    Worried about whether Carrick and Zlatan can play 2 games in 2 days. Stupid scheduling. :mad: Can we beat Boro without them? Or maybe try to go for an early goal and take them both off at half time?
    The question isn't can we beat Boro without them, it is can we beat WHAM without them. :D Fellaini should come in against Boro and be fine deputizing for Carrick like he did at the start of the season. I suspect Ibra will play both games, full 90 minutes. In any case we can rest him with Rooney/Rashford if we have to.

    I'm expecting us to keep Boro at bay for 90 minutes and score a couple.

    Boro are a decent team. Defensively pretty good. I just really hope we can get an early goal otherwise I think we're in for an edgy one.

    Boro are one of those teams that have gone under the radar for me this season, I haven't seen anything of them. Hope we get the win and keep the run going, we should be winning this easily at home. Hopefully a few more goals for Zlatan too.

    They've been pretty torrid lately but have pulled off draws at the Etihad and the Emirates this season so a potential banana skin we hopefully sidestep.

    Just do our bit and get within a point of Arsenal before they play again, hopefully they'll be a winner in the Liverpool / City game aswell to pull another one within touching distance.

    I'm already regretting my 4-1 prediction.

    'Boro have massively flown under my radar so far this season. I dont know if I've actually sat down and watched them, I just know Negredo has scored a few scrappy goals and Valdes is apparently doing alright between the sticks, I think.

    I'm now thinking I was way too optimistic. I'd take any kind of 3pts really, I'm now thinking a scrappy, last-gasp 1-0 or 2-1 might be the outcome.

    Nah, for once I'm confident. Middlesbrough are a solid prospect - very few teams in the PL aren't - but we cruised past West Brom who are significantly more so. We've been winning games by two- and three-goal margins whilst still arguably not making the most of our chances or getting the rub of the green with penalties etc. Key players are fit and available. No reason why we shouldn't expect to win well.

    Quite like their badge. I seem to recall it being an excellent Panini sticker.

    Rest Carrick. Play Herrera deeper. Pogba and Mata in MF. Martial, Zlatan, Mkhitaryan across front. Sub at the hour depending on how the match is going.

    2-0

    A trap but United will find a flash of brilliance to scrape through. 1-0.

    I used to dread this fixture in years gone by, hopefully this one will be relatively routine.

    This is Sunderland mark 2. Except boro arw a bit better.
    Theyll come to keep it tight but if we can score before half time then we should cruise through. Longer they keep nil nil the harder it will be. we should be fine.

    Under soil heating.
    A mutual friend is a Boro fan, and a mouthy one at that, so I'm praying we win this just to shut the smoggie git up.

    Cagey 1-0 all over this. Boro are a poor side but managed to keep a clean away at City and Arsenal while Mourinho will probably rest a couple of key players for West Ham a couple of days later. Ibra magic to save the day.

    I'd sit Carrick this game because I think West Ham will be tougher.

    Lineup for Middles

    Bailly Jones Rojo Darmian (only because I want Blind against WHM)
    Herrera Pogba

    Mikey Mata Lingard
    Ibra
    *******************************
    Yup...I went 4-2-3-1 for tomorrows game...then against West Ham

    Valencia Jones Rojo Blind
    Herrera Carrick Pogba
    Mikey Ibra Martial

    Obviously I'd sub Rashford for Ibra at 70 minutes of the Middles game.

    I made this picture using only powerpoint... It's been a living hell for the past 5 years of no photoshop. Just thought I'd post this now that the machinery is finally kicking in on full gear. Feel free to post wherever you like.

    I think Carrick should be rested for West Ham away.

    If Carrick is rested, should JM play Blind, Fellaini, Fosu-Mensah or Herrera in his place?

    There were no foundations. Every concept and idea has been thrown in the bin by Jose and he is starting from scratch.

    1, possession football - under Jose has been binned
    2, ultra defensive football - under Jose has been binned and we have reverted to an attacking style of football
    3, Martial - the one player who played decent under LVG - under Jose is pretty average and has been benched
    4, LVG was bringing in youth - under Jose this idea is being binned.
    ...but to name a few.

    The "LVG and his foundations" is a complete fallacy, made up by LVG supporters.
    LVG's "foundations" are being erased and by the end of next season, it'll be like he was never here.

    Eh, ok. You're entitled to have your own opinion I guess. Just know you're quite alone with that.

    With Andy Carroll back for West Ham, would rather Blind play v Boro than WHU.

    So the 18 is more or less confirmed:

    DDG, Romero;

    Valencia, Bailly, Jones, Rojo, Smalling, Blind;

    Schweinsteiger, Fellaini, Herrera, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Mata, Lingard;

    Zlatan, Martial, Rashford
