qué ? I didn't put it on him. I just talked about his part. Learn to read. His cameo was a disaster, can't wait for him to leave this club.
Took part in losing the ball in ET which led to Croatia equalizing at the death and the rest is history

Ah it read like you were... you just don't like him then and will try and pinpoint any small thing to justify your point of view, cool.

As there was nothing on Fred with that goal.

It read it like that because you jumped the gun. It's ok, you can admit your mistake. I didn't put it on him. About me not liking him, it's just football. I don't rate him, it's not personal. You are free to disagree with his part in that but you can't say I blamed him for the whole thing

Don't think I did Jump the gun, You responded to someone mentioning hoping to see Fred 'strut his stuff', to which you responded with a thinly veiled dig at Fred being at fault for the Croatia goal (clue: he wasn't).

It's fine mate, I know it's free reign to produce absolute bile on here to the players, just the mental gymnastics to do so is bizarre.

    But as you were.

This is where you aren't listening to me, I said he played a part, that's all. You're blowing it way out of proportion. You can disagree and I'm fine it but you can't say I said something I didn't.

But you singled out Fred. No other player. Just Fred. So it's clear what the insinuation here is.

the whole team was at fault! The ball was won deep in Croatia's half.

I don't understand the reasoning of singling out one player, (albeit one you obviously don't like, which probably answers my own question I guess!) When it clearly was a culmination of poor tactical play and poor game management by the whole team.

Hope we will take this seriously. Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs already out and one of City or Liverpool will be joining them by the quarter finals. The draw is opening up quite nicely if we manage to get through.

Same, I'd rather see a youngster play.
You do realise my post was tongue in cheek...don't you?

I talked about Fred because he is our player and he was the subject of the quote I posted. Nothing that more complicated, just because I didn't mention the other players doesn't mean I am blaming him solely. Again, you read something and ran away with it. It ain't that deep

Banana skin all over it assuming Burnley dont take the opportunity themselves to rest a few.

    Pens I reckon.

I'm seeing a lot of suggestions saying Van de Beek to start. Really? The guy has been utter gash pretty much everytime he's started. Surely one of the younger lads like Iqbal or Savage warrant starting over him at this point. I'd fully expect us to be trying to ship VdB out in January anyway.
Bruno has to start. In the last 40 days he has only played 4 competitive matches plus 45 mins in a pre-WC friendly. In a normal season he would've easily played 8-9 full games in a similar timeframe.

It should really be full strength minus the CBs. Drill patterns and build chemistry now rather than waiting until the Forest game. We can't afford yet another slow start once the league returns.

I think Ten Hag will go full strength since the next game is on 28th (a week away), only Licha & Varane are unavailable.

Looking forward to tonight. But got a horrible feeling that after 15 minutes it'll be doom doom doom again as Donny/Fred/McT get over run in midfield.

Any player back in training and worth their wages will want to play tonight to get that World Cup failure stink off them.

I like him as a central defender. And think he will be back-up the next few weeks, as we are limited in that area at the moment, until Martinez and Varane get back from their holidays after the World Cup.
We just have Maguire and Lindelöf at the moment, which might be fragile in a packed schedule.
I believe Casemiro has done okay at CB when Madrid had injury crises, unless my memory is tricking me, but I'd rather see an academy CB out there and Casemiro at DM than Casemiro at CB and McTominay at DM.

Those eliminated after the first round should be available as should the Round of 16. Even the QF were 10 days ago. There should be no excuse for not having those players available. Only Martinez and Varane should be a no-go.
Agree. And Martinez didn’t play the final plus only some minutes in the semi, so he has probably played less than those on United training camp the last 10 days. For him it is more to give time to celebrate and refresh mentally.

Hope to see some Garnacho tonight. Would like to see Rashford continue his form also - barely got played at the WC.

I think/hope they might given they don't play till Tuesday again and by that time Sheffield Utd could be level on points with them at the top. I think we need to play the strongest as we need silverware soon and not just to appease fans but to give that winning feeling to the players.

There's something about this fixture that makes me worried.
Me too. Vincent Kompany has done well at Burnley and they are flying at the top of the Championship. As someone said earlier, potential banana skin.

I think we'll be fine but our record at home to Burnley is shite.

Not a single win in 4 games between 2016-2020.

But we did beat them twice 3-1 in 2021 and have only lost at home to them once in 60 years...
