We can actually win this, Iam very hopeful, without rooney it will be tough now, I guess Mata will fill the gap very well, what worries me, if Herrera will be fit for this one aswell. And what about the back four I'd like to see Jones/Mcnair with Rojo or Blackett together with Rafael and Shaw on the sides.

12 o'clock kick off. Can't remember the last time we were on so early.

Good thing is that Everton playing away in Russia on thursday night, should be tired for this early game.
Great news! Statistically, teams perform poorly right after European away games. Everton travel to Russia and then play us away.

If Herrera is fit I would fancy us to beat them. They have a europa league game on thursday, havn't been in good form and we're at home. It's really hard to say though, with our defence and attack anything could happen.Going for a 3-2.

I feel positive for this one. Everton hasn't impressed and neither have us, but I feel with this win that we will win
3-1. Hopefully Carrick is back then I will feel even more comfortable we need him as our leader.

Well need Blind to pick up Naismith. I'd say his movement is Evertons biggest assets this season.

This will be a tough game, however I am quietly confident we can win against Everton. Their defense looked shaky at times today against Liverpool and Barry was a liability. 3-1 to us.

Suppose we can't expect anything much different than this:

    de Gea
    Rafael McNair Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera Di Maria
    Mata
    van Persie Falcao

However, I would like to see a 4231 with Januzaj/Mata/Di Maria behind Falcao.

If carrick can start i would like to see:

    Blind
    Carrick Herrera
    Di Maria

Just to shore things up and offer a little more protection. We will be able to keep the ball better and hopefully go toe to toe with evertons midfield which is very impressive, mcarthy is a cracking player and along with barry and besic they all work extremely well together.

    De Gea
    Rafael--McNair--Rojo--Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera--Di Maria
    Mata
    van Persie--Falcao

I really hope Jones is fit to start. Lukaku will destroy him. I hope I'm wrong.

Need Herrera and Jones to be fit for this.

Mcnair did well and all but don't think he's up for Lukaku yet. Not sure Rojo is either fully too.

And who the hell is backup for Herrera anyway ? Pereira to start if he's out ?

Our first real test in terms of the strength of the opposition team and a top 5 contender.

May need to change the formation up for this one, we cannot afford to have Baines/Coleman/McGeady/Miralles running at our fullbacks

I think we'll win this one. They play a pretty open games and our attack is lethal. High scoring game 4-2 to us!

This would be surprising given what LvG said about Carrick just a week ago.

Well need Blind to pick up Naismith. I'd say his movement is Evertons biggest assets this season.
Agreed, Naismith is not the type of player that will get much media attention but he's a constant threat for Everton in somewhat of a free role or playing from the right with license to switch with Lukaku.

They have to travel to Russia mid-week, come back late Thursday night and apparently Martinez has been prioritising Europa.

We should expect a win but it will be difficult. At least Rooney can be replaced with Mata, Herrera's injury is the concern though.
Exactly my thoughts. Also looks like Miralas is not going to be fit. I'm feeling confident. If Jones is back as reported he should be able to handle Lukaku.

If Jones is fit and starts, it might be the end of having a youth product in the starting lineup thing.

That record is only applied for match day squad...Impossible to have the record for XI due to injuries etc.

Everton having an away game in Russia on Thursday night could hopefully work to our advantage because Martinez has been naming strong line-ups in the EL as it's quite obviously a competition he wants to do well in. We need to use situations like these to our advantage as for us, it is the only benefit of not being in Europe this season, so hopefully we should be fresher and sharper. I don't think it'll be easy though. I really want Falcao to get a goal. He's been assisting, which is fantastic (and sightly unusual for him) but I want him to get on the score sheet.

If Herrera is fit I think we have a good chance of beating them they have a though away game on Thursday and have not been in good form so far this season.

Rooney nearly always has a mare against his old club so him being out for this one and Mata coming in may be a blessing in disguise.

Missing the Chelsea game, on the other hand, is a huge blow as he nearly always scores against them!

We'll win this one. Europa seems to be already taking it's toll on Everton and their smallish squad. An early kick-off on Sunday after a game in Eastern Europe on thursday is never good.

    De Gea
    Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera Di Maria
    Januzaj
    Van Persie Falcao
Like to start Januzaj at 10. If not him then Fletcher in Herrera's position and Herrera as 10.

Do they have transport links to Manchester from Angmar?

Seriously, we should be winning this. Thursday game for Everton, they're not in good form and even with Rooney missing Mata, Falcao and van Persie up front along with Di Maria, Herrera and possibly Januzaj also should be too much.

    I'm going to this :D

Beginning to wonder if RVP-Falcao-Mata have a wonderful understanding in the upcoming run of games whether LVG might consider not rushing Rooney back in..

He he, I have my nazgul :P

Got scared for a minute when you said Everton and Thursday in the same line, thought i didn't check properly.

Yeah on paper United should beat Everton, but you never know right now which United will turn up.

Will take time to gel completely and i am very confident of LVG's methods. He somehow gives me confidence that all is going to be ok.

Right now i am ready to take a Champions League spot and that is minimum for United this season.

Can't remember last time we won 2 matches in a row. But who knows, everton also plays shit so far, so maybe we will win like 4-3 :D

I think we should this formation against Everton, if Carrick is fit and ready. We need more protection, calmness and precision in passing, Carrick gives us exactly that. Mata isn't tactically smart, so it's a risk to play him.
