I expect something like this. Basti might not be fully fit to start, but I think Januzaj will be rested, and possibly Memphis for Ander too.
Why rest Januzaj when he badly needs more playtime? And do you really think Mata deserves to start after the awful performance yesterday? Would rather bench him...

He created our only 2 chances....

@sewey89 Yea he did, but what did he do other than that? Lots of ball losses and a really bad performance. I known he wasn't the only one playing bad, but still.

You think Januzaj played better than Mata?

I don't think Schweinsteiger is fit enough to start.

Didn't play any worse at least...and this is his first game in a long long time.
You not only need a talent but experience as well in such crucial ties. Mata was the only player who created chances for us the last game and you would drop him even though you agree Januzaj was no better?

Got to think Fellaini will get a chance here against a Belgian side and build on some match rhythm that is lacking from his PL suspension.

The midfield was a lot better in the 2nd half yesterday. I don't think a No10 is needed with Memphis and Januzaj as they like to cut inside anyway.

Rooney was awful yesterday, I think with Hernandez movement off the ball we would have a lot more chances for a through ball and with the vision out team has that would lead to a lot of chances for chicha, which I would trust him to put away.

The defence despite criticism has been solid and having a centre back get MOM in the last 2 games has proved that they can be a solid partnership. For me De Gea should be left out until after the window closes. He's done nothing to show he wants to fight for his place so Romero gets the nod.

Being a two legged fixture, I think we need a couple of goals at least. Problem is I can't see where they are coming from. I'd go with
    Romero

    Darmian
    Smalling
    Blind
    Shaw

    Schweinsteiger
    Schneiderlin
    Herrera

    Mata
    Mamphis
    Januzaj.

Bastian in for Carrick and Herrera in for Rooney, with Adnan up front.

It's more what I think he'll do, rather than what I want. I agree about Mata, it was a very so-so performance, but Memphis was just as bad.

it's still very early in the season, so no real need for any resting or rotation.

Would just consider Fellaini, as otherwise he'll be looking at his first game v Swansea at the end of August, then has a 2 week international break

Why do so many think Fellaini will start? Just because he is available? He didn't feature in preseason at all, like everyone else he will need time to get his place and will not start all of a sudden imo. Will probably sit on the bench and get some minutes as sub.

I think we will stick with out team, Schweini could start if fit enough and that's what I hope and I think Januzaj will be on the bench, would like to see Ander start, but I guess Young will return to our 11.

Most of the starting 11 could be playing their first CL game for us. That sounds so wrong.

That midfield 3 should be the midfield always.

I agree about Hernandez too. His movement would create space for Memphis, Herrera and Januzaj to run riot in.

Think people are underestimating this tie. Don't see Van Gaal resting as many as you guys think. He'll be desperate for us not to mess this up which means to treat it like any other CL match. Reckon it will be the same team we played against Villa, but with the experience of Valencia in for Darmian, Herrera in for Januzaj, and maybe Young in for Memphis perhaps.

Exactly, we have to win this game and win well. I wouldn't want to be going over their with just a one goal lead.
Yeah. Hopefully we can score a few in the first leg (not likely as we dont look like were going to score a lot at all) but if we do; perhaps Pereira can be included in the 2nd leg. I wouldn't risk it at all though.

I agree, but Brugge are injured crippled and will most likely start a back five - Michael Preud'homme has said he's going first and foremost for an away cleansheet than an away goal.

Me too but i dont think he will want to take any risks here.
I agree, we shouldn't underestimate Brugges, but if we're in a comfortable position I'd like to see Pereira involved. We should give him a serious chance this season as he's very talented and could offer our attacking play something different.

For sure! He's extremely talented but I can see him only being involved in domestic cup competitions unfortunately ie FA cup.

The only realistic chance i can see is Januzaj being omitted in favor of Young, so more or less the same lineup as the Spurs game.

Yeah, some appearances in the domestic cups is probably what he can hope for this season, especially with the more than likely signing of Pedro.

Hopefully he continues being patient and waits for his chance. That new contract was a positive sign for his determination to succeed here as he could have just as easily left on a free.

Yeah I always get worried when our talented youngsters aren't being given opportunities incase they leave but I hopefully they realise that they're at the best place for them. If they're genuinely good enough then they will get their chance. If they're better than their competition then they will keep their place. This is why I don't like to see players who are in form being dropped. It doesn't send out the right message imo.

Yes. Not counting on miracles: Duarte, Engels, Denswil, Meunier, Refaelov, Izquierdo and Gedoz are definitely out for the United games, and there are four or five automatic starters for them in that list if they're healthy.
Duarte will probably start the game. He has some injury problems and can't play 3 games a week, but they expect him to play against Utd.

Rest of the list are out for the Utd games though. New signing Ibini also injured.
