Mail says that Shaw is out for atleast 3 weeks.
3 options at LB, all three injured. Injuries have outdone themselves again.
    Will be a 352, I guess.

    Ideal:

    De Gea
    Smalling Carrick Evans
    Valencia Fellaini Herrera Young
    Januzaj Rooney Di Maria

    Probable:

    De Gea
    Evans Smalling Blackett
    Valencia Carrick Fellaini Young
    Rooney
    Van Persie Di Maria
    Scrappy 2-1 or 3-1 win.

I could see Wilson starting this one, he didnt play for reserves (As far as i know)... RVP out of form. Potentially time to give Wilson a run.

Although maybe Rooney up top and Mata / Januzaj / Herrera to come in

Has anyone even seen anything of Hull this season? I'm not even sure what to expect of them. Hopefully Shaw is fit, 3-5-2 at home just invites pressure a bit too much.
With Rafael and Herrera fit I can't imagine that LvG will play 3-5-2 at home against Hull.

I like how we are going to clone Herrera for this game, or he has a secret twin brother?

Rojo is back in training and Evans plays for the reserves... this is perfect news!! :D Definitely one of them should slot in for Blackett or maybe give Rojo 60-70mins and allow us to play 4-2-3-1.

Pretty sure Rojo is out for another month.
I hope we dont play 3-5-2, would rather Blackett played LB and valencia RB with Evans and Smalling at CB. I assume perma crock Rafael still isint fit as he didnt play for the reserves. Infront of that hope we go back to the diamond and bring Mata and Herrera in.

Just checked out the Herrera thread in the mains and it seems like people are arguing which one should start between him and Fellaini. Can't these two play together? I would give Carrick's spot to Herrera, if we won't change the 3-4-3, because I think he would do a much better job and provide an extra attacking dimension to the team. Defensively, I'm sure he's fully capable. Hopefully, he'll be back for this game

Let's keep it simple lads. 11 players, no clones.
One final chance for the 3:5:2.

    ----------------De Gea---------------
    -----Paddy-----Smalling-----Evans----
    Valencia----Fellaini----Carrick----Young
    ------------------Mata---------------
    -----------Rooney------Di Maria-------

Lindegaard, Rafael, Blackett, Herrera, Januzaj, Wilson, Van Persie

Would give the bolded ones some minutes in the second, if all goes well.

So with Shaw out for a few weeks, it'll probably be a 3-5-2, or Blackett at left back for a few weeks...

    De gea
    Valencia Smalling McNair Blackett
    Carrick
    Fellaini Herrera
    RvP Rooney Di Maria

If a 3-5-2, then young for Herrera most likely, if Herrera isn't fully fit yet. In an ideal world, Rvp would be dropped but I doubt it.

With no actual left backs? We may play Blackett there but then who goes LCB? I fear he may play the 3-5-2. It's quite likely, in fact.

With the new injury to Shaw, it'd be very disappointing if we went back to the 352 formation that teams easily beat by parking the bus at the start of the season, especially after our last few games looked very promising even with 3 19 year olds and a winger in defense.

    ...................De gea
    Rafael-Smalling-McNair-Blackett/James

    Please.

Shaw's out for 2-3 weeks apparently. We'll probably see Blackett at LB again despite his awful start against Arsenal, I think LVG praised him after that game.

The 352 can do one. I'd sooner bring in Evans at centre half and play Blackett left back. If the latter can't be trusted then I'd rather draft in Rafael over on the left.

There is no way on earth we should be lining up with that ghastly formation against Hull at Old Trafford.

Yes they can play together and they should.

    Carrick
    Fellaini
    Herrera

    midfield three, could be great.

We Just have to hope that Van Gaal re watches the arsenal game, sees how easily arsenal got through our midfield for 98 minutes, how lucky we where not to concede more than one goal, that Blackett can play at left back, that it's okay to play two right footed centre backs, and that a midfield three of Carrick Fellaini and Herrera can protect the back four.

It did, given that after the 30minute mark all they had were shots from distance while we were actually pretty good defensively considering the players who were there.
After 30 minutes of madness, They didn't have anymore clear cut chances. But they still got in behind our midfield for most of the game, With ease.

Not really, certainly not at will or with ease. It still happened occasionally of course as we were playing away to Arsenal. Do you expect to completely dominate them or something? They're still a top team, despite their inconsistent start to the season, and have some great players, so of course they'll get in behind us at times, as they do to everyone they play.

If we want Fellana and Herrera in the same side but in the 3-5-2, we could play this.
    De Gea
    McNair Smalling Blackett
    Valencia Fellaini Carrick Young
    Herrera
    Rooney Di Maria
    Impossible though, there's no RvP!

Who will have to play because of injuries, so I don't see your point. Young played well against Arsenal too.
