He will not rest anybody. Fecking hell Zidane should have left to go to the WC.
Bruno’s played about 7000 minutes this season, of course he want going to rotate on the last game of the season

3rd over 4th is worth a few million in league place and CL tv split. It will be a strong side.

Last year the match he clinched the Dutch league which was the 2nd to last match of the season, his side was

    -----------Haller-Tadic
    ---------------Klaassen
    Taylor----Alvarez---Berghuis
    Tagliafico-Blind-Timber-Mazraoui
    -------------Stekelenberg

The next match 4 days later which there was nothing to play for and was the last of the season the side was

    --------Brobbey-- Haller
    -----------------Tadic
    Taylor----Alvarez----Berghuis
    Tagliafico-Blind-Rensch-Regeer
    -----------------Gorter

For Ajax there was really no exact situation though where they had just played days before and then had a cup final a week later.
They lost the cup final though.

There is zero chance of it happening
I don’t think we’ll see any youth team players if that’s what you mean? But minutes may be used for Garnacho and Pellistri. Mainoo could be on the bench and get a cameo after his youth team award (EtH might decide to do that as a reward for Mainoo, if match situation allows).

    Thought Mainoo's injured?

Is he? Oh crap, well, scratch that idea then. If fit he might have been given a few minutes. Nobody else springs to mind though. So probably the usual line up or slight variations and no kids.

Maguire's last game for the club. Amongst others, of course.

The rotation brigade are out in full force. No doubt Ten Hag will make some changes. He'd be mad not to.

But people forget what happened against Sevilla. Resting players to protect them from injury is not an exacting science. Casemiro or Rashford could pull up or get mown down in the first 5 minutes at Wembley.

Thank feck Ten Hag has the mentality to approach every game with a view to winning it. Otherwise we'd just end up like Arsenal and the same rotation brigade would be calling for Ten Hag's bald head.

I just think some of the youngsters have been on the bench and or in the first team squad for ages and no real game time. Isn't that earning your start? It is an almost meaningless game just before the FA cup final. Effort wise I bet one or two of the youngsters would not let him down and might well outperform the regulars.

I think just like Carroll, Fulham players might want to injure our players. Please bench Casemiro and Varane

No, 3 games are on Sky and 1 is on BT. United aren't on any unfortunately.
You serious? We pay all this money for sky and bt and even on the final game of the season when all games start at the same time we can use the red button?

They only have the rights for x amount of games per season. If you want them to show 10 games on the final day they’ll have to show fewer games earlier in the season.

I'm sure we'll see more Garnacho than we did in the last few games, decent minutes for Pellistri and maybe even some for Iqbal and Maguire. Who else would you like to see starting? Our U21 hasn't been very good, maybe that's what ETH meant by them needing to earn the place to start?

Anyone know why all the games are put forward 30 mins? I've tried googling it and the only thing that showed up was on the United Web page and it said something about the Qatar world cup which I find strange.

Why are people on about resting players?

It's 6 days until the final and we want to finish above those Geordie twats.

There’s middle ground between a team of youngsters and a rotated team.

Just rest Varane, casemiro, rashford, Bruno, shaw if we can.

Because we're afraid that the thugs from Fulham will injure Casemiro, Fred etc. So the natural solution to this is to field Iqbal in CM.
I'm not sure anyone's been seen in this thread worrying about Fred getting injured...

Yep. That's what I usually call for in situations like this, and did so in an earlier post - rotation within moderation. Just rotate were necessary, absolutely no need to go to the full extreme of resting everyone and throwing in the kids and pretty much throw the game.

There's half a dozen or so - maximum - of players we could manage the minutes of today. As you say - Varane, Shaw, Casemiro, Fernandes, Rashford. Maybe Martial as well. But we don't have to not pick all of those. Shaw's injury means he'll probably sit it out. Varane's injury record maybe as well. Casemiro's so vital and a potential red card so, maybe? But the others can feature for certain lengths of time - as subs or starters who are then replaced.

And we've got first team squad replacements to step up from the bench as starters - the likes of Dalot, Malacia, Maguire, Fred, Garnacho, etc. So absolutely no need to even bypass those and start with the likes of Williams, Mengi, Iqbal, Mainoo, Elanga as some suggest. That just seems to be completely unnecessarily throwing away the game and 3rd place.

Rest our five best players? You might as well forfeit the game.

There are 6 days of rest before the cup final, and many had plenty of rest during the season. No reason to exaggerate.

    .................. De Gea

    Dalot - Maguire - Lindelöf - Malacia

    McTominay - Casemiro - Fred

    Sancho - Rashford - Garnacho

No need to go full strength & just play as many of the reserves & youngsters as possible…….. Of course that’s not going to happen and there will be some regular 1st team players in the lineup to send some posters in this place into a frenzy of rage  Anyways below is what I’m hoping for, not what I’m expecting (so don’t start crying your eyes out towards me) as I’m sure it’ll no doubt look both a lot different & a lot more stronger when the actual team is announced.

    Butland

    Dalot - Lindelof - Maguire - Malacia

    McTominay - Fred

    Pellistri - Weghorst - Garnacho

    Martial

De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Jurado, Williams, Iqbal, Mainoo, Eriksen, Sancho, Elanga

    Manchester United 2-1 Fulham

P.S. any players at risk of missing the cup final through suspension? Basically with an accumulation of yellow cards or does that not get carried over into the cup?

    Rashford starts according to rumours.

Strange to start our most valuable player. I can understand players still needing to be match fit but Rashford is the player we can’t afford to have injured.

Tbf you shouldn't be scared of injuries, only thing that matters is, if players need a rest.

I would argue you still have to look at the context of each game. This is a dead rubber in comparison to 6 days time which is one of very few trophies we could win in last 10 years.

I don’t think wholesale changes are good thing either but certainly think one or two key players should not be starting to protect them. Otherwise you would start your best team every match if they were match fit and not showing fatigue which I don’t agree with.

I’m all for starting a strong team but if we’ve got it sewn up by 65 mins I really want to see all five subs used to give younger players some minutes (assuming EtH thinks they’ve earned it).

I agree with the general point, but we shouldn't stop playing players because of injuries. If they are showings signs of fatigue or if manager wants to rest the players to have a full go next week then yes, they shouldn't start.

Going by EtH interview, it will be strong team today.
