Quietly confident going into this match. I reckon we'll win 1-0.
It is going to be highly tactical with neither manager wanting to lose, so there won't be any gung-ho football on show today.
    I do expect a 1-0 win.

The gap between midfield and attack is key. If we can find the perfect gap as to isolate our best players, we may be able to secure a hard fought draw.

So. Hoof ball and surrender initiative and momentum again?
Quite possibly. Although missing Herrera and the ability to do a man-marking job on Hazard complicates things a bit. I suspect that someone will be assigned to keep tabs on Fabregas and since Fabregas operates deeper, we'll be forced to push our lines a bit higher in order to retain a sense of coherence. I don't know if Mourinho will do it but we'll be fecked if we don't. It wouldn't be the first time but one can hope, right?

I expect him to be gone within 12 months.

I think he has become like Wenger. The game has passed him by and he has refused to evolve.

That is painful to watch as a massive Jose fan.
He won the league two seasons ago...

    Beat them last season.

Didn't exactly turn things around in the league.
I almost always live by the "next game is our game" and "next game is the start of our dynasty." mantras.

    Losing to Comeback Winning!
Too much negativity in here and it makes me wonder why some of you even bother following MUFC or football.

For the record I am very happy with how we are doing. After 3-4 years of being poor, we are finally ready to finish in the top 2 and back in the CL (past group stages). We have a great manager in charge, who is putting together a young squad which will do very very well in years to come. After winning 2 trophies last season, I can see Jose winning us plenty more trophies in the next 5-10 years and it's going to be glorious.

If something makes you so unhappy or depressed, for your own health it's best to stop doing it...and that includes watching MUFC.
For example, when we lose or play badly, I will avoid reading the newspapers, internet articles or watching Match of the Day (on TV). When we win, I will read many articles and maybe watch MOTD, as it makes me happy.

:D Dr sunama or guru of happiness?

Yeah, it's a bit weird, as if many vocal posters have zero patient and couldn't find even an ounce of positivity, to enjoy this season. I enjoyed it, even if the football is on-and-off, or hit-and-miss - one game is exciting, then the other is horrible to watch yet there are good promises within those bad games. It's not perfect, but better than last season, and there are clear improvements if we look very carefully to the tee. I like our squad, it's perhaps the most exciting youthful squad with enough experiences since around the last time of Ronaldo and Rooney combining with the likes of Scholes, VDS, Vidic and Rio.

Think this will be a tight game.

Can see both teams being very cautious. My brain tells me goalscoring chances are going to be few and far between, however I'm optimisticly hoping for a good game.

I personally think it will end up 1 - 0 in favour of United.

This is a vital game in terms of securing top 4.

Hope pogba starts, he is the key.

The Sevilla game was a 2 leg game. It was the away leg.
Furthermore, that was a knock out competition.

Today's game is not a knockout.
    Today's game is at home.

Before the Sevilla game, I knew 0-0 is what we were aiming for, given that Sevilla are pretty much unbeatable at home.
CFC, on the other hand are not unbeatable at Old Trafford.

Fair enough, you are entitled to your opinion. However I'd appreciate you not telling me what I should be doing or how I should be feeling about football, Manchester United and my life. I'm old enough to make my own decisions so you don't need to "worry".

Think a draw is the most likely result but can see Chelsea doing just enough to win it

A must win. Jose will be rightfully called out if we slip down the table. His fans were saying that the second place is actually a good result, cause City win everything due to their money anyways. Now if we slip below second there will be no EL cup to show up for the fact that for two seasons in a row there are managers in the prem who can win more points than Jose with less resources.

Winning this game would virtually kill off Chelsea's chance of finishing ahead of us due to their fixture schedule and so make top 4 very likely. It will therefore finish in a draw or loss for United because that's how the team are at the moment.

You could say the same about Wenger around 06/07 to be honest.

It just takes longer for people to admit it.
And we win our game in hand and we are back to 2nd in the league. The season after we won two cups. It's a silly comparison really isn't it?

With Liverpool leapfrogging us into 2nd and top four looking like a legitimate concern, anything other than a win against a struggling Chelsea at Old Trafford will bring the pitchforks out.

a big difference for me...who came away from that win at Huddersfield feeling good....it was awful and our last few weeks have been dominated by issues with Mourinho and players.... not a great atmosphere at all
Most od those issues have been overblown by the media.

An article on the official website.

"Why United have the edge over Chelsea" The article talks about the players we have versus Chelsea. If we had Messi in our team, there still would be no guarantee of a win with Jose's management. Jose has ruined my fun of looking forward to big matches. Hope against hope United turn up today with Martial on the left and Sanchez on the right with Lukaku in good form to get United a big win against Chelsea and stay in contention for the top four.

I am never confident of any game Martin Atkinson is refereeing, especially when it's against Chelsea. We'll be up against it today.

They formed a narrative and just keep running with it. Looked like Pogba was not 100% and that's why he was on the bench. Even after coming on, he looked sluggish for most of the game. Hope he starts him today and ends this stupid narrative.

I'd love to see a strong start from us with real intent from the off, too often we seem to start on the back foot and give the opposition confidence and momentum, let's put down a marker early.
