*here not hear, try to at least spell the main point of your post right

I don’t hate the entity that is Manchester United. I hate this very specific iteration of the team, a team of selfish owners, a striker who doesn’t want to be here, a front office that can’t get signings done, and a line-up that doesn’t feature more than one or two likeable players.

Side note: you don’t get to dictate what anyone deserves. We’ve been sitting through garbage for a decade now, and people are allowed to be frustrated without you telling people what they eeserve
pulling me up and a spelling mistake FFS is that all the come back you have !!
Has for the side note, my comment still stands and I wont even mention your spelling mistake

Players can speak about positive changes and feeling much fitter all they like.

At the end of the day, when it mattered, they couldn't deliver. Same old shite

The loss is on ETH. Our formation and tactics were awful prior to subs. Also making 3 final subs around 90th minute is far too late, when you are behind for such a long time. This squad and the manager are good enough to have won this game. Hopefully, the gaffer learns quickly.

Would walk into our midfield. Annoying to see yet another one slip through the net, looks like he can more than cover the loss of bissouma.
100%. Other clubs are run well though.

Something I really hope will be the case with this club one day.

Was hoping for a better start but we definitely need to strengthen our squad if we want top 4.

1st half was attroicios, ETH new that , Fred off Eriksen further back was better , controlled the 2nd half in the main, Martinez its a wake up call for him , and Martial who's been on it to be fair in preseason out Injured. Brighton deserved there win from there 1st half . Well it can't get any worse. ABUs loving the result . They won't take much notice of how different the 2 halfs were.

He made the wrong subs at the wrong time, maybe he was sending a message to the board to say this squad is not even mid table at best however there are so many issues with this squad which we as fans swept under the carpet, De Gea can not play sweeper keeper, Maguire can play. But only in a back 3 we should have gone 343 and matched then up. We seriously need two midfield players, we chased caceido and let him go to Brighton, there just so much wrong with our club top to bottom
But ETH must learn fast who he won’t survive.

We actually do quite well in the season when we lose or draw our opener, if you believe in traditions. In hindsight, a loss will be better for ETH as he has a better grasp of the situation.
That’s the positivity I need after watching that dross :keano:

Should convince anybody on the board who thought that we don’t need a striker to put up the money too. Long term gain is the hope.

Silly decision from him to put or most creative player up top to be fair.
He really could have worked it out very quickly that their wing backs were so high because we played a false 9 with no physical presence and Dunk just strolled round the pitch. If we had gone 343 after half time I think we would have had more joy, Rashford moved centrally Ganaucho left snd Sancho right with Varane brought on to push Dalot and Shaw higher to influence. He has to learn in the PL most teams are tactically fluid and have 3 or 4 formations through the game, feel sorry for him with what the board have given him but he needs to react quicker especially at old Trafford where this is a demand to win at all costs. He must learn and quick yes Martinez looked good but I think right now he can step into CDM until we get someone, looks like he can play there easily.

Would it have been different if Bruno had scored in the first half? Probably not cos Brighton were better in all areas. SKY just loved it that we lost especially Carragher. We are not talented enough to play out from the back or the counter a high press. Was Sancho playing? Ronny looked knackered and disinterested. Poor day.

Came here to say this about the subs. fecking taking the piss that was. If they’d had 15 minutes they could have made an impact but not like that.

I don’t understand where the team I watched in pre season has gone. All pre season we looked aggressive and up for it, pressing and fighting for the ball. Where the feck was that today?

the only positives To maybe take from it would be hopefully it spurs some new signings before the window shuts. We need a midfielder and a striker absolute minimum.

Scott McT just isn’t at the level we need.

Ffs. Imagine what the Liverpool game will be like lads…

Simple reality right now is look at City’s bench Stones, Philips, B Silva, Mahrez, Alvarez, Moreno and Ortega most of these would be in our starting 11 and La Porta not even in the squad we’ve spunked money for a decade so we need to give ETH realistic targets, this year 6-8th is realistic with our whole effort focused on wining Europa league but let’s be clear here Feillani, Smalling, Valencia and Herrera would walk into this current team. We need emergency signings and we need them now, back up keeper, RB, CDM, BTB, CFW, RW; Ralph was many thing but let’s be honest he wasn’t wrong when he said United need 10 players?

