes. If we had drawn Brentford or Stoke, he probably would have got some game time but Everton are in buoyed up at present.

I would probably have rested Maguire as well but I’m not sure we have another fit CB and Lindelof has back issues to manage so he has to rest.
