Good post. Moyes comments about Everton, once he was at United, were utterly disgraceful. It was actually those statements that raised early warning signs for me. Having a United manager talking like that was embarassing.

As for tomorrow, I'm going 2-2. Without Herrera I think we're going to massively struggle. We'll undoubtedly concede, and I worry about Eto/Lukaku against Mcnair. I hear Coleman and Mccarthy might be out though?
I was thinking similarly, actually have money on a 2-2 draw, that or we will sneak it.2-1

Lukaku outwide against Livepool was awful for big part s of the game so i hope naismith stays as the false 9.As for coleman and Mccarthy they face late fitness tests, which prob mean mcgeady ,oviedo and osman could be in.

    ----Falcao--------
    -------------VanPersie---
    ---------Mata-----------
    ---Dimaria-----Perreira---
    -----------Blind------------
    Shaw-----------------Raf
    --------Rojo---Mcnair------
    -----------Dave---------------

I think if that team gets at them and really try to play between the lines,we ll sneak it.

Have a mad feeling Blinds gonna score.

I'll probably still be up from the bars then
same here ! I just hope they win, last time I stayed up the night to watch them, they fecked up at Leicester CIty, that weekend too we could have been in top 4 had we won. I kind of hate these early kick-offs.

    Is Carrick available or not?
Either way he is not Van Gaal sort of fit to play. Apparently, Van Gaal wants his players to be match fit, different from physically fit, and that match fitness comes after a player is in bench and get some mintues, I haven't seen carrick doing that.

I like the early games since last season. Get the game (and inevitable disappointment) out of the way early and have more day time left.

Must be shit for all of you in different time zones though.

If Mata's playing tomorrow I don't think Valencia will. A Midfield of Di Mara, Blind, Mata and Valencia doesn't sound very well balanced, it might tighten up our wings but we'd be practically nonexistent in the middle of the park. I think Fletcher will start and he and Di Maria will help defend the wings as needed.

Ideally I am sure he would like that. Most managers would

But Luke shaw played with no mins at all. If he has no option and Carrick can play he will play

an advantage that we usually didn't have over the years, playing an opponent who got a midweek game while we got a full week of to prepare for this game.

rojo and mcnair are going to have a tough physical battle. lukaku is strong and of course eto'o can always score goals.

mata has his chance now with rooney suspended. hopefully carrick is fit to start despite yet to play this season. falcao needs a goal soon too.

I actually quite enjoy early hour games (7am for me). Good way to start a day, leaves plenty of space for other plans during the day. If it's a win then also put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

10pm here in Australia. Love these late night games...

Just so excited this season to watch the lads. Last year I was still excited but more of a subtle fist pump "feck yes United tonight...", only to be disappointed nearly every game.

This season I prance around the house singing OLOLOLOLO RADAMEEEEL FALCAAAOOOO. I think its the players like Falcao and Di Maria that gets me going but I also get excited thinking about the attacking potential this team has.

Anyway tonight I'm predicting 3-1 to us.

This is the most important game of the season.. If we cannot win this, then the problem becomes serious..Realistic challenge for top four should start today...

No McCarthy means i have already admitted defeat. I fear bad,bad things if we play the energy less, slow duo of Barry and Gibson
    No mccarthy or coleman?

If thats the case im relieved somewhat, a midfield of potentially blind and fletcher would have been in trouble.

Splurge! Fletcher should def play better beside ADM and DB17, so I'm counting on his experience here to give ADM more liberty going forward combining with the awesome three front men. We got this....4-1

My main two worries are Rojo dealing with Lukaku, we haven't really seen enough of him to see how he is going to deal with lukaku's strength. Also, who is going to replace Herrera?

Well, he's argentine. Argies are strong.

This game reminds me of the Cardiff(?) game last season, when we had the chance to get back in the mix, and blew it. To potentially be in fourth(?) at the end of the day would be a massive boost.

I was thinking that as well. A win today would be a big boost, which can only be a good thing given the games we have coming up.
I just hope we can finish Everton off today, our weakness this season seems to be letting teams back into the game when there should be no way in.

So, just to be clear, the injury/ban-list includes:

    Wayne Rooney
    Ander Herrera
    Phil Jones
    Chris Smalling
    Jonny Evans
    Michael Carrick
    Jesse Lingard
    Ashley Young

van Gaal said there are eight injuries and one suspension, so there is someone else who isn't going to make this game that we might not know about yet. Obviously, Marouane Fellaini has had an injury but could make the bench today. Also, apparently James Wilson had an ankle/foot injury too... Both these players have a possible return date of 5th October (today) however, so right now it's probably up in the air as to whether we see one, both, or neither involved.

    Most likely squad for today:

    de Gea, Lindegaard
Rafael, McNair, Thorpe, Rojo, Blackett, Shaw
    Blind, Fletcher, Pereira
    Mata, Di Maria, Januzaj, Valencia
    Falcao, van Persie

That's 17/18 players to fill the match day squad today. It's likely that one of Fellaini or Wilson will be the final squad member, but there's also Anderson or perhaps another youth player who could come in.

As many have said, the only question in the starting line-up is who takes Herrera's place in central midfield. Fletcher, Pereira, Valencia, and even Januzaj are in the running for that. I expect LvG to keep the same line-up, but if it's not working I wouldn't be opposed to bringing on Januzaj for one of the strikers and see how 4231 goes.

If we can start well and be disciplined defensively, we'll be able to exploit the potential fatigue in Everton and maybe run away with it. However, if we're nervous I wouldn't be surprised to see Everton still take points off of us. More pressure is on us to win this game (arguably, despite Everton's even poorer start) as both teams have plentiful injuries, but Everton have had to travel a long way and not had much preparation for the game.

If we do win today, the psychological boost of being in the top four despite an indifferent start, even at this early stage when a lot of teams are on a similar amount of points, could be massive and set us up on a nice run of results before the big tests against Chelsea and City.

    Reece James.

Ando won't be involved since he didn't train with the first team.

Could be a problem this game, but I'm still waiting for the team to seriously click. I have a feeling everton will be trouble, so a fence sitting 2:2 for me. We seriously need Jones and Evans back.

The other youth player to potentially come in, especially with Wilson injured, might be Keane. With Blackett returning, at least to the bench, Keane might be more useful than Thorpe, amongst the youngsters. Undoubtedly in the absence of Herrera it is Pereira & Januzaj we'd expect to feature at some point, from the youth. Otherwise very sound post from Havak, as ever ;) Barring any surprise formation changes the only major conundrum is the right side of midfield, and I'd favour Valencia to start with Fletch later if we're winning, or Adnan if we're chasing a goal.

What chances of Januzaj starting in midfield?
    Very minimal I'd say.

Rumours are Valencia will start on the right of the midfield diamond.

    De Gea
    Rafael McNair Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Valencia Di Maria
    Mata
    Van Persie Falcao

We'll conceed at least 2. Probably 3. Really think we should go with 4231 for a bit more protection in the middle and then trust that a front 4 from Di Maria, Mata, Januzaj, Van Persie and Falcao would be enough to hurt Everton.