I really don’t get the positive predictions for this match. Yes it is better, healthier etc to be positive but seriously what at all made you think we’d win this and comfortably? We have been one of the worst teams in the country since 2022 and have only won about 30% of the games we have played.

Disappointed today. I expected to see some sort of style to our play today but they were atrocious in that first half.

It didn't work with Eriksen as false 9 as people have said. We looked better in the second half. The most galling thing for me was how little we play the ball through the middle. McTominay was atrocious. His positional sense makes it impossible to pass the ball to him and he made so many little mistakes today. To be fair, when he did find space we didn't pass to him which tells you a lot about how trusted he is on the ball.

I was sick of Dalot in the first half just hitting the ball back to Maguire. We were very stodgy and cumbersome going forward. Was very frustrating seeing Brighton passing the ball in small triangles in our final third whilst we just chased them like dogs around meat.

The second half was better as we looked more of a threat but still didn't pose enough of a goal-scoring threat. Substitutes were're bizarre as well.

I did think Maguire and Eriksen deeper played well. Certainly food for thought for Ten Hag.

That team is here but the opponent this time around was a capable one. Potter has been doing a decent job, and I am not sure we have the better manager. Let's hope that ETH is indeed a top manager.

    We’ll now we know, ETH needs to change his team to the following next week;

D De Gea, Dalot Varane, Maguire, Malacia,
Martinez at CDM, DVB, Ericsson, Sancho, Ronaldo, Garnaucho -
Subs Rashford, Martial, Heaton, Garner, Shaw, Zidane, Lindelof, Fred, Bruno

Mctominay needs to be transfer liisted asap and the others like Fred, Bruno, Rashford, Shaw need to work for their first team position because we need sone serious work in last month of transfer window

Calm down guys. At least with this game ETH knows the changes he needs to make. Its his first game managing in the EPL and it is good we came against Brighton who are a match for any team.

We did well with the second half but it looks like Sancho and Rashford need to improve on their attacking positioning. I can see the defenders continuing their start but for the rest of the midfield and attack, we are going to see changes.
I agree to an extent but a so called Elite club expecting to play 50/60 games in a season should have options throughout the squad,,Martial Injured , Rashford and Sancho struggling we need options and fast, ETH brought Garnaucho on 91 minutes, why we have currently 4 options in attacking positions for 6 places, Ronaldo will be off and we need a left footed right winger and we need a number 9 then we can rotate and make substitutes that can change a game, there is a reason why 5 subs is a new rule it’s to stop burn out and use the squad in a better way, we also need to promote Zidane and Janes Garner to more games time and sell either Fred or Mctominay one has to go in this window and we need two midfield players one CDM. And one BTB to replace either Fred or Mctominay. ETH has a lot of work to do and he needs to be more flexible in his team formations, some games in the PL he will have to play 3412 or 3421 or 343 and if anyone thinks Varane shouldn’t be in the team after that they need to check themselves and Martinez may need to play CDM for the next few games just so we can get Mctominay and Fred out of the team

Really disappointing, but if Bruno puts that easy chance away early on, the game is completely different.

Was very worried about Martinez, he was all over the place. He seemed to improve in the last quarter of the game but it's clear that he's goinv to need time to settle into the pace of this league.

Eriksen when deeper and on the ball was at least a slight positive. He's a far better player than many have given him credit for.

Welcome to the premier league Erik

    same players
    same problems

I don’t know how many more times I can watch that team amble around the pitch looking half arsed the second they’re up against ANY form of opposition that actually puts a shift in

I've just got back from the game, and honestly I've never felt so depressed. They should give the fans their money back, that wasn't a 2-1 defeat, that was a startling reality check of how horribly wrong we have got recruitment and we're left with a squad of players who are just not good enough.

I said in pre season vs atletico that we needed at least 6 new starting players, and got told i was overreacting. I think some fans are just used to mediocrity and forgot what it takes at this level.

Special mention to Eriksen who was absolutely garbage today - worst player on the pitch.

Its going to be a long season.

There's too much to in 3 weeks to get us to top 4 after watching that. Need 6 players pal, and not back up options like arnautovic either but top class ones. We will be lucky to get 2.
