    RIP Phil Hughes
Are there any actual signs that Pereira might be starting or are these just hopeful line up predictions?

Can't see past a Blind, Fletcher, Di Maria midfield 3 myself.
He has been picked for the bench for the last few games and he hasn't played as of yet so now that now Herrera is injured, Pereira has his chance. LvG must like the look of him in training and performances in the u21's.

Fletcher or Valencia will most probably start but van Gaal isn't afraid to throw youngsters into the deep end so I'm hoping for Pereira.

2-2. Scrappy game, think the teams fluidity is going to suffer without Herrera.

People will be surprised how easily we'll brush them aside.

I'd say this game is the biggest 'must win' for ages. A good win will be massive for confidence going into the international break.
If things go our way we might even be in the top 4 by tomorrow.
Win this one, and we're not in a bad position at all, we'll be within 3points of all of our rivals bar Chelsea.

Just like how we brushed West Ham and Leicester aside?

Everton are in bad form, but they'll still get at us at the back. Also, it's at Old Trafford, so they'll inevitably play their little scouse hearts out.

So, because we couldn't win a game of football against those two, we have no right to win other games?

Where did you get that idea from?

No, I just don't think we'll 'brush them aside'. (We won against West Ham by the way.)

Van Gaal didn't want to name his captain in the press conference even though he had already told the team.

Why not? If it is RVP, then why wait?

The answer has to be that he didn't want to reveal that Fletcher was playing in this match.
I think you're spot on. Fletcher was surely the reason but I think he didn't want to reveal that Fletcher wasn't playing. He didn't reveal McNair would start until just before kick off and he basically announced in the press conference that Mata would replace Rooney.

It seems he doesn't want to load pressure on the young kids. Pereira has clearly been the bench replacement for Herrera's role in the diamond. Makes sense that he will play.

The match tomorrow should be interesting, last season especially in that second match against everton, they absolutely ripped us to pieces with their speed on the counter, especially coleman, he was unbelievable that day

I don't see why people think Everton will win, we've been in bad form but they've been in dreadful form.

    their games:

    Krasodor 1-1 Everton
    Liverpool 1-1 Everton
    Swansea 3-0 Everton
    Everton 2-3 Palace
    Everton 4-1 Wolfsburg
    WBA 0-2 Everton
    Everton 3-6 Chelsea
    Everton 2-2 Arsenal
    Everton 2-2 Leicester

They've won one league game against a poor WBA and one Europa game (which in fairness was very impressive) but otherwise they've been awful.

Everton seem to lift their game against and their big fella up front will cause us a lot if problems at OT. Hope we see our forwards on fire we we get a comprehensive home win and our team get done belief and confidence back.

We'll tonk them. I just no it. Really been disliking Everton and their fans since last season. Time to put them back in their place.

Also the way they abused Moyes was cheap. If one of my clubs manager who had been so loyal went to a top club and failed so bad I wouldn't make it worse by making fun of him. If only they get relegated! would make my season!

Moyes got a better reception than any manager has ever got considering he was joining a local rival. Only when he started disrespecting the club for no reason at all did the Everton fans understandably turn on him.

You're probably right. My hope is that van Gaal shows the same stubbornness for selecting by position he's shown at CB.

For me, Fletcher is cover for Blind, he can't hope to emulate the role that Herrera plays. I'd rather see Januzaj there, for one, as he has the creativity, if not the tackle of Herrera, though he's perhaps more direct.

I picked Pereira as he's the best player we have in the mold of Herrera, but my intuition thinks Fletcher. I just don't like listening to that pushy bastard.
Van Gaal seems to rate Fletcher though which is why I don't think he is going to drop him for a youngster. In defence I don't see players fancied by Van Gaal that much.

Disrespecting them how exactly? By Woodward, who is in charge of deciding value of incoming players, initial bid being lower than Everton's valuation for their player?

And calling United and Everton, local or a rival, is a bit of a stretch.

I will post a big post if you want (it's a copy and paste from a Everton forum but it's exactley how i feel) but i get the impression that most people are sick of it.

Really don't understand the disrespect Everton fans have had towards Moyes after all he did for them, and the serious rewriting of history to taint him which has followed.

I expect Fletcher to start as he is vice captain, Rooney is out and we know that LVG likes his captains to play.

I would prefer Januzaj or Fellaini to Fletcher though.

All our rivals won today so that means we'll either lose or draw this one. It's just the way the world works.
